This is a really cute eatery within a neighborhood. Our server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the choripan sandwich, which came with fries. Both very good. We ended our dinner with their drool worthy flan. I regret not taking one to go!

My 100% Italian dad loves this place. He usually goes for pizza but they have tried other menu items as well.

I'm kind of shocked I've never written a review for La Nonna. I mean I lived in the neighborhood for 4 years and went here a handful of times, but nothing is coming up in my list of reviews for here. Well let me just say it here, first and foremost, I think La Nonna is such a unique little lunch spot. The mix of Argentinian and Italian cuisine under one roof makes for some delicious comfort meals you just wanna share with some friends and chill for hours on end talking about nothing. Also not to mention, they make some amazing lattes in-house that you need to try. They have a separate breakfast and lunch menu that you can order from at different times. I believe after 10am their breakfast menu converts to their lunch hours. Even though I went during the lunch hours, I was able to order a hearty sausage skillet that was beautifully presented on an exclusive La Nonna cutting board. The restaurant was bustling for a Saturday afternoon, so it took about 5 mins to get a seat, but the service was always prompt. I love to keep La Nonna in my rotation of food stops to recommend to locals as I think it is a real special place to eat from in Chicago and I sincerely hope it stays in its lowkey area for a while.

A pleasant plans change!! Was originally going to meet friends at a different restaurant but due to poor time management we ended up here!! SUPER glad we did!! When I tell you that the chicken special is the BEST sandwich Ive had in a while I MEAN IT!!! I was blown away by the freshness, flavors and size!! I asked for French fries instead of breakfast potatoes, great choice! The chai latte was delicious! The place is small and cozy. Our server was amazing!! Can't wait to be back!!! Haven't been able to stop thinking about that sandwich!!

We came here for home cooked South American food. We arrived and the restaurant is actually pretty intimate with no more than 10 tables inside , wood paneling everywhere and a small bar. Lots of local argentines come whenever there is a soccer game, which is a good sign it is authentic. They were flexible and let us sit outside even though our table was reserved inside. We started with six empanadas. They were good and even my daughter ate an entire one all by herself. Then I got the veggie skillet which was really delicious and fresh with fried egg on top of oven roasted veggies. My husband got the el pastor sandwhich that he completely finished too. He seemed to appreciate both the French bread and the meat. The portions are huge. Going back I would probably just share next time. Even though it is a little out of the way for us, I would definitely come back.

I was so excited to try this spot after all the reviews and ended up disappointed. I ordered pick-up via Grubhub. The food was ready as scheduled and that was probably the only thing that went well. I ordered a flan but they didn't have any so they offered to swap it out with any other dessert - there was dulce de leche coconut cake, tres leches, and tiramisu. I opted for the tres leches. For mains we ordered the milanesa napolitana and la tana pizza. The milanesa was overly salty and fries were hard and over fried. The only thing I enjoyed was the amount of cheese as a cheese lover, but cheese already has salt so I would have preferred if the steak was further salted. Fries were too crunchy. Milanesa is such an Argentine staple and it was so disappointing. The pizza crust was quite hard on the edges and I wanted a softer crust as well...wasn't cut well so we had to cut further. The center seemed quite thin and stuck to the pizza box when we tried to grab the pizza. The sundried tomatoes added a nice acidic contrast though. We also got sauteed veggies on the side - not bad but also salty. The tres leches was moist on one side and dry and hard on the other. It was also way too sweet and you could feel the sugar particles when eating the meringue on the outside - it should have been throughly incorporated. Maybe it was my mistake ordered tres leches from a non Mexican spot.I'm not sure if I would give this another try.

Ended w the cinnamon roll! To die for!!! Exactly the right amount of cinnamon and sweet. Will love to return!

Overview: this is the perfect, small, casual neighborhood joint for delish food. It's BYOB with no corking fee and we can't wait to come back. We got the chicken, beef and ham and cheese empanadas. The dough was delish, buttery and worth every bite! We always love ham and cheese and this one didn't disappoint with chopped up ham and creamy cheese. we also enjoyed the chicken empanada with the beef coming in last place. The beef was great but we felt the chicken was more flavorful than the beef. Then we shared a garden salad which was simple and full of toppings. Finally, we shared a plain chicken Milanese. It was pounded super thin, the breading was light and crispy and the fires were seasoned well. We can't wait to come back and try the chicken with more of the toppings offered. What a great surprise for a lovely Saturday date night!

I wanted to love it, but la nonna is a no-no for dinner. The meat was very greasy, The pizza bland, and the milanesa also greasy. The empanadas had great flavor, but the ground beef had some big pieces of fatty meat. I hope lunch is as good as the hype.
