Stopped here for a bite. The Honduran coffee is yummy. The tortilla strips and dip they bring out = delicious! The "Especial" breakfast wrap is the best non-seafood breakfast wrap/taco I have ever tasted! I literally wiped the plate clean, then finished what my dining partner didn't finish.

We really wanted to try this place but received no service from anyone. We went on a Sunday night at 6 pm. They had music blasting. I saw three waitresses huddled together who saw us but were not approaching to help. I finally went up to them to ask if they were serving dinner. They spoke to each other but not to me. I am guessing they didnt speak English. It became clear we were not welcomed since no one would help, so my family turned around and left.....disappointing

Been awhile since we visited last. Recent updates, new paint, new tables and chairs. Looks nice and more modern.Food and service still the same, fair price and good quality food.We like this place and drive pretty far from 290 Fairfield area to eat here. Well worth the drive. The only complaint I have is thy have a jukebox and play music extremely loud. We got lucky this time another patron played 6-8 classic rock songs which are half as loud as the Spanish music played at same volume setting. The Spanish music is so loud you can barely hear the waitress and you have to yell to have a conversation at your table. They really should lower the volume of the music to back ground level so you can enjoy your meal and visit.

I'm probably more of a 3.5, right in the middle when it comes to my feelings on Las Hamacas. My overall recommendation is definitely go try it out. Don't necessarily go for the atmosphere, HH beer prices, or service, but definitely go for the Honduran food. The hubs and I came here for dinner on a Friday and here were some observations:Liked:Plantain chip appetizer (thin, crisp chips served with cool cilantro dipping sauce)The sweet tamale (tasted similar to sweet cornbread...mmmm)The typical tamale (not much to say, just an excellent tamale)The grilled chicken (chicken was tender and juicy and all the sides were great) The thick fried plantains that came with my beef skewers (I didn't think I'd like these because I do not like the taste of bananas or plantains - plus they were fairly thick cut - but they were delicious and addictive. Be not afraid my fellow banana dislikers!)Not so crazy about: The LOUD rap/raggaeton music (did I just walk in to a Pitbull music video?)The price of beer ($4 for ONE dos X's and modelo! During HH!)The beef/carne asada skewers were so dry and tough it wasn't even worth the effort to chew them. Ergo the recommendation to stick with the typical Honduran food and not the tex-mex crowd pleasers. It was the only thing served that wasn't satisfactory, but it was a main course after all so it was disappointing.I would definitely love more of their food, but I'd stick to typical Honduran dishes, and I'd probably ask for takeaway next time to avoid the night club jams and the overpriced beer. Overall though, A-OK!

I had always gone by this restaurant in Spring Branch but never stopped to try it until yesterday. The food is homestyle and they have a lot of items to suit everyone's taste. I had a chicken sauteed with a flavorful tomato sauce, wonderful refried beans, rice and cabbage. The plate was less than $10. I also had a delicious drink made from the fruit of the maranon, or cashew. The rest in my party loved their food including our appetizer which was a mixture of plantain chips, grilled chicken, fajita meat, shrimp and pickled onions. This melange was interesting and huge and we finished it. I don't know if pupusas are eaten in Honduras besides El Salvador but they have them on the menu. They do have a lot of things on the menu including bean soup, tamales, etc. so I am looking forward to visiting again soon.

Definitely a legit Honduran restaurant! Ate the fried plantains and papusas which were both delicious. Additionally, I had the coffee which was a unique flavor and the waitress always kept it filled up!I definitely recommend coming here!

Great Honduran food and drinks! If you're looking to try something new or different this is the place to go from great seafood options and unique drinks like cashew fruit juice and banana chips and flavored sodas! I really enjoyed my lunch here as well as the clean and authentic Caribbean environment!

This was my first time coming to the Spring Branch location. Ive been to the Bellaire location once as well and between the two, the food was much better at Bellaire location. Not sure if it was the cook that day or perhaps Bellaire I had lunch vs late dinner at SB location. I ordered the same item which was the Honduran fried chicken. I felt the chicken here was much smaller and taste was different. I would give 2.5 stars. I still prefer Mi Bella Honduras restaurant.I returned to try the breakfast. Apparently they open at 8am and serve breakfast and regular menu items. I tried the pork chop w eggs, beans, cream and tortillas. Was pretty good.
