Soooo cute I love it! I would consider this a hole in the wall since the food was soooo good, yet so underrated. Dare I say probably some of the best Thai food I've had in a while. They had the Asian aunties in the back and they knew what they were doing!! I went with my family and shared our food family style with Pad Thai, Larb & something with Crispy Pork (with sides of steamed and sticky rice). Absolutely loved it, the service was exceptional even with them having a lot to go orders. Definitely recommend this spot for a chill date night, time to kill between classes or if you just want some authentic Thai food that will satisfy any craving!!

It's chow time with Chao Thai! The service from boss man is always amazing, a strong and friendly presence to greet you, assuring you always get the right plate you're craving that day. The food is packed with flavor and the aroma that comes from the kitchen when the food is being prepared inflates your nostrils into thinking you're in your Thai grandmas kitchen. I've never had a short from amazing meal here.I read some of the reviews saying that the portions aren't large or that the service is slow and I couldn't disagree more. Not once, have I left here hungry, not once have I waited more than 15 minutes for my food. Even if I did have to wait more than 15 minutes, you can't rush greatness.Chao Thai is one of my favorite restaurants, truly, a chefs kiss.

Humble little spot near UNLV to get some good Thai food. My work team and I dined here on our lunch break and the food came out within 20 mins. I had some spring rolls and Pad See Ew, both of which were yummy and flavorful. The restaurant wasn't too busy, so I can't speak to wait times when multiple parties are dining. The interior is humble with a few tables/booths. There are no bells/whistles on the decor and things could use a little updating, but it smelled and seemed clean enough. The service was direct and to the point. The prices were okay. A little bit steep for a no frills spot, but it was good at least! Parking is easy, as the restaurant is in a full plaza.

A coworker and I were looking for a good Thai place near work and decided to check out Chao Thai and we are so glad we did. We went around 11:30am and it wasn't busy. It's near ULNL and school wasn't in session that day so could make a difference. They did have several To Go orders while we were there. They have Lunch Specials (Monday - Friday) with 15 choices that are $9.95 for an Entree that includes steamed rice, spring roll, and soup. It's a few dollars more if you choose beef, shrimp, brown, or fried rice. I went with the Spicy Basil with Beef and loved it. Their spice level is 1 (mild) to 5 (very spicy). I went with a level 4 and it was exactly what I wanted. Spicy enough if you like it hot but not overwhelming where you can't taste the food. He also gave us some chili sauce on the side so you can add as needed. My coworker went with the Pad Thai with Chicken, spice level 4. I tasted some of it and it was delicious. Noodles mixed perfectly in the sweet-savory sauce with all the accoutrement- veggies, bean sprouts, and chopped peanuts. The portions for the Lunch Specials are good. The place is nice and clean- nothing fancy, just casual. The male that was working was our server, cashier, and took phone orders and is amazing. He was very friendly and attentive. We told him we enjoyed our meal and would definitely be back.

If i could give 0 stars I would. I ordered from this spot through their website. Spent $135 for my family and when I came to pick up my order the restaurant was closed. I tried calling and I could hear the phone ringing from the outside but no one was here! The open sign was off and door was locked buy sign on the door says hours open 11a-7pm. It's 1:25pm. Completely disappointed.

I love this place. My boyfriend and I eat here at least once a week. I used to go to block9/ Nittaya's but when I tasted Chao's tom kha, I couldn't go back to block9. Their menu is a little limited but well worth it for the curries and fried rices. We get the duck and panang curry, I never get sick of it. Their fried bananas are great as well!

This is my first time trying this spot & honestly it's my last as well. I went there with my wife & kid for lunch time. We checked the menu & decided on the order.BEAWARE!!!! We were surprised when we got the bill as everything we ordered priced on the menu got increased anywhere from $1 to $4 per order. Example: Lemon juice in the menu $3.25 and on the receipt $4.25, Pad Thai $9.95 on the menu and $13.95 on the receipt & so does the rest of my order. When I asked the guy what's going on why there's a price discrepancy, he pointed out on a hand written note on the menu with a sharpie that says "All prices change".I understand inflation and prices going up but they don't go up by the time u make your order and when you pay! Very inconsistent & Very deceptive! I am definitely making a partial dispute on this one!!!Anyone who goes there be mindful and confirm the prices you see on the menu are the prices you going to pay before u make your order. If you're prices went up you should put that across the board, menus, online and everywhere & people who like the place wouldn't mind paying the increase, but not in a deceptive way like that! I am extremely disappointed with this place!!!!!
