We went for drinks and some little bites. The food was top-notch. Complex flavors and gorgeous plating. We ordered the Seared Sonoma foie gras which was one of the best dishes we had. Melt in you mouth. The Carman Ranch steak tartare was also excellent (however the poppy seed crackers were a bit too salty for the otherwise perfectly seasoned tartare. The Caramelle pasta was also amazing. I highly recommend their pastas and plan to go back for more. For dessert we got the Shaw Island quince tarte tatin. It was a perfect end to the evening, and a great flavor profile for the winter season. We had several cocktails and I'm sad to say these did not live up to the mystique of the food. My Old Fashioned had chunks of ice and this made it very diluted (true Old Fashioned aren't even supposed to have ice). I ordered a second cocktail off their seasonal menu (Basic Witch) and this one was overpowered by pumpkin spice flavoring. Given the caliber (and cost) of items at Lark, I would expect more. Perhaps stick with wine.

TLDR; Bring someone you want to impress here. The tasting menu is wonderful and seasonal (the October menu is lovely!), the ambiance is industrial-chic but still classy (Seattle classy, so there were still people in Patagonia), and the service staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.I came in for a reservation at 7:45pm on Wednesday and the restaurant was pretty quiet, about half full. They were playing great tunes (Khrangbin and Tash Sultana!) and we were seated right away. Our service staff, Tessa, was knowledgeable about everything on the menu and let us know we were making good choices for the dinner. The tasting menu had something for everyone--we enjoyed the pescatarian options. We were also very happy with the serving sizes, walking away slightly on the side of uncomfortably full. We couldn't stop eating though, everything was delicious. The seasoning was very rustic in the way that it let the ingredients speak for themselves. Delicate greens and fresh fish won't be overpowered by a seasoning mix--they really let the quality food shine. The breads in the bread service are delightfully unique and bring different tastes and textures to your meal. Very good butter and the oil mixture is to die for. The crackers are borderline addictive. The bisque was delicate in the way Dungeness Crab is, but filling and creamy. The tomatoes on the salad were flavorful (some of the last good summer tomatoes as autumn truly sets in!) and the dressing on the greens was sharp in a fresh way. The steelhead! Immaculate! Crispy crisp skin, a THICK cut of steelhead, borderline addictive miso sauce, delightful little plump mussels, and a zesty bit of sticky rice to finish it off. I appreciate how petite the desserts are after such a filling meal. The baked Alaska was plated perfectly to allow you to eat all parts without making a mess. I'm not sure if I've ever had as yummy a meringue! The waitstaff was so kind to us. The meal was paced wonderfully but we finished after they closed, and Tessa told us not to rush. She was so kind!If you want to impress someone, this is the place to go. The tasting menu is well worth the money. We didn't get drinks but the cocktails looked lovely :)

The food was pretty delicious. The drinks and cocktails were amazing and beautiful. The service was extremely slow. Unfortunately, we waited 45 minutes to even get our food, th the food came out so quickly we didn't even have a chance to enjoy everything. But the food that we did it was very tasty. The restaurant is a romantic upscale vibe definitely perfect for a date night.

Enjoyed dinner with wine pairing at Lark on Friday. I had the watermelon, jicama, basil salad which was full of flavor... and very filling. Compared to the size of the first courses ordered by the others in my party, the salad could really be cut in half and still be plenty. For the second course, I had the buratta - very delicious and lovely with strawberries. As a third course, I had the gnocchi. I enjoyed it yet struggled to finish it (probably because of the large salad)For dessert, I had the chocolate mochi cake. The flavor was good, yet I didn't care for the texture - it seemed too dry. There was a lacquered peach with the cake which was delicious. The wine pairings were nice. The service was great.

With restaurants in this area coming and going, Lark has stood the test of time; and for good reason. A bit off the beaten path in the Capitol Hill area, it's a bit of a retreat from the up beat pace of the strip. The food is approachable and classy as is the atmosphere and service. If you haven't made it to Lark, and are curious. I feel that you owe it to yourself to make it here at least once.

New Year's Eve Prix Fixe DinnerWe made reservations (of course).Arrived a few minutes early, but they were ready for us so were seated immediately. They checked / held our coats for us which was much appreciated since there wasn't a lot of room to 'stuff' them at the booth. The ambiance is upscale... classy, but not stuffy. Definitely a 'refined air' about the place, but in a casually elegant way.IMO.... Definitely a "date night" or "special occasion" type of place. Or maybe even a "power" business meal. This is going to be a Dining Experience with a capital D and E. Not a quick and boisterous meal.Service and Timing of everything was perfect. We were not rushed nor did we have to wait long in between courses. And our water glasses were always filled although I never saw them fill them. (hmmmm...)They have a lovely and great selection of cocktails and wines. We opted to go the wine route... and had a lovely bottle of Pouilly Fuisse and then additional glasses of wine later on. Because it was NYE, their full menu was not available. But their Prix Fixe menu was quite good so I don't feel like we were missing out on anything.... and I think most of what we had was on their regular menu. Plus, they had several options to upgrade to Caviar, Foie Gras and Wagyu if you wanted. We enjoyed the following:Amuse Bouche - seafood starter on crispy noriBread service of 3 different types of 'bread'... one was actually a crackerBeet SaladHamachi Foie Gras (because I decided to be fancy)Crab BisqueBurrata CannelloniBlack CodSteakMushroom risottoQuince tart/cakeChocolate torte/cakeLemon parfaitEverything was tasty! And we did not leave wanting for anything... except maybe a warm blanket and a fire to sit by to continue digesting after all the decadence. Truly a lovely meal.Notables... * Hamachi ... melted in your mouth. I would have been happy eating another serving of this and calling it a night. Delicious! * The Foie Gras.... took me back to when my mom and I ate our way through Paris. It was unctuous and sinful.* Quince tart/cake.... I've never had quince before, so I was pleasantly surprised by how light this dessert was yet had a slight sweetness and slight holiday spice to it. I still can't describe what a quince looks like, but if I see it on the menu, I'd order it again just to see if it matched up to this one. There are so many incredible places to eat in Seattle so it's hard to choose. But this is definitely a Good One to experience if you want a nice Dining Experience.
