La Katrina Auténtica

As titled by their name, you can surely expect authentic Mexican tacos at La Katrina Auténtica. I ordered delivery from them one very late night and I can't say that I was disappointed. My only beef (no pun intended) was that they did not include cheese on my tacos as I had paid for, but Doordash compensated me well for the mishap. My steak also was more on the dry side and tasted as if it had been sitting for a while, but my expectations weren't too high for midnight tacos. Other than the cheese missing, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. While it wasn't as filling as I would've hoped, I also am used to eating 5 or 6 of those types of tacos at a time. Especially if you're looking for a tasty late night snack, La Katrina Auténtica may be worth the try!

Phenomenal quesabirria tacos and al pastor tacos! I love the 3 salsas that come with the tacos. The quesa birria tacos come with consome (au jus) for dipping. They were super meaty and flavorful. Al Pastor tacos come with lettuce, tomato and onion, but sour cream and cheese are an extra charge. This is located in Little Joe's and the bartender can take your order. The tacos took about 15 minutes to come out. There is plenty of street parking available on Taylor St. If you come between 4-6pm tues-fri you can get a happy hour special from Little Joe's while you wait. They have $4 beers and $4 smirnoff cocktails.

Food is amazing, fresh and authentic. I've been to their food truck and their locations and none of them will disappoint!!! My family and I are big fans!!

This place is not it. What made me and my boyfriend try it was the sign outside that said they have the best tacos in town. Well that's a lie. My bf tacos were soooo salty and lacked any authentic Mexican seasoning, almost not edible. And my quesabirria tacos were not good. The consóme was extremely watery and also kaflavor. Oh and the worst part was the chips and salsa, they were both obviously store bought and the restaurant is making a killing on them, 8 bucks! The reviews on here are definitely regulars or friends of the owner because this place is nasty. Don't waste you time or money.

Coming from California to IL, I've always tried to find good Mexican food and most of the Mexican food I've tried has been a major let down. However, everything on this menu is incredible and super authentic. The food has incredible taste and flavor. 10/10. The owners are also super kinda and always available. Great place to hang out.

I've tried the birria and the burrito here, both super yummy! I also love the vibes in little joe's where the restaurant runs out of. Usually when I wait for my food I watch soccer on the many tvs inside the bar and the bartenders are also very nice and chill as well. I would get La Katrina more often if I could but as a college student I can't afford to eat here all the time:(

Ordered steak tacos with cheese, cilantro and onion. Very strange seasoning. It tasted like dog food. (Yes Ive tasted pet food ). No one liked the food. The cheese was missing off both sets of tacos and the cilantro and onion was missing off of another set. What a waste of money. Great big yuck!

Awesome place on Taylor! This is the former Little Joe's and still pays tribute to its roots inside. The atmosphere is perfect and the food is really good. The Quesabirria Tacos are a must have - simply outstanding. Best thing is you can catch a glimpse of an Ignatius game from the back patio while enjoying a beer. Bartender Matt makes this place even better. He is tons of fun! Hidden gem in Little Italy

Good tacos, but as somebody who rates restaurants primarily on value, portions could be way bigger for the price. Run out of Little Joes bar - good place to grab a bite and some drinks with friends
