La Central Birrieria & Menuderia

We learned about La Central from our kids' school when they brought a truck for the springtime festival. They all looked so familiar from another restaurant we love but they've now gone their own path. I definitely plan on coming back. Customer Service is top notch and gave us the warm feeling we've come to miss from before.The food is stellar. Of course I recommend anything birria but you have to try the menudo taco. I wanted the whole menudo but I already had other food and needed room in my stomach for the house coffee and flan haha.The restaurant itself is very clean and has the hole in the wall feel that we've come to trust delicious Mexican food to come from.Hours are 7-2 daily so get in and eat! The younger server (I think he may actually be the owner too?) is insanely friendly, phenomenal customer service, really feels like he makes an effort to get to know every single customer of his.The food is absolutely phenomenal, the secret menu "queso tacos with birria" were incredibly good, especially with a bit of lime and dipped in the consomme.Friendly staff, with amazing food, at a very reasonable price. Glad our local friend showed us this spot while we were visiting, I 100% recommend it.

First time coming here and it did not disappoint! We came on a Monday around 1p, and while there were other customers, it wasn't overly crowded. Parking was easy with a dedicated parking lot and plenty of spaces. We ordered the full order of Tatemada supreme (melted cheese on top with grilled onions and peppers) and corn tortillas on the side with a side of consume con carne. I loved being able to make our own tacos with the personalized ratio of meat and tortilla. We were given plenty of tortillas and the spice level of the meat was perfect (no additional hot sauce needed). I do wish the tortillas were crispier but it was still delicious! We will definitely be back!

The food at La Central Birrieria was spot on. It's definitely up to par or better than the other very well known location up the street. It's also a sit down restaurant so it's more family friendly. Service and food were great! Will definitely come back.

The service that's given here truly makes this place. The señora that greeted me made me feel like I was walking into her home. The food was great, homemade tortillas, good amount of meat was served, and the consomé was great. The ambience was very homey. Would come back for birria tacos craving.

In my opinion, Fernandez has the best Birria taco in the WORLD. I didn't think any other restaurant could come close. UNTIL I tried La Central Birria!! Everything was so good and flavorful. I honestly could not tell the difference between Fernandez and La Central's birria. They both taste similar and delicious. I don't know if they are using the same recipe or if they are somehow related to each other, but the flavor and taste are the same! Both are great!

I stumbled upon this place last minute on Yelp and with a stellar 4.9 rating, I had to give it a shot. The restaurant was bustling, offering the choice to dine in or take out. I opted for the handmade tortillas and the Taco Comandante with birria, and I must say, the birria was outstanding, especially in the crispy Comandante taco topped with a runny egg.Unfortunately, the quesadillas fell short for me; the cheese wasn't fully melted, and the handmade tortillas were a bit too crispy on the outside. One notable issue was witnessing a young server cleaning his white shoes with kitchen towels and then handling food without washing his hands. Hygiene is crucial, especially in a food establishment.Despite this, the customer service was top-notch, among the best I've experienced recently. Overall, a decent experience with room for improvement in food quality and hygiene.
