Mini tacos de asada review:You can order 1, 3 or 5 which is unusual to order them in odd numbers but actually works. When I opened the container I was delighted to see radishes, grilled jalapeño and guacamole (without an extra charge). The meat wasn't bland but also not the most flavorful but good still. Will definitely be back to try other items. The cashier was friendly, plenty of parking.

I absolutely recommend this place without a doubt. It's a little hole in the wall in university Avenue, San Diego. Their rolled tacos are fire, and I am obsessed with their red salsa. They use fresh ingredients and I know this because I ordered my rolled tacos to go and took about 15 minutes to get where I was going, and when I started eating them, they were so crunchy, still warm and the avocado wasn't brown. Worth every penny. I have also tried the carne asada mini sopes (nothing mini about them), the chicken plate combo and the chorizo plate. 100 stars to them.

While San Diego is the land of great burritos, some places are better than others and La Mesita is definitely in the delicious column. Their burritos are huge, easily two meals worth, and the meat was high quality, perfectly seasoned and crisp fries in the California Burrito, and tasty salsa to accompany the meal. I can't speak to the service or atmosphere as our friends were the ones who actually picked up the food, but they did mention how friendly and generous the staff was. TLDR: Great Cali burrito, huge portions, reasonable pricing.

Picked up La Mesita's for lunch for the first time. The service was fast. We got a bean and cheese burrito, rolled tacos, pollo asado fries, and pollo asado tacos. Prices were a little higher than our usual taco spot but not outrageous. The pollo asado fries were ok, not great. Everything else was just as good as our usual spot. I loved the green hot sauce. Had great flavor and perfect slickness. If our usual place is close again, we will be back!

Well, I hate to do this.. but I think it's necessary. I ordered a California burrito from here once before and it was good. I don't eat guacamole and most places I've been don't put guacamole on a Cali burrito. This time, I didn't remember if I asked for no guacamole the first time, so when I ordered, I didn't specify. I got the burrito and went home and took a bite and it had guacamole. I actually HATE avocado so I drove back. The cashier told me that I didn't ask for no guacamole, which is fine, my mistake. So she told the 2 cooks in the back, apparently one is the "new owner", that I ordered and didn't ask for no guacamole. They were speaking Spanish but I am fluent in Spanish. Which is why I was confused why she even mentioned to them that I didn't ask when I ordered... not really helping me, but blaming me. So the "new owner" said it's not their fault and they can't replace it. They were looking at her like "okay.. and so what?" Which is what prompted the review. Not to mention, the burrito is $15. I told her it's fine I'll pay and she said she would've done it if it were up to her. I let her know that would be my last order from there. How unfortunate.

Their food is delicious! I always get the Caldo de Res or Abundigas (Mexican meatball soup) it so delicious! The staff are always helpful & my order is ready quickly!

Out of all the local taco shops this definitely has the best quality food and taste. I know we all have our favorite places and this definitely is mine. The service is always great as well. The restaurant it self is great to sit and dine! I'm happy that this place is right down the street from me

Food is always great! With the cost of eating out these days I don't waste my money if it's not worth every penny. La Mesita has never let me down in almost 20 years. It's one of the cleanest restaurant I've ever seen. Thank you La Mesita and crew

I love this place. My boyfriend and I live down the street and go at least monthly, sometimes even more. Their potato tacos are chefs kiss. Their jalapeño salsa is also amazing. We never have to wait long and the young cashier is always so friendly when we go in. Their prices are also super affordable! We love this place.

This place is delicious. I got a surf and turf burrito which was absolutely delightful. Also the rice and beans are phenomenal. The best part is the rice has no carrots or rice which makes it even better. Definitely give it a try.
