Lakeside Grill Estrella

Lakeside is an amazing restaurant. Their twisted Cesar salad has pasta twists, and is one of the most delicious salads I have ever had. The lakeside burger and the fig burger are out of this world. Anything I have had here is always incredibly good. So happy they are now open more days. The atmosphere is beautiful, service always friendly and very accomodating, not overly noisy like many places. This place is defenitely a gem.

They had great take out service. The food was good as well. I look forward to trying them again.

As residents of Estrella, we have eaten here a few times, and we have generally been satisfied with the food quality. It's not stellar, but usually above par for similar small restaurants. The prices are a tad high, considering the portion sizes, which are on the skimpy side. Example: $16.95 for 3 pieces of bruschetta. $25+ for most dinner entrees. The ambiance is okay, quiet but cramped. The patio is nice, with the view of the lake. They do have umbrellas, not sure about water misters. Service has been satisfactory, we were impressed with that on our very first visit. All that said, we are doubting whether we will be returning. Last week we came in at 5:45 on a Friday, the first question to us was "Do you have a reservation?" No, we didn't. We peered in and saw at least two empty tables, which I can only surmise they were "holding" for said reservations. They offered us the high-top table in the entryway where they fold their napkins, basically it's open to the lobby. Um, no. I don't really want to watch the guy on the stair-step exercise machine while I eat my $80-100 meal. We asked how long the wait would be, they said "about 20 minutes". So we sat down in the lobby and waited. After 35 minutes of waiting (after watching people leave and no one being seated for "reservations"), we left. Not worth it, considering the high prices. We took our business down the hill and enjoyed a nice dinner elsewhere.

The food was good. The ambiance was nice. The service was good. Nothing to write home about, but a nice quiet lunch location with decent food. We both had the trio, which came with fruit, a side salad, and a scoop of the chicken salad with cranberries. All of it was ok. The lettuce was kind of old and browning on one of ours and a little in mine as well. The bruschetta was ok, but having just had it at Queen Creek Olive Mill over the weekend that was tough since Queen Creek's was so much better. A little bit pricey at $16 for 3 pieces, but I wanted to try it.

When we arrived, we saw the "Residents Only" sign. It was a deterrent for my boyfriend, but to me, the sign may as well have said, "Come on in". I called the restaurant, and it was probably the nice lady at the front desk who answered and reassured me that we were welcome here. There was no wait at all. Indoor and outdoor seating was available and there were a few diners enjoying their Sunday brunch. The hours are limited, I wish they were longer. The following is why:The grill itself has an ambiance you wouldn't want to miss. You have views of the sparkling lake with palm trees and kayakers. You can hear the water running. You can see joggers running along the path and ducks. I don't know what it's like in the summer, as there is a water park and a swimming pool right next to the outdoor dining.I ordered a burger and a prickly pear mimosa, with a side of fruit. The bun was toasty and buttery- how I like it. The mimosa was the right amount of sweet, and was plenty though it appeared to be in a small glass. The fruit was plump and fresh. The restaurant was moderately priced and I would go here again.

The shrimp tacos were bomb! Oh, and the view. There was a remote control sailboat race on the lake while I was there.

Always delicious food and awesome service. A hidden gem. I'm highly recommend. As for the ambiance there is seasonal outdoor patio seating overlooking the lake and poolside. The inside is a basic hotel lobby feel. I highly recommend. Also Thursday is prime rib special night.

I took my wife here for our Anniversary. It was a drive but looked really good on Yelp. Upon arriving, it was not quite what I expected because it was inside of a private club. I kind of felt I out of place. Still, it is a nice restaurant.When I had reserved on the phone, I told the young l lady that it was our wedding anniversary and asked for a nice table. When we arrived, we were seated at a small table in the rear corner of the restaurant even though there were tables near the window that were open. I wanted better for my wife, so I asked server and was told that they couldn't reserve certain tables. Still, she did reseat us near the window I did appreciate that.It did take a while before our drink orders were taken but once ordered came out quickly as did our food. I ordered a Filet Mignon with Bearnaise and my wife ordered a Shrimp Skewer. Both were pleasing. The server did ask us about dessert but we opted out. Unfortunately, I would have enjoyed another drink, but was never asked. The service was kind of lax and the menu limited but still it is a nice restaurant for an occasional nice evening out.

My expectations were not very high for this residents lakeside grill. THEY BLEW IT OUT OF THE WATER!!!!! We got the chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy as well as the croissant sandwich. EVERYTHING WAS SOOOOOOOO FLAVORFUL! Truly! Everything the chef is making is so incredibly good. I honestly can't wait toGo back and try more dishes. I was so impressed!!!

Assistant manager Jackie was very rude :( super disappointing. I loved the food but she was one stuck up lady. Do not recommend coming here if you want a bad experience...
