A great addition to the Lake Zurich area. We thought everything we tried on the menu was excellent. Well balanced flavors, good selection of choices--some Italian, some fish and a good selection of beef/bison/pork. Fun drink menu and a solid dessert options.For a fine dining restaurant prices were very reasonable especially when you take in the portions of the dishes. Honestly my wife's halibut schnitzel was two entrees. My bolognese was hearty and didn't skimp on flavorful wagu beef. Plus who would think halibut schnitzel could be so light and crispy.Highly recommend.Slight improvements would be parking and seating space. I'm not a valet guy. Adjacent tables were a little too comfy for me.Regardless we will be heading back. Good job

My wife and I were thrilled to celebrate our anniversary with a lovely dinner at Lago. We moved from the city two years ago and both have experience in the service industry, so one of the things we've missed most are the restaurants. We're delighted that Lago opened up right near our doorstep. The ambiance, service, and food were absolutely top-notch!Special shout-out to the busser, who often doesn't get enough recognition for their efforts. He made sure our table was spotless throughout the night.

Hands down. The best dining experience in the NWBurbs! Our server, Mike, was amazing and graciously walked us through our caviar flight. Filet was cooked to perfection, rigatoni alla vodka and as exceptional! Cocktails and wine were on point. We especially appreciated the table side fresh mozzarella and tomato salad! Delicious!

Chef Fabio does it again! We came by for dinner one night to experience all that Lago has to offer. Upon arrival, the parking lot and the front entrance is a little confusing as it's somewhat in a triangle shaped parking lot. The first time we passed through we drove past the valet parking 2 times before we realized it was complimentary and that there weren't many self park parking spots.Once we were entered, we were invited into this modern dining room. It was a relaxing atmosphere and the music wasn't too loud where you could still hear each other talk. To start we got the pecorino bread, to say that you HAVE to get this bread not just because of how delicious it is, but also because of the honey butter combo. You won't regret it. If I could eat bread all day everyday this would be that bread. Then we had the Tableside Caprese. I love me some fresh tomatoes and cheese. What more could you ask for! It's even pulled slice and decorated right in front of you. I've had the famous Fabio Meatball at Bar Siena, and of course has to get it here. It was HUGE. Perfect to share, not dry and full of flavor, and the short rib bolognese was delightful. The portion was great to share, and was full of short rib throughout. This was plenty to keep us full! We also tried a few of their sides - the standout was the mac and cheese. The cheese pull alone says a lot about how great it is. It's creamy, rich and you just can't stop eating it. The drinks were also super fun. They have a vast amount of mocktails too. All in all we had a fun experience and can't wait to come back soon to try out more on the menu!

I love Bar Siena so I was very excited Fabio expanded his venture. And for good reasons.Also, they have complementary valet, so save your time trying to find parking lolThe pecorino bread is something I never knew I needed in my life and I'm sad I didn't order like 5 to go. The crispy crust with fluffy bread inside, and paired with the honey butter. Perfection in every way.Fresh mozzarella for Caprese salad, table side...say less. The wagyu meatball is always a favorite of mine from Bar Siena so it was a no brainer for me. I really liked the wagyu short rib bolognese too. I like the paccheri pasta, makes it easier to eat as opposed to say like a pappardelle or something long. I was very surprised with the halibut schnitzel. Fish is cooked perfectly and the sauce + schnitzel crunch was perfect. The Mac and cheese had a crazy cheese pull. It was creamy and rich, but not too heavy. When I saw shrimp scampi, I thought regular pasta dish. However the description says otherwise. It was shrimp over polenta! The prawns are big and delicious with the polenta! I always like veggies with my meals, the broccolini and mushrooms were perfect accompaniments to the meal. The broccolini were perfectly charred and not overcooked. The mushrooms were so good in the veal Demi! There are a few things I wanna come back and try! And for sure get the pecorino bread to go haha

Full disclosure, I had no idea who Fabio was before this event. I soon became aware that this guy is an absolute baller! In case you were wondering, he is as genuine and cool in person as you would think he would be. Extremely personable, handsome, funny, and very much about the place, visiting with multiple tables at Lago. The first thing you will notice about Lago is that there IS a parking lot, whether there are any spots available is an entirely different matter. This place is very popular, so best bet is to use the complimentary valet, and be sure to tip.Lago is money. Success attracts success and money. You will see luxurious and exotic cars in the parking lot, you will see luxurious and exotic people in the restaurant. It is what it is.No expense was spared as Fabio welcomed YE B&G to his home away from home. I am not going to lie, YE B&G is definitely a sweet group to be a part of when it comes to events like this one. We were a group about a dozen big, set up just off the bar outside on the covered patio area with the sun working on going down in the west. The menu was predecided and what a menu it was, see my photo of it. Some of my faves off the menu this night were the Spanish Mediterranean Octopus, Fabio's Wagyu Meatball, the Wagyu Short Rib Bolognese, the Pork Chop; and I'm not a big meat guy. The Polenta sauce with the Shrimp Scampi was a real tease, we look forward to trying some more of that; and that table side preparation of the Caprese salad was a real treat. For a starter cocktail, I selected the tres amigos, a house blend of both blanco and anejo tequila with mezcal and then smoked. It was delicious, see my video. The inside of the restaurant is tight in an intimate way with a mix of seating options to choose from. The staff are plentiful, professional, and very friendly and accommodating. As crowded and as busy as it was, we did not wait for anything. When the food came out, it came out on ginormous platters in a very orderly fashion with quality assurance and uniform design and presentation. These folks know what they are doing, they have it down, they have a process, they love what they do, and they are very good at it. Having said all of that, like I mentioned before, I am not a big meat guy, not sure if it was that, or the overall richness of the food, or what; but I was feeling it afterwards. Maybe it was all too much too soon, I don't know, but I turned to my Underberg at home in the bar for some relief, and it seemed to help.I would like to return to Lago and explore more of the soup/salad and seafood options on the menu and see if I have better luck next time. If you are looking for a unique celebrity dining experience, to see or be seen, or a venue to impress, look no further than Lago. You are in good hands with Chef Fabio and his team. This has to be the best restaurant in Lake Zürich. I recently went to Lago for a girls night out and had an absolutely wonderful experience. We had made reservations ahead of time and were quickly seated. I love that they have complimentary valet parking. Chef Fabio Viviani and his team have done a fantastic job of opening an amazing restaurant for us suburban people. It has a downtown restaurant feeling without the crazy traffic and the cramped spaces. The food here was a 10/10! Liked everything we ordered on the menu and there's so many great choices for seafood, vegetarian, pasta, and meats. We had the Bruschetta, French toast, Tuna Crudo, Lobster Mac n Cheese, Miso Cod, Shrimp Scampi, Charred Broccolini, Truffle Fries, Sweet Street Corn, Strawberry Tres Leches , and Fabio's Tiramisu . I highly recommend you try out this spot. This is going to become your new favorite. I cannot wait to go back and visit again and try other things on the menu. Get your reservations, this place is busy.
