La Cà Café

La Cà Café is the sister restaurant to La Cà Bar in Tacoma, one of my favorite restaurants to frequent. The cafe definitely has a more laid back vibe, which makes sense because it caters more to the college scene with PLU nearby. The bar near 6th Ave is definitely more of a late night party spot, with a full bar upstairs and TouchTunes always blasting. I was in the area and was looking for a spot to work and take a couple of meetings and realized their new location had quietly opened and that I hadn't tried it yet! I went on a weekday around lunch time and there was probably only a handful of people that came and went during my couple hour stay.Serving style is definitely more casual than at their bar location, with the food (even for dine in) being served in to-go packaging. I went with their beef pho and an order of spring rolls. Their pho always hits the spot for me, but at the cafe the noodles were definitely more on the mushy side. The broth could've been hotter as well (maybe because of the plastic packaging?) The spring rolls were the same quality as I've had before which was good! The pho, even though not as stellar as I've had from them in the past, still hit the spot on a cold afternoon. I'm not in the area of Tacoma too often, but definitely would come back for more remote working sessions + lunch if I were.

I would actually give this place a 3.5 for the food, knowing that is what really matters. However, the staff are so great here that it makes up for the lack of variety and atmosphere that La Cá Bar has over on 6th Avenue. I wish that the menu was larger here to include bahn xeo and meal combos available at the other location. Also, restaurants that are set up around television viewing really are a turn-off as well; but to be expected around a college, I guess.

Food was okay, the grilled pork was better than the cold cut. $10.50 for a banh mi is a little crazy but everything is expensive now a days. I was able to use bogo coupon so I can't complain. Very cute and clean interior would be a fun/cozy hangout spot. Service was great very kind people working here. You should definitely try this place out if you're around the area. i'm kinda interested in trying the pho and seeing how it tastes next.

We stopped in on Saturday afternoon while our daughter was at a P.L.U. soccer camp, and WOW! We had a tastebud treat!!The young man who took our order suggested the pork over the chicken, and we are so glad we choose to go with that recommendation! While it took about 15 minutes, the food was hot and the ingredients were fresh, crisp, and full of flavor! We were almost the only people in the restaurant, so it was pretty quiet. There was a tv on, but it wasn't loud at all. If our daughter chooses to attend P.L.U., this would definitely be someplace we would visit often!

This modern Vietnamese restaurant is located near the Pacific Lutheran University campus, so it is designed to be a fast-casual type of eatery. It was not busy at all when my sister and I stopped by. We were almost hesitant about coming in because we couldn't tell if they were open since this place opened recently from what it looks like.We ordered the spring rolls with shrimp and pork to share between us. Then, we each got our own grilled chicken rice bowl. My sister also ordered a Thai iced tea. Overall, the food was good. I thought it was interesting that the rice bowl was served with kimchi since that isn't traditionally a Vietnamese side dish. The pricing for the food a bit more expensive when comparing it to an authentic Vietnamese restaurant.

We were staying in Lakewood and needed a good spot to go for lunch that had outdoor seating for Gino the dog. Was happy to find this great Vietnamese spot with one of the best Tofu Bahn Mi's I've ever had!! The tofu was unbelievably flavorful and all the ingredients were super fresh. Husband got the grilled pork and a Vietnamese coffee, both of which were excellent. Staff was very kind and friendly, immediately felt welcomed. It's a casual spot, great for lunch. Would highly recommend!!

I absolutely love this place! The ambiance is everything here. You're greeted by modern luxuries once you walk in, I love the open floor plan! It's very warm and brightly lit, the place has such a homey yet chic feel to it. You order at the counter, and they bring out the food to you. Food: I got myself an Americano and spring rolls. I secretly judge a place by how their Americano tastes, especially if it's a coffee shop. Lemme tell you, this is the best Americano ever! The springs rolls were so fresh, and that peanut sauce is to die for. My friend got the traditional Viet coffee, and it's quite literally a flavor bomb. We also shared a Papaya salad. Everything is so fresh with great ingredients, you can tell they care about the quality of their food Service: Friendly and quick! The owner Tuan is so nice, and the lady who served us is so sweet.

food was really good, best banh mi I ever had ! everyone was very welcoming and food was served fresh and fast. keep up the great work !

For the price. It's sooooo good. The ambiance is wonderful and the service is great. The food comes out a bit slower so be prepared so that you know you're waiting for good food since they are cooking it on the spot.The drinks are great too and honestly anything on the menu is sooo good!
