Las Americas

I really, really love this place. Las Americas is a good name for this place. It is not truly Mexican because it features foods found in Latin and Central America. It's a small hole in the wall kind of place right off of the very busy Nolensville Pike in Nashville. If you aren't careful, you might miss it. However, don't miss it.Food is absolutely delicious. Everything from the chips and salsa to the main entrées are on point. The pico de gallo is real fresh and tasty. Everything is fresh cooked to order. Particularly, I recommend the fresh pupusas. Perfect flavors and not greasy at all. I can't rave enough about it.Boss man raved about his chimichanga with tomatillo sauce. He was so happy he even ate avocado. He doesn't usually eat avocado!! He also tried the fresh beef taco and thought he was tasting stuff he hasn't had since San Diego. As for me, the carnitas was refreshingly good. Pork was cooked beautifully and the combo of rice beans salad and pico was unbeatable. The portions are extremely generous that we both took product home with us. One other Yelp reviewer commented about don't come here unless you bring your appetite. That reviewer was spot on.The staff is super nice. They can speak both English and Spanish. The place has kept very clean and neat. And they also play music that adds to the ambience. On the other TV they even had a rodeo playing! If you don't want to buy bottles of soda or anything like that, I recommend you bring your own bottle of water or whatever beverage you prefer. After this experience, we will be sure to be back. We've been going to this restaurant for years and it's been amazing the whole years. They are super friendly and when you have any questions they will know the answer. This day I got a carne asada torta it was so amazing their meat is such a good quality. Also I had a taco, the meat was juicy. My boyfriend always gets a carne asada huarache it's always good. They have different types of drinks but we stick with horchata it's always good no matter what. It's a small restaurant but they always have music playing in the background. When you walk in their super friendly. You can seat anywhere in the restaurant and when you're ready to pay they'll give you the check and you pay in the back of the restaurant. Will forever recommend this hole in the wall restaurant.

What a great little restaurant tucked away on Nolensville Road! When my party of 3 walked in, we were greeted by the smell of fresh cooking and a beaming waitress. Our waitress was so patient and kind, helping explain the menu to my grandmother.The food came out within a timely manner. The barbacoa was perfectly tender and flavorful. My tortillas de maíz were so fresh and hot, I almost burnt myfingertips. My grandmother had no problems about her pescado frito, either. It was plentiful portions, the kind where a to-go box is necessary. The leftovers heated up nicely, too.For drinks we all got agua de jamaica. So tangy and not too sweet. It's my favorite agua fresca so this is something that must be nailed for me! I will be back!

The food was amazing. We were in from out of town and wanted some really good tex mec and this place delivered. The outside didn't immediately say restaurant to me, but maybe I just didn't see the signage. The day we were there the AC was out- not sure if this is a regular problem?

We ate dinner early dinner here with another couple. We all enjoyed it. We had pupusas, tacos and tortas. The service was excellent and I would have paid more for what we ordered. It is small but we were there late afternoon, so only a few tables occupied. A great meal.

This was my first visit based on yelp reviews. First let me start with my sever, she welcome me and my mother in law with a please attitude and smile. She offered Jamaica drink and suggested I try it. I think her service topped the food. The food was good as well. We ordered tacos for a quick bite. Overall, good food good service. Will be back!! Oh yeah - it is in the cut, but don't let it deter you from enjoying its benefits.

Amazing food, really great prices. I got the carne asada tacos and I didn't know they could be so good!

My bf and I went there and food was trash. The chips for salsa tasted like they fried it in rancid oil! I ordered 5 tacos and the meat was barely seasoned and my bf burrito was drenched in soup and his horchata tasted like the powder wasn't finished desolving. Highly disappointed! Waste of money! Wondering where the standard went!

Lots of food for the money, but a bit bland like many other authentic Mexican restaurant dishes.
