Recently, LaMei started doing AYCE lunch, and we decided we had to go for it because we like AYCE so much. The other draw was they included meat with their all you can eat price, which isn't always the case at other hotpot places which give you all you can eat noodles, veggies, fish balls, etc. but make you pay for seafood and meat. We arrived at around 12:30 on a Sunday and it was BUSY. I'd recommend getting there a bit earlier but it wasn't too bad. We were seated and waited a bit for menus, put in our first order, and got our broth and food around 1pm. After that, the service was really good and we got our refills very quickly, which was amazing because from what we could tell, they only really had 2 front of house staff that day. There was one woman who would wheel around a cart with food orders and hand them out to tables while another woman took orders, put them into the computer, refilled water, refilled broths, and picked up extra plates/answered questions. It was really amazing how much they were able to get done with just the two of them, but they probably could use at least one more front of house staff still to make it easier on them because they were basically everywhere. As for the food, we got the spicy veg broth and the bone broth. The spicy broth was much too spicy for me but had a lot of good flavor while the bone broth was really flavorful and added some nice taste to the ingredients we put in it. I've had other bone broths that were mild but this one was really good on taste. The veggies were fresh and came with a good amount, and the meat was some of the better AYCE hotpot meat we've had. The beef was very beefy and had a nice distribution of meat and fat on it, and the lamb actually tasted like lamb. A lot of places have lamb that just tastes like pork of beef but you could very easily distinguish the lamb here, and the bone broth made the flavor really pop.For sauces, they had a good variety of ingredients - I made mine with chili oil, sesame oil, cilantro, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, and black vinegar and it was very good. My partner made one with sesame paste, green onion, and peanuts and then another one with garlic, chili oil, and green onions. They also had some miscellaneous ingredients at the sauce bar as well as oranges for dessert. The menu was also pretty good - for the AYCE basic price, there were a lot of options and while we didn't order the shrimp, it looked like it came without shells on at other tables, so we will get it next time (we didn't want to peel shrimp at a hotpot place, but turns out you didn't have to). The tofu skin was also practically like tofu noodles which was a very cool texture and addition to the hotpot. All in all, 4/5 - the food was good and the service was nice for what they had, but I think it'd probably a lot smoother of a lunch service with at least one more front of house staff. We were also seated in an area where my seat was kind of blocked in and I had to ask two people to move if I were to get out of my seat and go to the sauce bar, so the space is a little cramped. But all in all this is definitely a nice place with good tasting food for a good price, so we will be back!

LaMei offers both hotpot and bbq. We decided to go with just hotpot this day. For soup bases, we did two: spicy and house special. We ordered what we typically order which is spicy marinated beef, ribeye beef, brown sugar rice rolls, and napa. The spicy marinated beef was interesting because it seems that they pound pepper seeds into the meat, which I honestly did not find enjoyable eating. We definitely struggled to finish it.For fish, we ordered the carp fish, instead of our usual white fish because our server suggested it to us. The fish was okay... we probably would have liked the white fish more but it was nice to try. Overall, this place is nothing special for hotpot. It was not my favorite place. The soup bases were not that flavorful nor spicy either. Our server was super nice though but I am not sure if I would come back here to eat since there are many other hotpot places that are better.

The service here is great and I love that they have a coat rack and protectors to keep the hot pot smells out of our jackets. Beware that the sauce bar costs extra per person. Caution on the spice as well; they're not playing around. The bone broth and the premium spicy broth are both really good, but the spicy one was definitely spicy. We got the medium, but we might try the mild next time. The snowflake short rib, the napa cabbage, the meatballs, and beef tongue were all super delicious. I highly recommend it!

Tried this place the other day and it was sooo good! It's a bit pricy because you have to order the items individually but the quality was so good. We ordered half portions on a lot of the meats and they give a lot. It's comparably to a full portion at other hotpot places. The ambiance is nice and good for casual or special occasion. Our server was also really sweet despite it being busy. My friend asked me to go back already

This was my first hot pot experience! We came in pretty late on a Sunday night, and were given a table immediately. Overall, I would say this was a good experience - of what we ordered, I enjoyed everything. However, I wish we were given a bit more guidance on how much to order. We both left a bit hungry - but didn't order more because it seemed they were cleaning up for the night. However, definitely interested to try again and try more variety!

Huge shout out to the most awesome waiter -A Tan ( hope I got his name right... Omg I'm getting old, can't remember his name right now!). Service here is great, very attentive. A Tan even went out of his way to help me with an unusual request even though I was not assigned to him. So if you stop by and are lucky enough to get seated in his section, you'll get great service that's typically not found in Chinese restaurants ( sad but true). Now onto the food. I had the bone broth with tofu combo and bunch of vegetables. Everything tasted great. You can make your own sauce at the sauce bar. I was in the mood for vegetable soup, so this hotpot definitely hit the spot. Overall, a great dinner. The only con of this place is that it's quite expensive. I spent over $50 for just 1 person

Hotpot is top notch, and they do half-portions of as well which makes it much more affordable to get good hotpot with 2-3 people, instead of needing a large party.

Went there for dinner. I can't believe you charge for the sauce bar for a hot pot place. There were 6 of us and tacking on an extra $18 for sauce is just appalling. Do you expect people to bring their own sauce? Or not use any sauce while eating hot pot? I sincerely hope you rethink how you charge for soy sauce (which was empty and no one was checking the sauces). I might let it go if you charged each table the $3 fee for sauce but you should not charge each person. The sauce bar was just sauce, some edamame and garlic/cilantro/green onions. Place was crammed (you can barely navigate between the tables) and you feel like you've been steamed with hot pot sauce after you leave. Overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food and overall experience was disappointing.
