Really great little Mexican market. So much produce, a great butcher shop with lots of meat & cuts you won't find at many grocery stores in the area (ex. Skirt steak). Plenty of Hispanic canned goods, like GOYA products, I specifically come here for their frozen empanada shells. They also sell some cooked food (get the carnitas ) and have some fresh tortillas / masa if you want to make your own. Love their refried beans, and pickled onions.

La Huerta is the closest Latin store nearby my home. I was happy to know there was one not too far when we moved to the area. I normally go and get already marinated meats. Whether it's fajita meats, meat for tacos, chicken, and some carne asada. Prices are reasonable. They also have already made items like soups, packaged pork rinds, salsas, pico de gallo, and much more. They also have a variety of desserts like flan, tres leches, mango nadas, and etc. I would recommend to double check the dates and to inspect the product before purchasing, as I am unsure of the upkeep. Pan dulce is also available in the store. I personally have not tried any of their pan dulce due to a strict diet, but they do look tasty and are in a case and not out in the open. The store offers produce, many products that you won't find in normal stores, Spanish candies, lots more Goya products, pots and pans, and the list goes on. Over, this is a pretty okay place. It's not a large store, but will have what you will need.

Updating my report because the menudo at the deli counter is outstanding. (Yes, I do still love the carnitas, we have a regular weekend stop to get a carnitas burrito for lunch when we are out running errands. These are the best burritos in Tacoma in my opinion. Bring a tip for the nice lady who makes them, she's very sweet.) I've discovered they make delicious menudo on the weekend (they usually still have some on Monday). When you buy it, they include sides of fixins, handmade corn tortillas, limes, onions and dried chile and oregano. Pick up a nice avocado and your Sunday morning is all set.

Oh my. My recent visit to La Huerta was so disappointing. I fear they are going out of business soon. The same merchandise was stocked again and again on certain shelves to take up space and they were missing a lot of basics, like certain canned chiles, canned tomatillos, and boullions. For better or worse, a better place to get Mexican cuisine basics right now is Saar's. They have more inventory on 4 aisles than almost all of La Huerta.

Nice market for ingredients for Latino dishes and cuisine! Lots of options that you know whatever you get here will be authentic!I bought several different types of salsas here. I got two different canned kind and one fresh pico de gallo container. I snacked on that at home and really enjoyed it!There are a lot of different options here, a few I don't think I fully grasped the concept as but a return trip and continued observations and questions should clarify on potential purchases here.

This place doesn't have it all, but what they do have is really good. I find myself here coming here for their sweets more than anything. Here and there over the last 10 to 15 years. Glad they are still in business so I don't have to drive way out for simple Spanish ingredients. I will say I'm sad they weren't serving their restaraunt food the last time I came by because I really wanted to try their tacos. Maybe next time.

They've overcharged me on a lot of things that I've purchased there. The prices will be stickers on the product and I have confronted it but every time I go back they still do it. Go somewhere else and save your money rip off.
