I couldn't even believe this existed. I made a reservation on Open Table (I am new to Atlanta) and was very confused when I found myself at a retirement home/apartment complex, taking an elevator to the "basement". What I found was a beautiful atmosphere, and a unique table setting (my partner and I sat next to each other and faced out to the rest of the restaurant. The food is top-notch, and well worth the money, and the servers are always kind and suggestive. Great spot for anniversaries and birthdays. Buckhead is lucky to have a special place like this.

As always, La Grotta remains one of the best Italian restaurants around. The atmosphere is classy, so please dress accordingly, as people go for both the atmosphere as well as the food/vino. The super tuscan vino is great if you are looking for a new wine to try, you can order a glass or the bottle (I recommend bottle if there are 3+ in your party it ends up being cheaper than individual glasses). The sacchetti as well as the pappardelle are both wonderful dishes. The gnocchi is cooked perfectly if you are a gnocchi fan.

RESERVATIONS AND VERY MUCH WORTH THE PRICE ($$$).Extremely attentive service and a hidden gem beneath the condos was very surprising! The atmosphere felt as if you were trapped in time, far away from any hustle and bustle of the city. My husband and I went for an intimate birthday dinner and Rahul was our amazing server; request him if you get the chance!Food wise... BEST ITALIAN IN ATLANTA!! Complimentary bread to start..... The chicken Parmesan and lamb chops were both outstanding, along with the cheesecake and tiramisu to finish. Amazingly authentic Italian cuisine, and the Pinot noir bottle we ordered was poured throughout our meal perfectly. The COMPLIMENTARY valet made getting in and out a breeze. Highly recommend and will return!

We went to La Grotta Wednesday after work for dinner. They open at 5:30pm but we arrived a little bit earlier and waited in the upstairs waiting with a couple of other people who were also waiting. Once we went downstairs everyone sort of formed a line in the tunnel which was also interesting because it's filled with pictures of famous people who have ate here which is a great introduction when you're coming to a restaurant!Another thing that I loved about this place was that their seating for 2 is arranged in side by side booths which I feel is the most comfortable way to eat out with another person. We sat inside which was perfect because it was a hot day and the interior is pretty cozy. When our waiter came over he offered us water and bread and gave us a through overview of the menu! We decided on the soup of the day and gnocchi for appetizers and I had the Sacchetti and my sister had the Pappardelle. I LOVED the Sacchetti which was so flavorful and different from any pasta that I've had before! My sister also like the Pappardelle and for dessert we spilt the Tiramisu. Overall, we came for the pasta and were not disappointed! The courtyard looked really nice and I would love to come back on a spring or earl fall day to experience it! I can definitely see why this place is an Atlanta staple!

Finally a beautiful Italian restaurant with Tuscan feels which is perfect for special occasions or just celebrating life. We came here for my birthday recently and it was fabulous. They have a valet parking, the service is impeccable. It literally felt like I was transported to Italy. You take the elevator below the ground level, to reach the restaurant from the lobby. You will then walk through an alley which displays pictures of famous celebrities that have dined here to where the host greets you. You have the option to choose from indoor as well as outdoor seating. Given the weather and the mood, we chose outdoor seating. It was like dining in a garden. We got the bottle of wine recommend by the server. I loved it. For dinner, I got the chef to cook me a pasta with vodka sauce(off menu). My husband got the truffle mushroom risotto. We got an appetizer to share also suggested by the server. They also got us a glass of complimentary champagne as it was my birthday! The food like the ambience was delightful. I can't wait to revisit with our friends and family here.

This was our first visit at La Grotta and it won't be the last! They were so hospitable and graciously accommodated our seating preferences. The lobster pasta was a highlight and their famous tiramisu was incredible! Their outdoor patio is lovely as well.

A true hole in the wall with amazing Italian food!!! La Grotta is perfect for when you want to be fancy and get great comfort food. It's always pretty busy so flexibility with your reservation is key! We happened to luck into one a little earlier than I usually like to eat dinner, but it was super worth it. We shared the carpaccio as an app topped with truffle oil, arugula, and parm. The truffle oil worked so well with the meat and it was a great way to start off dinner. We then shared the sacchetti and the special scallops and risotto for dinner and both of them were amazing too. I liked the sacchetti a bit more as I'm not really the biggest fan of risotto, but I do love a lot of cheese! We ended the night with the tiramisu which was pretty good.Overall la Grotta is such a fun cute place for Italian food, and I'd love to come back!
