Lady G's Canteen

Lady G's Canteen is absolutely flavorful and delicious. Each bite of food was literally melting in my mouth full of flavor. I got the OG plate that included a grilled chicken kebab, pork and noodles rice, and it was absolutely wonderful! You can find these guys at the Carlsbad farmers market, as well as the Oceanside farmers market make sure and give them some love!

They are open at Grossmont center food court. See their LED open sign on the counter? It's a dying breed, the food court.. you have to do what you need to do.I came here for their vegan menu. I've had Lady G as a street vendor before and now just felt like I needed good vegan food. Their menu is a bit confusing.. I didn't know what the steamed food was. Was it under the lids of the serving trays? I knew I wanted more than just lumpia and since they had a sign that said "vegan pancit and lumpia" I just ordered it.They make the lumpia fresh. I needed to wait about 10 minutes and I was OK with that. I ordered to go so when I opened up my container in the car, I took a bite out of the lumpia and it was steamy! But I was hungry!! You get three and they are the size of eggrolls. The pancit was a bit salty for me.. but isn't the presentation beautiful??

It feels like forever since there's been a Filipino restaurant in my area and I was really happy to try this one. I was definitely not disappointed. They have both vegan and meat options to choose from. I've been by a couple times now and everything I've tried has been tasty and fresh. It's especially nice knowing that I don't have to drive far to get a fix. The service is good and friendly. They're located in the food court near the restrooms and water fountain. While the menu is somewhat small, it's still got a lot of people's favorite options like lumpia, pancit, and bbq skewers. If you're in the area it's worth checking out!

We became vegan in 2019 and I have been missing Filipino food. The hardest part about being a vegan is getting the childhood food you crave but veganized. That quickly changed when I discovered Lady G! When I get the vegan lumpia for parties or family events, everyone loves the those more than the beef or pork ones! Her cooking tastes just like my mom's and I can't even tell the difference. Lady G, you make being a vegan easy and so delicious! Thank you!!!!

Lady G's is the best Filipino cuisine in town! Fresh ingredients- mostly locally sourced, and most importantly you can actually taste the love and passion Cooked right into everything. I'm so glad to see this business thriving and becoming a storefront Try all the different lumpia and the Adobo and pancit and Always a smash hit.

I have been following Lady G and her team for a number of years now. It started out when I was craving Filipino food, but in particular I was searching for vegan/vegetarian alternatives. I was so happy to have found them at the Hillcrest Farmers Market! During the time I was more strict about being vegetarian, their food hit the spot! I am currently not as strict about being vegetarian, but they always have plenty of options to choose from, whether it be lumpia, breakfast bowls, pancit, or specials of the day.
