Was on a nice trip to Chicago when our group decided to have a nice dinner together. We ended choosing La Victoria Barra. What a wonderful, experience we had. The restaurant is so cute and they played good music if a little loud. The staff was absolutely wonderful, and super helpful with all of our questions. The drinks were great and the food was even better! Everything that was brought to the table was just delicious. We ended the night off with dessert and I would easily go back!

Love this place. We go often, food is really solid Mexican, with a few unique items like their spread of cocktails, margaritas, and tlayudas, and variations on classics. Also nice for kids, not run over by kids, but they have a really good kids menu and a nice back patio to give some space. Highly recommend!

I'm not sure if i'd go here again. i went for my friends birthday and it was nice that they were able to take us in even though we arrived 30 minutes late to our reservation due to traffic and lack of parking. it took about 40 or 45 minutes to get our food and we only got tacos.... not to mention the carne asada was hard to chew and the amount of meat you get is really small and not worth the price. One of the party guests at our table didn't even get beans and rice when it said on the menu that it comes with it. Idk i've worked at a taco place before and it's insane that it takes that long to make 2 tacos Below is what we got and how much it was for us. Gratuity was added and we just split it amongst us all.

Inside there was a lottt of space and I don't think you need a reservation although we had one. They are known for their margs and my favorite was the passion fruit one. They have flights for $30. I also got the tacos that were pretty tasty but my favorite was the shrimps tacos. 110% recommend those. The service was friendly and quick as well.

Stumbled on this place on a Sunday afternoon. It very beautiful and colorful inside. Additionally they have two seating areas (off Milwaukee and rear patio). If I return then I will try the rear patio. This time we sat at the bar. I grabbed a Don Julio Passion Fruit Marg with sugar rim. It was good. My husband grabbed a coffee cocktail (carajilo) that he modified with whiskey. He definitely enjoyed that. I will say that they have a wide variety of tequila. There was some margaritas that were taken from the tap. I believe those are the Happy Hour Margaritas. I just prefer a hand shaken margaritas. The bartender was so nice and informative. Thanks Becca for the easy going conversation and thoughtful cocktails. For food, my husband grabbed two tacos. He needed some food to soak up the Sunday Funday booze. Will come back here to try their Happy Hour which is Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday (5 to 7pm).

Excellent service... wonderful food and fun ambiance! We tried a little of everything and it was all delicious from the Mexican pizza with Carne Asada to the Fish Tacos to the Milanese Tostada to finally the very light and yummy Avocado Toast! They play a variety of wonderful Latin music making the place so much fun!Aaaaaand as if the food and ambiance wasn't enough... what pushed them to 5 Star Status for me was the wonderful service. Plenty of drink refills, friendly staff and at the end of the meal, a free shot of tequila to send us off. Will definitely be back!!

Came here for their restaurant week $25 Brunch Special where you get to choose an appetizer, entree, + dessert! The pitcher we got was $50. I loved how they celebrated my friend and made her feel special with a tiara and sash along with coming out to sing her happy birthday with complementary shots for the table. THATS how you do it!!!The place itself is cute and spacious- parking was very hard to find though. Food wise.. i wasn't blown away but I'd be willing to give them another opportunity. The queso w chorizo was yummy though - best part. The steak, potatoes, & eggs lacked flavor. All 3 of us ordered it and they mixed up the way we requested them cooked so we didn't know whose plate was whose. I ended having a bloody steak that I asked to be cooked more (medium well) and because it was the same steak it came back dry. I was disappointed there. The pitcher didn't do anything to us sadly - we went to another bar for another drink after. Highly suggest to make it a bit stronger for the price/quantity. When it came to dessert they ran out of all of their options given on special menu BUT they let us choose from their regular dessert menu which was nice so I chose the churro beignets which were great!

