I must always have a Soft Shell Crab Taco in my life.Saw this new joint pop up & had to try it.Began with the Ahi Tuna Tostada at suggestion of the waiter. He said he could eat like 11 of these. I believe him. I could too. Then tried the Kalifornia Taco followed by the Soft Shell Crab Taco. Loved every bite.Service is quick & efficient. Taste is impeccable.Cute little patio for my pups to hang with me while I downed this gourmet goodness with a glass of Rose.Another winner for the beachside eats!

I really wanted to like this place after my friends recommended it. I was going to give 3 stars but don't like that they charged me 3% for paying with a credit card and I was not informed in advance. Just when I went home and checked the bill I saw that. It is already too expensive for what it is. I ordered the ahi and the snapper tostadas and while they were abundant in fish quantity, it was lacking in flavor. Adding the salsas provided covered the situation a bit. The cucumber didn't seem fresh and had zero taste. I also ordered the mushroom taco and initially was happy because I like that type of mushroom, but then again needed to add salsa to cover the lack of flavor. Presentation of the dishes is lacking the pretty factor, they could be better garnished. Overall food wise would not want to go again but mostly for the lack of transparency with the surcharge to already expensive food that is so easy to prepare. Service wise everyone was super friendly and attentive after I was a bit surprised by dishes came with no napkins and no silverware, so I have to go and look for them myself. This restaurant confuses me because looks a brand of Parisian bistro with those cute chairs meets tropical island with that paper in the wall. So I was expecting if not cloth napkins at least to be brought to the table.Another thing I did not like is that sign at the table that says 'this table is reserved for an hour and a half only'. Wow, looks too intense and comes across as rude even though probably tries to be a joke. I read other reviews stating the same so maybe they should consider removing that. People are aware they cannot camp at a restaurant over a meal for hours.Looks pretty place to hang out but nothing special.

Really enjoyed our dinner at La Corriente! Only open a month or so, the ambiance was great and it was a really fun vibe. We were seated quickly and the service was quick and efficient. Victor took care of us and did a great job. We ordered the oysters, shrimp and octopus with tostadas, and two micheladas to start. All super tasty. We then ordered "Árabe" shrimp tacos and cauliflower. Both of those were dialed in too. I'd recommend a stop at La Corriente when in La Jolla.

Delicious Mexican seafood spot in San Diego that is worth a visit. The food was good and service was friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant was pretty good as well but something about the meal wasn't a 5 star. I'd give this one a solid 4 stars.

Despite being newly opened, La Corriente Cevicheria is still finding its footing. The waitstaff seemed a bit disoriented and lacked knowledge about the menu, but they were friendly and doing their best to keep things together. Although the small location doesn't offer dedicated parking, there were enough tables available when we arrived. Now, onto the food--absolutely fantastic! We tried the red snapper, fish ceviche, ahi tuna tostadas, and let's not forget the whole octopus, which stole the show! Seriously, it was out of this world. So, while they're still ironing out the kinks, La Corriente's culinary offerings make it a must-visit spot.

I have been eyeing the progress of this location for months and so glad it finally opened!First tried this place in Tijuana years ago before the pandemic and this location delivered and it was even better than I remembered. So fresh. Octopus was fire and the shrimp "Arabe" tacos were a heavier, cheesier treat. I will be back over and over again. Service was super friendly and seating will probably get crowded on weekends. Parking is not dedicated but street parking is worth it for this gem. The decor is adorable and trendy.

Exacellent, just like in Tijuana, I've been there a bunch of times and loved it every one of them, so when i saw they opened in La Jolla i was very excited...It's a bit small but then cozy. The red snapper tostadas are incredible and the Arab tacos delicious, can't wait to go back to try the rest.

Fun place to go for lunch on a Sunday. Good vibe and locals clearly frequent the place. It is an odd location just off Pearl and next to a golf cart store. Everything pictured was great and we would get again. Service was good. There was an annoying sign on every table that said you can only stay at the table for 90 minutes. Seemed like an odd buzz kill when you first sit down. I want to go back with more guests and try that whole octopus entree!

My husband and i just ate at another restaurant when we decided to pass by this place called "LA CORRIENTE " which was recommended to us by another Yelper. I went down to check it out for a future lunch or dinner. Even though we just ate and still full from the other restaurant, I told my husband that I wanted to eat again 'coz I saw the "WHOLE OCTOPUS" on their menu! It's been awhile since I've seen a whole OCTOPUS on a restaurant menu. I ordered:*ZARANDEADO -Whole Octopus, marinated octopus with galeanna potatoes and rice. * THE MEXICAN BLOODY MARY-CLAMATO - with clams & tahin. The Service was fast, everything came out really quick. The OCTOPUS was so Tender and soft. It's so good, but we couldn't finish it 'coz we just had a big meal 30 minutes before coming here, so we packed the remaining Octopus and when my Son got home he tried it. He said he likes it! Even though a couple of hours had passed, the Octopus remained Tender and Soft. My drink, the MEXICAN BLOODY MARY - the CORTADA, was delicious. There's plenty of Clam in it :) Our server Miguel was very nice and very friendly, actually all of the Staff were friendly and polite. The space isn't big, but it's cute with an outdoor seating. My Son likes the Whole Octopus and we're definitely gonna come back so we can order these Octopus again and try some more of what's on their menu with our Son.
