This is a new spot close to home and we have had it twice now. First time, hubby brought home the family pack and we made our own quesa-birrias on the comal and they were super tasty! Today we got take out and I had their version of quesa-birria and it did not disappoint, would have liked a little more cilantro and onion on top but their pickled onions made up for it. The service is friendly and the place is clean and cozy. I hope they stick around!

3rd times a charm! So glad I caught them for really delicious tacos. The fish tacos are very generous double wrapped tacos, easy to make 2 smaller tacos- pickled onions and lots of lime add that zip! Salsa is not very spicy but also adds a tang. It's a light batter but quality fish on soft fresh corn tortillas. The shrimp was very good also- the extra peppers and grilled onions with the melty cheese made these tacos so satisfying. Also ordered the beef flautas, they have shredded beef and are skinny crispy taquitos. Can't wait to try the adobada and carne asada torta next. Today's taco special was quesa birria with consommé for $10. Not a huge menu, (and no rice and beans) but you will be happy with the food and flavors offered here!

I am honored to provide this update. La Libertad Cocina Urbana has ventured into their first brick and mortar after many years as working hard as a local food vendor here in San Diego. They specialized in making beef birria and all the different combinations it can be served, like the pair of quesabirria tacos I enjoyed with Consommé of beef; but, they also offer with this new locations burritos, including breakfast, tortas, salads, and a variety of appetizers such as flautas. They also fish tacos, carne asada, adobada, grilled chicken, and veggie tacos.The quesabirria tacos that I had were outstanding. I love the way the corn tortillas offer great texture with a bit of a crunch and that they beef birria is super juicy and tender. They do not hold back on the cheese! They offer inside and outside seating, not to mention some custom homemade desserts.

This place was great! Very clean inside and great customer service. Had a Carne Asada and Adobada taco. Wow!! They give you tons of meat and very affordable. You won't be disappointed with La Libertad.

Stumbled upon this gem at Duck Foot about 15 minutes ago. At first I wasn't going to get tacos because they use beef for their birria. Then the people around me kept ordering tacos and they looked divine. So naturally I ordered 3 tacos and a mulita. Why not, right?GLAD I DID!!I'm he ladies were awesome. Friendly and helpful. The food was GREAT!! Generous amount of meat packed into each taco. Flavor for DAYS. Might be beef but it's amazing! I'm a fan. I'm grateful to have hey we're here. I'm full and happy!

Tacos are so juicy and the tortilla crunchy. The salsa is what makes the meal Owner is from Tijuana, La Libertad so he really knows what's up

La libertad really knows how to make delicious quesa birria tacos. Corn tortilla, not too spicy salsa, and garnished with or without onions just how I like them! On top of those delicious birria tacos, they have specials every now and then. Find them at the Mobil gas station corner of El Cajon Blvd and Texas in North Park.

I love the food from here. I have tried other Birria places in the area and this is the best by far. The food is always consistent, and I have tried about everything on the menu. Everything is fantastic, but the quesa birria tacos are 10/10.

The food was delicious! I wish we had taken a picture but it smelled so good we couldn't help ourselves. Everything was fresh and the staff were all very welcoming. We will be back for more. Also their orange salsa is bomb.

An absolute hidden GEM On Market street! Amazing birria and the owner Jorge was a pleasure while he was cooking up our tacos making chit chat! 100% coming back with the lot of family to have them try! And they also cater
