La Vaca Margarita Bar

Went on a Sunday night and there was a good crowd with good music. They did bring me the wrong order and when the check came they added a beer bottle that i did not order.Torta Honestly surprised with the food. Good portion size and flavor and especially for the price.Passion fruit margarita Has great flavor but a bit on the light side, more of a juice than an alcoholic beverage

Just don't come here. Margaritas were way below average, tasted like straight margarita mix. My tacos were worse. The steak tasted like Taco Bell which is upsetting because La Vaca is surrounded by real, authentic Latin food. My boyfriend ordered the Chorizo burrito and was presented a different burrito with bacon in it. He ate it without saying anything because he didn't want to cause a commotion. He only ate less than half of it. The potatoes were okay, my boyfriend said they were horrible. The waitress didn't charge for my bottomless drinks. I'm not sure if she thought we would add that cost to her tip or what, but she was weird for that. TMI‼: I threw it up afterwards

Celebrated cinco de mayo here with margs, tacos, and good vibes! We got there around 1pm - the dining area was packed but the outside was pretty empty. The wait for a table was 2 hours.... As time went by, the entire patio was filled with people. My only complaint was that there was only like 2-3 tables out on the patio so we had to use chairs to put our pitchers on. Bar service was a little slow. They were selling margs pitchers on the rocks for like $30 each so we were drinking those all day. All that sugar gave me a headache at the end of the day.When we finally got a table, we were starving! Food came out in a timely manner surprisingly. I shared nachos and tacos with my bf. The nachos were good but not what I was expecting. It was basically cut up flour tortillas baked or fried with toppings and there were only like 10 pieces. The tacos were decent. The food is like your typical bar quality food so I wasn't expecting much.

We went on a Sunday at 4 pm. We were able to walk in and get seated in the patio area. It was a really nice day outside, so it was great to get a patio seat on a bustling Sunday. So I didn't realize this was like an actual "bar." I just assumed that was the name. I figured it out after we were carded. But security was cool. We just didn't know. We were seated promptly, and we ordered quickly (waitress seemed rushed, tho). The food came out FAST! I'm talking lightening speed fast! We just ordered steak tacos and margaritas. Both were good. I would go back here for the ambiance and vibe.

Really enjoyed la vaca! Stopped by here before a show at Thalia hall, and based on the look of the place we didn't have super high expectations for the food but we were pleasantly surprised! The guacamole was good, and the 2 salsas they brought out were also great. The orangey salsa was delicious, kind of a chipotle flavor, I keep thinking about it, lol. The tacos were great, and margarita was typical

La Vaca is a fun spot to start your night out in Pilsen with friends. Went for Taco Tuesday and wasn't too crowded and the service was great. The margaritas are alright, but the Big Boss taco is what keeps me coming back. We started with one and ended up ordering 6 each. They are just that good!

Been here multiple times! & the food continues to be the only reason we return. The enchiladas de mole are authentic and delicious. The tacos are great, big & enough varieties. Guacamole is also very good.The ambience is loud, very busy & no reservations are allowed. When it's very busy the other half of the restaurant by the bar will have people behind you standing as you dine. Once again, it is a bar so keep that in mind. Making your way to the bathroom is also another hassle. Only 2 stalls available. The bartenders for the most part won't service you unless you wave at them or hound them down. Went in on a Saturday, they did "last call" more than 40 minutes prior to closing. Then one bartender decided to say no more serving. While the bar continued to be packed. Very unprofessional and rude. Once again, customer service here lacks and is subpar but we come for the food only.

I've been to the bar across from La Vaca several times and I would always see this place bumpin with business. So, I got invited out last night for tacos with friends, I was excited. Yeah NAWL. It wasn't what I expected.First the positive: the margaritas were delicious. We got two pitchers. For $30 each it was worth it. Also the DJ player house music. I was with it. Service: the hostess was great. Was about the only friendly person we encountered besides the lady in the bathroom that offers guests towels. Our waiter was dry, expedient and very slow! Never checked on our table. Not even when the food first arrived. When asked what the ceviche consisted of he didn't even answer me. So I said shrimp? Fish? What? He said "yeah it's either or". Like dude are you there? Hello? The food- my carne asade tacos were tough and lacked flavor. The veggie taco was good. The beans and rice were not good. I would probably come back to try something else if asked to join friends but I'm not coming back on my own choice.

Their pastor tacos basically gave me food poisoning. My bf had asada and it was fine. Drinks are better than their food too. Don't think I'll go back again ...

The tacos were fairly priced and very tasty. I had a fish taco on a flour tortilla and the al pastor on a corn tortilla. I like that the toppings and tortilla choice seemed to be thought out -- they tasted very well balance. I feel like on a good day I could've crushed 6+ tacos.I also got a tamarind margarita which was very tart and sweet - super concentrated. They let you choose between salt and sugar for the rim. Not my favorite tamarindo margarita in Pilsen, but solid. I thought $13 was a decent price.The restaurant was spacious, with plenty of patio seating. Very easy to order and eat here. The service and food was fast enough for my friend and I to sit down and eat when we were in a semi-rush. Overall I had a positive experience. I think I would sooner try some different spots in Pilsen before I came back here, but I would be open to returning.
