La Nueva Michoacana 2 Meat Market

I went to this place and paid for a whole chicken. They absolutely did not give me what I ordered and the fee pieces they gave me did not have any meat on them. I wouldn't get tap water from this place. Never again, buyer beware.

Me and my family shop here a lot. Today they refused to give me a toothpick. Which they didn't have available for sale. When I asked them why they responded toothpicks are for restaurant customers only. This is a one dollar taco shop. I said fine give me one taco and two tooth picks. At this point the clerk became very rude and rushed me to pay. I asked to speak to her manager, a man came from the back and told me not to get angry that it was just "policy". Over a tooth pick? He proceeded to ask me for 2.65 for one taco, i find this insulting because he knew I just wanted a toothpick and that they have 99cent tacos but tried to upcharge me for an item (tooth pick) that should've been free to a repeat kind customer. I spend at least $100 dollars in this store a month. I paid told them to keep the stupid taco, paid for my other items and left. Disgusting. I feel that they are prejudiced against non Spanish speakers because they have always been kind to my Spanish speaking white skinned mother and I got treated like this for wanting ONE single tooth pick.

Was hungry and in the area and saw 1.00 tacos so that got me. I walked in and noticed a plethora of things to order so I decided to try a little bit of everything. I got the the smoked bbq ribs, a chicken tamale, and a few tacos. The food here was bomb and just what I would expect from a hole in the wall. The tamales are wrapped in banana leaves and if u don't know gives the masa a unique taste that is delicious. The bbq ribs were spot on and super juicy and smoky. The tacos were ok not the best but definitely worth a dollar. If imever back in the neighborhood I'll el back forrrrr surrreeee

This place has the BEST tacos and salsa I've EVER had. I used to never want to go in there because the building looks old and ran down but its SOOOOOO fire. So dont let it deter you from going and getting the best tacos in San Diego. I call the salsa, "crack salsa" because I cannot get enough of it.

I have been coming here for years and this place never seizes to amaze me! This is a full market but outside is a full blown authentic taco shop AND BBQ joint! The prices are top notch and they make their own BBQ sauce that they marinate their chicken and ribs with. But WOW! Everything I have tried from here is delicious, totally worth checking it out!

My son and I moved 1 block away and this place takes good care of us. One time they accidentally switched boxes and gave me a box of chicken bones instead of my burrito and when I went back the owner was so apologetic he gave me my order free even though I live only a block away and he also gave me a large order od fries (The large fries has a ton of fries). The cashier is super hot and friendly and the ladies that cook are great also. One of the guys that handles the BBQ is a short older guy who is super cool and friendly and always cooks my ribs and cuts them the way they ask. My only complaint is there is another guy that looks about 40 years old with really white hair and he can be rude. I mean super rude so if you go to get some BBQ chicken or Ribs make sure to talk with the shorter older guy and you cant miss. Dont forget to give em a couple bucks. They dont ask for it but they always appreciate it.The ribs by the way are BBQ's right there with a regular BBQ or marinate but they are cheat. Its $15.00 for a full slab of ribs right off the BBQ and it comes with Tortillas and Beans and RiceMatt

Hidden gem! Love the BBQ here. Feeds my entire family for $15.00. And still have some left over.
