The flavors aren't for me... I can see how the flavors could be good for someone else since the spices were strong. We got a quesadilla which ended up not having cheese since I think it was an empanada of some sort. Got the light red mole but it had such a strong charred chili flavor. The chicken in the mole was super dry so you gotta balance it with the mole.... Lastly, got the memelita but the beans/base has a licorice like flavor that was unappetizing for me. Service is super kind, but knowing some Spanish helps (I know very basic).

Great experience. I loved the Chicken Mole. Wife is a little picky, and we didn't realize everything was corn where as she likes flour. I enjoyed her leftover s next day si 4 stars

My wife and I were looking for brunch when this restaurant popped up. I saw the banana leaf tamale pics and we hopped in the car.Our waitress didn't speak English ( which is ok. It means we're in the right place.) when I asked about the banana leaf tamales the waitress didn't seem to understand. I ordered what I thought was a tyaludes. I thought they came with rojo mole. ( I've never had them but want to try new things. I completely misunderstood). An absolutely gorgeous plate of mole coloraditos arrived with rice, chicken absolutely smothered in mole sauce and steaming hot tortillas. I enjoyed every bite. The waitress gave amazing service, despite the language barrier (I regret not learning Spanish). We can't wait to go back and order more. They have plenty of food we have yet to try.

Half of my wife's family is from Oaxaca, so we have been all over that State enjoying its food and culture. La Oaxaqueña replicates the Mexican experience in exactitude--what a true blessing! All their hand made cuisine is bona-fide in terms of flavors and preparation, and there are items on the menu that you will definitely never find anywhere else in the US. For the less adventurous folks, you can also order tacos and burritos, but don't hesitate to try an actual Oaxaqueñan menu item--you will be instantly hooked! Thanks to the lovely people who run La Oaxaqueña--you are our go-to restaurant!!!

This strip mall restaurant is a bit different but we'll worth the adventure. A local hangout where we were not familiar with the cuisine, it was worth asking questions to try foods outside our comfort zone. Add that to the top-notch guacamole, the culinary experience was fantastic!

Communication is the name of the game here. Unfortunately it's that their wait staff has very limited English skillsand my Spanish skills were equally lacking. Ordered by picture. It might be great if you know what to order. We chalked it up to experience.

Craving authentic Mexican cuisine without much prior exploration, I serendipitously came across this hidden gem. Accompanied by my Texan mom, accustomed to Tex-Mex flavors, we delved into a delightful meal. Opting for two sopes, one filled with asada and the other with pollo, I reveled in the novelty of this dish with its freshly fried masa base. The guacamole we ordered was undoubtedly fresh and satisfying. The ambient live music added a special touch to our experience; initially mistaking the singer for a radio, we were pleasantly surprised by his talent. Moreover, being able to purchase michelada mix to enjoy at home was a cherry on top. With a plethora of intriguing menu items left to try, a return visit is definitely on the cards.
