I went here my entire childhood and the ice creams and toys? Pure satisfaction. If you ever get hungry for a snack go here!

I tried the tamales. They were just OK. Not the best. Not the worst. They were neither cold nor hot which worried me. Maybe because late in the day, they were cooling off to close. Hope I have not made a mistake.

La Placita is just like walking into a Mexican home and being asked to join them for dinner. This is not Mexican restaurant food; this is the Mexican KITCHEN meal a grandma whips up. The people are really nice and the meals are lovingly made as well. This is as authentic as it gets. The tamales are highly recommended (especially the dessert ones with the sweet corn inside).

This place is the best for fresh tamales on a Sunday afternoon. The owner makes four types of fresh tamales and only charges a dollar each. Came home and ate a two dollar dinner, I can really taste the love eating these. Highly recommended, they also offer the herbs, spices, dry goods and canned goods you would expect in a small store.

It looks like a while since someone reviewed on here. I was looking for tamales and found this. I tried calling but the phone is no longer in service. I took the chance and drove here since I was somewhat passing by. They are still here! Fresh/warm tamales on Sundays, and you can find refrigerated ones during the week. They are $1.25 each. They had several kinds red or green chiles with chicken or pork, jalapeno with cheese, and a mole one (I don't know what as in that I'm not a mole fan so I lost interest. I got 2 red chile with pork (they were out of chicken) and 2 green chiles with chicken. The green chile ones were my favorite. The red chile had a kick and I'm a wimp at spicy. The masa was just perfect. Was nice and soft/smooth. I hate having tamales that are hard and dry. Will definitely be going back.