Came here with great expectations since the pictures looked amazing. I was here with family (a group of 5). Let me start by saying that the restaurant was fairly empty. It took our server about 15 min to greet us and then once he took our drink orders, it took another 15 minutes to actually get them. I ordered the Mexican Candy margarita which was pretty good. As I was drinking it, I notice there is a bug - yes a bug and not even a cicada lol. Anyway, we flag down the waiter and I show him the bug, he's like "o yeah, it's a bug" takes my drink and doesn't even offer an apology. We then ask him if there are chips and salsa that get brought to table and he says "no, we don't give out chips and salsa. We just accepted and kept it moving. At this point we have been sitting at our table for about 40 min and no one has taken our order. One of the people in my party then notices that the kitchen has a sign (in pictures) that reads "Every table gets chips and salsa". We then wave him down and ask AGAIN. We point to the sign and he said he needs to ask because they don't do that. What?!?! So he comes back and says that the sign was recently put up and he had no idea that it was up. Our food arrives, I ordered the quesa birria tacos as those are my fave. They arrive BURNT. Not crispy, not juicy BURNT. Pictures are also included. The meat was black the tortilla was like a mini taco and they were dry. The consommé was cold and the rice was cold and soggy. The beans were dry and were gross. My family got the cochinita pibil and it was dry. The shrimp tacos lacked flavor and the tortilla wasn't even warmed thoroughly. Overall, it was an awful experience. I wish I could give it less than one star but that isn't an option. I wish that as a fellow Mexican I could really advocate for a business but I just cannot given the experience. The waiter did try and redeem himself by giving us churros, on the house. I have to admit, that's the ONLY thing that was pretty darn good. They were crispy and warm. The caramel dipping sauce was really good.

I tried La Victoria on a whim with my sister when we were in the area one random Tuesday. We came in around 7ish and were seated immediately. The inside is a cool vibe; it's a dim lit medium sized space and was decorated in Christmas decor. I definitely feel like I'm at a Mexican restaurant here! Our server was also super chill and nice, and the bussers are so good at making sure your table is clean. Sadly the food here is what prompted me to leave 3/5 stars. Guacamole: 5.5/10 - it wasn't terrible, but not great. It was over-the-top limey and that's coming from someone who loves a little extra lime in dishes, this also made it a tad watery. It has julienned radish and halved cherry tomatoes in it. It was pretty small too and didn't come with a lot of chips. The accompanying smaller salsas were pretty good, though. Queso fundido - 6/10. It just wasn't what we expected. Yes it's fundido so it's not your regular more melted queso, but still it just wasn't that great. It was really small/thin layered and served with only 3 tortillas. I feel like it should be served with 4 tortillas so it's even, otherwise that only works for a group of 3. The tortillas were super yummy and hot though.Cocktail flight - 7.5/10. We just got 2 regular margs and then 2 Mexican Candy drinks. The regular marg was super strong I could barely sip it (which yes that's good it's strong lol, but it was hard to drink and kind of bitter). The Mexican Candy one came with a lollipop and was sweet & good, but nothing super amazing or out of the ordinary. These cocktails were draft cocktails too.Overall I don't think I'd return, but I'm glad I gave this place a try.

What a great restaurant week find! Made reservations for brunch on a Saturday for five people. We had to wait a bit to get seated but enjoyed all the photo opp spots throughout the restaurant while we waited. They really thought out the decor throughout. Restaurant is very spacious and looks like they have patio seating too.Now the vibes......whoever put on that playlist that day was really giving out party/happyness vibes. Loved the variety of music which was all Latin and not just Reggeaton, there is plenty of great music by other Latinos and this restaurant knows it. We almost broke out in dance with the staffService was phenomenal! Alex was our server and she "got us". I could see she was getting quite busy but she was always helpful and the rest of the staff was just as helpful. Marcos was a delight to just add to our time there and even offered to take some of our pics. Food for restaurant week was delicious and a great deal for $25 for a 3 course meal. I rarely have a good Mimosa and can say that this spot hit the mark with it. We had queso fundido and guacamole for apps, the steak and eggs were Alex's recommendation but the chilaquiles were just as yummy. Our desserts were an Abuelita tart which was something different and yet delicious and a Tres Leches cake. My one piece of feedback on the Tres Leches cake is I expected the cake to be a bit more moist. It was still delicious, but our table had a convo about what makes a Tres Leches cake and the unanimous decision is the milk on the plate.
