10/10 food, service and ambiance. The people are so kind and very attentive, the carpaccio was my favorite, incredibly. And The Ribeye Steak was so juice I loved it. Of course I'll back to this restaurant.

La Grande Boucherie in Chicago offers an extraordinary dining experience that blends impeccable service with exquisite French cuisine. The interior, for lack of better term, is certainly grand and our server Matthew was simply the best!! What we ordered: East coast oystersWagyu CarpaccioPrime Entrecote Grillee (Ribeye) Les St Jacques Roties (Scallops) Pommes Puree (mashed potatoes)Bayaldi (Ratatouille) Tart Au Chocolat/CaramelMy favorites were definitely the Wagyu Carpaccio and the scallops but I would order all of the dishes again except for the bayaldi (ratatouille).

What we ordered start to finish: French Martini L'escargotFrench onion soup Wagyu carpaccio Canard L'Orange Beef filet avec sauce bourdaleise Confit Byaldi Malbec Tarte au chocolat Cheesecake with sauce framboise Espresso Champagne Wow, what an honor and a joy to have a date night here. I'd come back for the service alone-- shoutout to Matthew for the utmost professionalism which only adds to the atmosphere here. Such a stunning, gorgeous, romantic space to dine! One of those places you go and have a beautiful meal together and walk home feeling very full but somehow walking on air My highlights from our meal were the confit byaldi, which is like a ratatouille-- wow! I love when a vegetable is the star. We fought over this side! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection- not always a given at a steak forward restaurant! They nailed it. The French onion soup was better than what I've had in Paris- still dreaming about it, and that cheese pull!! We felt so special and well taken care of during this meal. I can't wait to come back 10/10 and that's all I can say. So good that I didn't mind dawning a large stain on my dress for the whole meal-- too happy to care! Thanks to the staff for a spectacular dining experience.

Excellent kitchen, plenty of authentic French cuisine as well as some more American food that has a little French flair. Service was excellent: our waiter Philippe (it helps that he actually is French) and his sidemen were always on top of any request. Wine list had a nice range of prices. Caviar was very good choice. Fresh bread came out as needed, a lovely touch. My beef bourganion was great if a bit saltier than I like. Side of green beans were delicious and very garlicky. My wife and her friend loved their seared scallops, and our other friend's strip steak was huge and looked wonderful... and somehow disappeared so he must have liked it. We saved room for dessert: crème brûlée and profiteroles. Do not miss out! Definitely would go back. Tables are close together so you get a feel of the energy from other guests. It was a lively Friday evening. Don't expect quiet and sedate. The staff will help make your visit a good one.

The restaurant is beautiful, and the service and food were also excellent. Our waiter was even French, which was a nice touch to the ambiance! We chowed down on the warm bread while we waited for our espresso martinis- super tasty and not too heavy. The steak tartare was a delicious appetizer to share. The Niçoise salad was a nice portion with a lot of fresh ingredients and tasty tuna. The duck was deliciously tender and flavorful. The macaroni au grautin was so tasty and rich, we had to get two orders for the table (smaller in portion though). Everything was delicious, and we also had crème brûlée for the birthday boy - not usually my favorite type of dessert though but this wasn't bad.

My husband and I came here for lunch midweek. We had a reservation, but honestly I don't think we needed one. There was plenty of seating, and only about 5 tables filled. It's a pretty big restaurant with ample tables of all sizes. Great for a business meal or date. It's relatively upscale, but the staff makes you feel welcome and it is a warm atmosphere. We sat by the window area. Weather was nice so it was open to the street. Service was prompt, we were able to quickly get our orders in. Drinks and food all came out at perfect times, which is great because we never had to flag our server down or wait around for someone to come through.APPETIZERSWe started with the tuna tartare and foie gras. My husband is a HUGE fan of foie gras so of course we had to order it. He loved it. Most surprisingly though, we LOVED the cherry sauce that came on the side. I added it to my tuna tartare and it went well even with that. He even asked if he could purchase a jar of it lol Sadly, they do not sell the cherries in bulk haha. My personal favorite part of the tartare were the fruit slices. It was a great, light app.MAINI got the filet mignon (medium) and my husband got the boucherie burger. We kept eating off each others plates because it was all so good! He said it was the best steak he's ever had and I kept raving about the beef in the burger. The meats did not disappoint. Honestly, the burger would've been fine without the fries. There was enough flavor and texture in the burger that the fries were just there for a little starch.DESSERTWe got the black sesame boucherie creme brulee and tarte au chocolat/caramel. The boucherie creme brulee was interesting. If you want a standard creme brulee, I don't recommend. But if you want to try something new, by all means its a decent dessert. The crunch of the sesame topping was a little much for me, but my husband loved it. I much preferred the tarte.DRINKSWe got the magique heure, fraise cremeuse, and bastille day cocktails. All perfect for a summer day! The bastille day cocktail was lighter than the other two as it had ice. It was a refreshing drink to have with our main. I'm not a fan of absinthe, but my husband really liked the cremeuse drink.

We had a FANTASTIC experience. Should have taken more pics. We had an 830pm reservation and we opted to sit at the bar. The crowd was super friendly. Our server/bar tender was Z. He was great. We started with Carajillo cocktails...if you haven't had one, they are basically the next level espresso martini. Delicious!!Our appetizer was the scallops and the sweet corn puree added a silky sweet flavor to the perfectly salted scallops. For our main we shared the Chauteaubriand cooked medium. The sides included mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and bone marrow. We added a side of champignons (mushrooms) and the Mac and cheese. All were amazing; for me, the Mac and cheese wasn't my thing. Stephen, the GM, was amazing came and met us and gave the suggestion of the cheesecake and also we chose the Boucherie Crème Brûlée (toasted sesame crème brûlée). The crème brûlée was definitely unique and delicious. Then Stephen came out with their cheesecake....it is a MUST! Super fun evening with amazing company, staff, ambiance and food.

Great overall experience at La Grande Boucherie! The waiter was attentive even though it was busy and gave us lots of time to decide on and enjoy our meal. The dining space has a really cool vibe that brings you back to the past. On Wednesday night when we were there there was a jazz band playing. They were a little bit loud, but the music was nice. We started with some cocktails. The La Vie on Rose and the Pasteque a Paris were both really good though the Vie on Rose did have some floaters by the end. We also got table bread! Which seems to be rare these days in Chicago. It wasn't anything crazy delicious but definitely soft and classic and we saved some to dip in our later courses. For apps we got the onion soup and the steak tartare. The onion soup was probably one of the best I've ever had. It was LOADED with onions and the cheese was sooo good. Personally, I was not a big fan of the steak tartare, but that is because I don't really like mustard. Mustard wasn't mentioned on the menu but the cornichons must've soaked in something with mustard seed because mustard was all I could taste. Everything else about the dish was good and my partner liked it, but it was not for me. For mains we got the 12 oz ribeye with bourdelaise sauce and the orange duck. The steak was really good and the sauce made it even better. We even put some of the sauce on the potatoes to add a little extra flavor. The duck dish was just ok for me. I really liked the apples and peaches and the orange sauce, but the duck itself was a little chewy and hard to cut/eat and oh my do not eat the cherries. They tasted like cough medicine. For dessert we got the chocolate tart and the mixed berry cheesecake. I wasn't a huge fan of the chocolate tart which was cakier and blander than I would've expected. However, that cheesecake and berry sauce was light and fluffy and so delicious.
