I am doing this review even BEFORE we get our food. The service top tier! Stacy saw I was whipped after a day chasing a 10 year old and brought out toys so I could have 5 minutes of peace enjoying my much needed and tasty Bloody Mary. The cute decor and the smell already tells me the food will be amazing. Thank you BandB!

I've been here a handful of times for lunch and dinner. Enjoyed the grilled cheese with bacon, but I never really understood the hype. To be fair, I'm not a BBQ fan. And don't really drink bourbon, except on really rare occasions I'm feeling extra sassy. I do like a good biscuit, but these didn't do it for me. They were small, dry and crumbly. Even the delicious flavored butters couldn't redeem them. So, while I didn't put up a fight if someone wanted to meet there once in a while, it wasn't my spot of choice. Well, today fate was on my side! My husband and I went on an unplanned, random Monday morning breakfast date. We tried to go to a neighboring restaurant on Water Street that had just started serving breakfast. Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for us, they had no staff. Like, literally none. No customers either. We stood waiting for someone to seat us for quite a while. I finally asked a young couple who were having a moment in the bar if there was any staff and got "the eye" from the boy/man but the young woman went in search of someone at the bar and kitchen only to come back with a shrug. So, we took the hint and left. Biscuits and Bourbon was just a block away, so we decided to risk it rather than getting back in the car. Don't worry- we had a great date! We're a little concerned that there were no customers here either - I guess Water Street is quiet on Monday mornings. But a server came almost immediately out of the kitchen to seat us and our service experience was fabulous throughout our meal! We even, hesitantly, tried the biscuits again and they were so...darn...good!! Buttery, crispy and tender, delicious!! We ordered the chicken Bennie and brisket hash - yummy, yum yum!! I'm not typically a fan of breakfast potatoes, preferring buttery, crispy hash browns. But I'll make a never-heard-of-before exception for these breakfast potatoes. Nicely sized, perfectly crispy, oily but not greasy. Both dishes were a unique twist from the usual and we were highly satisfied with our choices.

So my cousin came to town and asked me to go to dinner with him, but it was VALENTINE'S DAY, y'all. So since he's an old hermit and I'm his cousin, a restaurant even REMOTELY romantic was out of the question. LMAOSo I chose Biscuits and Bourbon, because if that doesn't sound like a hang out spot, I don't know what does. To be fair, my ex boyfriend and I do love a good bourbon drink and a batch of biscuits, but you know wtf I mean.Anyhoo, let's talk about food. So I'm a giant pain in the a** when it comes to BBQ brisket. I grew up in Texas and I've eaten some brisket you would not believe. Imagine cutting into a piece of mean with a SPOON and it gives like butter. Imagine the smoke rings from a roadside smoker that's been puffing since all hours of the night. Okay, so you see my point of reference is top tier, right? Okay. That being said, the brisket at Biscuits & Bourbon did not live up to my incredibly high expectations, however, it was tasty. The texture required a knife to cut unfortunately, and was a tad on the dry side. I give it a Texas "meh."My cousin was really interested in the fried chicken, but then he discovered it only came as a sandwich and he lost interest. He ordered something else that was not chicken or brisket so I completely didn't pay attention to what he ordered after that. The biscuits, which were the restaurants claim to fame, were quite good and I enjoyed the honey butter. The blueberry butter was really good too. I was told there were other types of butter spreads for the biscuits but I was a little confused how to ask to try the other spreads. Is it extra if you get more than two? If the spreads are the highlight of your menu, why are they not on the menu and why can't I just get them at a station or something? So many questions! The unsweetened iced tea was fine. The side dishes I got were the street corn and the baked beans. The corn was meh. Yes, there was a lot of flavor, but not in a good way. The baked beans were SLAMMIN' though! They were just sweet enough and had pork cooked in, as it should be. I don't think I'll be in a hurry to come back to this place for BBQ, but I would pick up a tub of those beans to go in a heartbeat.

The name had us dashing to the restaurant, I mean what could be better than biscuits AND bourbon?!! We're also huge BBQ lovers so it was definitely something we were looking forward to! The Bourbon Bloody Mary was really good! Wasn't sure about the sweetness of the bourbon but it paired nicely with everything and gave the drink a nice smokey rich flavor. We shared the single biscuit and gravy as an appetizer and it was spot on! The biscuit was phenomenal, they definitely know what they're doing with that! The gravy was also delicious, plenty of sausage and a richness that set it apart from any I ever had. The service and BBQ were where it fell apart. We started at the bar but were ignored so sat at a table and eventually the bar tender came over! Took our drink orders and didn't come back, another gal delivered them and took our order. We waited forever!! Biscuit came out and we thoroughly enjoyed it then we waited what seemed like a very long time for the entrees. They were lukewarm so sadly, they had been sitting somewhere. The burnt ends were literally swimming in sauce, way too sweet for me and definitely not rendered enough. The brisket and tri tip were just okay, no seasoning just the smokey flavor and a bit over cooked. Not a great experience, just okay!

We dig this place! Small yet large enough for a decent crowd. You can smell the biscuits and bbq type vibe as soon as you walk in. Everything is consistently delicious. We had biscuits of course, jams and butters. Elote corn has thingy. Breakfast potatoes. Mimosa. Each item is cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place! Another visit we had tri tip and more biscuits.

First time here and the Biscuits are made fresh daily and are amazing. They have other foods but the highlight are the biscuits. The service was good, the ambiance is a very cool place. It's not huge so if you are wanting some good biscuits and choices of jams or butters, you better get there early.I was not disappointed and this is a place I will definitely go back to.If you have not tried this place, you are missing a hidden gem in Henderson.

Maybe second time is a charm... Nope Food was wrong again etc., burnt potato, and no refills on our drinks. Unfortunately, we will not be trying this restaurant for the third time. Gave it a two star because I like the biscuits.

I decided to try it out because of TikTok and the ratings. I was disappointed in the food. It lacked seasoning. We waited an hour, which is fine since it was a Saturday and the place gets busy. Staff is great and the food was brought out quickly. But the biscuits and gravy, mainly the gravy had no flavor. It lacked so much flavor that I wish they should've left the gravy off. The potatoes were cold as well. I'm not a big BBQ person so I don't think I'll be going back to try another dish. Bloody Mary was not bad but not memorable.
