Lanna Thai Diner

Our favorite eat-in Thai. This place is an absolute FAVORITE of the offspring. Whenever they have a friend stay with us, Lanna Thai is the destination of choice. Owner is friendly and honest--he'll tell you when mango is out of season; he'll tell you what's especially good that day. In fact, I don't order anymore; I let HIM take care of it. Cool atmosphere (rail car diner); great prices; super-delicious food. Added bonus: If for some reason the diner is closed (vacation, Monday, whatever), the super-tasty hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese Pho is right across the street (indeed, we'd eat there more often if it weren't so close to Lanna Thai!). Pro tip: Do NOT order the large unless you really want to have LOTS of leftovers.We just took a party of four there, stuffed our faces, loaded some leftovers, and honest to Dog *laughed* about the bill. (Do *not* tell the owners I said that.)

OMG! This place was awesome!!! Came here for lunch and what a gem! Love the atmosphere and decor of a small diner. Service was excellent and the food was so fresh and delicious. Parking is a bit trickery because of the location. We actually parked in the CVS parking lot and walked across. But definitely if in the area make sure to stop in. Only place to find Crazy Noodles which my husband couldn't stop talking about. Mixture of large noodles with fresh veggies.

Quick & friendly service, food was very fresh and delicious, the diner space was small but was really clean. Duck green curry, basil fried rice, and chicken laab hit the spot! Great 95 traffic detour and will be back :D

Cute diner coach style restaurant. Had pad Thai, basil rice, spicy chicken, spicy veggies and scallion pancake. Finished with fried banana and sticky rice with mango. Food was average. Service was decent and fast.

Authentic Thai food at its best! Max and the cooks are always so attentive and caring. This place is a hidden gem in our hood

Coming here for years (even though it is several towns away) and Max and crew never disappoint. If we lived closer we eat at Lanna Thai multiple times a week! I'm a very visual person and I love that there are photos for some menu items on the menu (as well as Yelp) I suggest coming with a group of people and sharing/trying many different entrees.

I wanted to like this place more but their pad Thai was really dry and even had a hair in it (that didn't match my hair color or length) quite disappointed in the food. The people working there were nice and it was made on time. The ambiance is fun inside atleast.

We went early on a Saturday and were one of the only 2 tables. The chef and waiter were talking amongst themselves and blatantly laughed at me and made a huge joke of me chugging a glass of water. Minus how rude they were by thinking I wouldn't understand them and doing it so blatantly in front of me..the food was pretty bland. We really love Thai chili basil in Melrose and had heard great things about this place but won't be coming back.

Small restaurant, excellent food. Had crab rangoons, scallion pancakes and pad thai. Everything was delicious and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered the drunken noodle which did not have enough sauce or flavor. Portion size was small.
