La Josie was a pleasant surprise! We came here for taco Tuesday and my friends and I were not disappointed. I recommend the pork belly and steak tacos. They are different from your street tacos (hence the price) but the food is so flavorful you will want to come back. The service was outstanding and the waitress was very good at explaining the GF options. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL, lots of windows and plants and just a nice atmosphere.

I was with a party of 5 and we dined at La Josie on a Friday evening. The inside of the restaurant is small, but very well decorated. It looks more like a nice bar. It was a nice evening outside so the windows were open and we enjoyed a nice breeze. We ordered a number of appetizers all of which were solid but not great. I had the barbacoa tacos and again, they were good but they lacked the wow factor to justify $28 for 3 relatively small tacos. Our server did an adequate job answering questions about the menu and service, but her demeanor came across as unenthusiastic. The one thing that was confusing to our entire party was the both the noise level and type music being played. A speaker that was overhead was blasting techno club music that really didn't at all fit the vibe of the restaurant. We asked if they could turn and down and to their credit, they complied. Overall, the food was good (about what you might expect at a taco truck) and the service was adequate, but because of bar atmosphere and the price, I wouldn't return.

Stopped here for a weeknight dinner with a friend for Restaurant Week. Even for a weeknight, it was fairly busy so definitely recommend making a reservation. I will say the food was not worth the prices even at restaurant week. The portions seemed small (which can be expected for restaurant week) but also for items not on the restaurant week menu that we saw go by. I had the colorados tamale, suadero tacos, and the churro cheesecake. The tacos were some pretty good tacos, but there are other places around the city you can get the same flavor and quality for better prices. Everything else was fine, but nothing to rave about. My friend ordered a glass of wine and yet I was also charged for her wine. So essentially we were double charged for one glass of wine when we asked the server to split our bill. The server also stood over us when they gave us our bill and we were calculating tip, etc., so we didn't catch the double charge until it was too late. That made things really awkward as the server is just standing there watching. I don't think this experience will deter me from ever coming back, but I'm definitely going to want to try other places before returning to La Josie.

Loved it! Went for the first time and it's definitely a more upscale Mexican restaurant but worth it. We got quac, Cesina tacos, chicken tacos, sauce trip and queso. All the items were great! The steak tacos were super flavorful and they come with a nice sauce. The sauce trio comes with 3 different sauces, all different flavor profiles and one that was super spicy! I loved all of the items so will definitely be back.

Hands down my FAVORITE Octopus tacos! They are fairly small but so full of flavor and they were just enough to satisfy my craving! My friend got the shrimp tacos and WOW they were also really good.

Restaurant Week Brunch! Yay! We had a larger group and were sat at a nice table in the way back with candles and everything! The Colorados Tamales were a tiny bit spicy, but really really good. I was glad that it wasn't fully wrapped in husk; it was just on the bottom which made it easier to eat. The Quesabirrias were really good, too! The dessert we got was different from the menu, I think he said it was tres leches, and it was soooooooo good!

I went to La Josie during restaurant week and I was pleasantly surprised. My server was very nice and gave good insight on the restaurant week dishes: The tamale was PERFECT, a tad bit spicy but flavorful. I'm not sure if that is on the regular menu but it definitely should be. The churro cheesecake was amazing and melted in my mouth. The burrito was mediocre however, I was so impressed by everything else it didn't bother me much.

Man my mouth is watering just looking back at this photo of deliciousness. I ate this plate til the very last bite with a smile on my face and my eyes closed lolLet me start at the beginning! My girlfriends and I came after hearing good things and also Fulton Market being our favorite neighborhoods. You walk in to a beautifully decorated and lively atmosphere. Us 3 were seated at a table for 4 so we had good space and good time to catch up. Neither of us had been here so new tastes and experiences for us all.I cannot speak for my friends.. though they did say they enjoyed their meals a lot... but ME... I want to go back for this exact meal. We came for brunch so these are the chilaquiles with steak. Now I will say that the up charge for this steak was CRAZY (basically the same price as getting 2 chilaquiles dishes w no meat), but that meat was so tender and worth every penny. The chilaquiles were cooked to PERFECTION! I don't know about anyone else but I like mine to be soft.. not those crunchy nachos that some restaurants be giving. This place DID THAT! Now I do specifically ask for them to be soft everywhere I order and if they say they can't then I will not get them. This place exceeded my expectations and as I said - I have to come back for this exact dish.

This is a great spot for happy hour in the West Loop. It's not as popular as some of the other restaurants on Randolph but definitely deserves more attention. The happy hour drink menu consisted of $8 margaritas, palomas, and glasses of wine as well as $4 bottle beers. They had a happy hour food menu as well which had $6 tacos, elote, and fried onions among other things. To drink I had a Paloma. It came with a salt and tajin rim that I really enjoyed. For food, I had the papas con queso which were fantastic and had nice presentation. The service was standard and the vibe inside is dim lighting and louder music, yet still intimate and easy to have a conversation due to the smaller size of the restaurant. Coming here for happy hour drinks and snacks is definitely something to check out if you're in the area!

Verania is amazing! Knowledge, warm and hospitable. We really enjoyed everything we had (except the blanco in the tequila flight which was just too strong for me). The shrimp quesadilla & the Chapuzon were the highlights for us! Great flavors! Everything was fresh and delicious! Also, big thanks to the manager, Victor who made sure we were well taken care of.
