I've been rocking with these guys for more than a decade. I came to know them when they were the Kent Las Margaritas. The food was always excellent, and the place was always packed, but I am going to assume there was a lease issue as both they and Round Table got booted only to be replaced my Café Rio and Mod Pizza. They reappeared in Covington a while later as Las Margaritas Grill and will assume they changed their name again after the franchise agreement ended. I honestly have not been here in a year or more. Last time I was here, the portion was small, the prices were high, and no one was happy. Ended up here because we decided to try Los Cabos. By far, not the best Mexican food, but another place we hadn't tried in years, so we thought we would give it a go. Much to our surprise, when we arrived, the place was dark with a sign in the window advising they were closed due to staffing issues. Come on. I've heard tale It's hard to staff, but everyone else is doing it. I suspect the combination or poor service and poor food has caused a concussion that Los Cabos may not recover from. Everybody needs a job and everybody eats so any restaurant that can't make it is doing something wrong in my opinion. Back to La Chata. The service was pretty terrible. We sat for probably close to 10 minutes before we got chips, salsa, water or menus. That was with a near empty restaurant. Another couple was finishing their meal and a guy was in the bar, I assume eating and drinking. In my opinion, you don't seat people without a menu and in the case of Mexican food, chips and salsa hit the table in the first few minutes. It was also a sad serving of chips. No idea why they don't have baskets, but they need them, and the salsa container was 1/3 cup at best, it's almost like they don't want you to have them. The meal also took about 15 minutes to come out. Again, this was an empty restaurant, and our chips, salsa and water were also not refilled in this time. When the food came, we were starved and I will tell you. From the first bite it was clear our meal was prepared fresh. It was hot, flavorful and fair price for the portion. It was some of the best Mexican food I've had in a couple years. I'll say this, the food here was always top shelf, my issue has been the price and service. The price for my meal was fair, but again, the service was terrible. No one was rude, but no one was attentive to us. Also, keep the chips, salsa and beverages full, especially when food prep times are longer. Nothing worse than sitting is a restaurant with no food and beverage when you know it's available. 5 Star food, 2 Star service, I'll be generous and bless these guys with a 4. Websites are cheap, they need one, had I not been here before we would have overlooked this place as I like to review the menu, prices and picture of where I plan to eat.

Although the food was good I would of gave it a five star if the salsa with the chips was flavorful. We ordered enchiladas, macho burrito, and fajitas plate. I like the burrito but it was sparingly with any sauce sadly. Also the top of my burrito was not folded just a piece of flour tortilla flapped there just had to point that out. My granddaughter barely touched her fajita plate expecting the chicken grilled it was not sadly. Chicken enchiladas were a little dry in side would of been nice more sauce as well.

I wasn't sure about trying this restaurant, but Yelp reviews are deceiving so I wanted to leave my own! We were in the area and wanted to try a New Mexican place. Surprisingly, this is our new favorite in the area. The service was so friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. We ordered carne asada and tacos and loved them both. They were great with our toddler as well. It isn't very big inside, but we were comfortable. The drinks were extremely good as well, a much better selection than most Mexican restaurants we have seen. We will definitely be back.

Covington WA. Not very good. Had the pork verde lunch. Rice came out hard like it's been sitting all day, and it was 1245. The pork was terrible. Hard and not seasoned well. I expected carnitas style meat, soft like, and it was far from that. The server and I were talking about it and she said she wouldn't eat it either. I Left most of it on my plate. I know where I won't be eating in Covington. The server was great and she gave me a discount because I sent so much food back and told her why. She understood completely.

So I tried La Chata last week, and I went here again because it was so good! The first time I came, I was greeted by a lovely lady and she took care of us from start to finish very well. Kept our drinks full, had the perfect amount of socializing yet keeping it professional, got our check quickly with boxes, etc. Also, our food was incredible. I got my daughter the chicken tenders to try and I have considered going here for lunch and pretending to get my daughter chicken tenders they're that good lol i think they're hand breaded. I specially went here because 3 of the restaurants in MV don't have enchiladas a la crema and that was what i was craving this day, so i searched and came across this place to try it. It was a pleasantttt surprise to get a jalepeno crema. Spicy yet delicious. Also has a homemade coleslaw which is very pleasing and gives a little freshness. My husband usually orders An American dish or something simple. He got an enchilada and a chimichanga and it was so good he got it again the second time he went. We went again the other day because i was so pleased with my experience the week before. We all ordered the same things. The adult entrees were perfect. My daughters children tenders were kinda burnt and sad this time but i wasn't going to trip because KIDS EAT FREE on tuesdays?? Hell yes!The reason why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I'm sad that the service i received the second time was so opposite. Barely any checking in, and took almost 15 min to get a check after our plates were 100% empty. I might update after a few more tries if they step up the game in service cuz the food is great!

Very cozy atmosphere and free WiFi which doesn't sound like much by cell service in Covington is less than spectacular. Margaritas are on pint if not a little heavy on alcohol like others have said, not an issue, a bonus. Had jalapeño rellenos and the carne asana burrito with verde sauce. Was not dry as others have said. Only reason for not 5 starts odd the bacon was crispy and I like it a little softer but it's so hard with stuffed jalapeños

La Chata, muy Bueno!! Drink specials, warm chips, what more do you need! I ordered this Chimichanga thingy that was smothered in love and cheese sauce that made me consider having second stomach surgically installed. I also had this blue margarita thingy that was not a shy-pour and after drinking I wanted to wear a sombrero and sing mariachi. The service is on-it. You can sit inside or on the patio. Prices are reasonable.

My family and I went out for family dinner for my birthday. We wanted Mexican food (one of my personal favorites). Unfortunately the place we usually go to was closed so we tried La Chata instead. We ordered chicken quesadilla for my youngest and Mac and cheese for the oldest. Both were well received and deemed "yummy." They in fact asked to come again for my next birthday. My husband order the trio enchiladas and I ordered the Barbacoa. Both were as delicious as expected. The only issue I had were my tortillas were a little dried on the edges. I also ordered the Huckleberry Tea and a Pumpkin Martini. Let's just say they are happy pourers. Both were really good, just a little heavy on the alcohol. My big complaint was with the flan. Flan is my all time favorite dessert. This flan was well over cooked. It was dry and the caramel sauce was literally hard. It was quite disappointing, hence me giving this place only 4 stars.
