As a sweet way to begin the year, two of us started the day with coffee and French pastries! This café is located in a residential area almost near the top of the Talus development. There's street parking only, but since the storefront is on a corner, we were able to find a spot pretty easily. They displayed their pastry offerings at a table near the entrance which included both sweet and savory options. An employee immediately welcomed us and graciously took a couple minutes to describe each one. Everything looked perfectly golden brown and flaky. I selected the Kouign-Amann ($7.00) per the employee's recommendation and my companion got the twice-baked almond croissant ($7.00). I also got a 12 oz. Cafe Latte ($4.85), but was disappointed to hear that they don't have decaf coffee. Instead, the barista kindly suggested one shot of espresso rather than the standard two. It didn't give me the jitters, so I was happy about that despite still paying the full price for a weaker latte. The Kouign-Amann was airy and soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. The exterior was brushed lightly with a sugary coating that caramelized in the oven. So good! This pastry was pretty rich, composed of many buttery layers, but I appreciated how it wasn't too sweet. The almond croissant was filled with a delightful almond paste. Both of us enjoyed our breakfast, but the pricing is quite steep so we probably wouldn't become regulars. Our two pastries and two coffees totaled $23 before tax. 3.75 stars.

We went inside the establishment, and later found out they were closed for the day.The weird thing is the doors were open and WE were inside the coffee shop? whoever your closing person is that day, need to review their closing duties.

When you walk in, someone will greet you in front of the counter ready to take your order/ answer questions. She was very kind but for me I like to look and talk about the food before ordering so I felt pressured to talk less (to my husband) and order so I won't be in the way They have the glass case & also a few pastries on the counter for display. We ordered the quiche and sandwich; they kindly told us it would take some time to warm up. They brought us complimentary bottle of water & cups as we waitedTo our surprised the quiche and sandwich came with salad. But it IS pricey, $17. But they were so good!! I had the quiche and my husband the sandwich (croque?) the quiche was lightly crispy on the top and gooey soft inside but with texture. Crust is good... so good Tart was really good too and I loved the little things inside that gave a little crunch... I didn't see the paper menu until after I ordered and be warned, nothing on display has prices on it ... so if you are on a tight budget, definitely look at the paper menu and/or ask for the prices Coffee is normal price but pastries and breads are all $8-$17.I think our bill came out to around $90 before tips and we only had 2 coffee, sandwich, quiche, tart and 2 pastries to take home ... keep in mind they are small... AND DELICIOUS. as one would say you get what you paid for!The sitting area, considering the price of food is very.... Informal? Metal chairs that weren't too comfortable. They also have some benches with higher table/ chairs. Ok but not a great place for little kids (me and my 3 year old love going to cafes). They did have one high chair there. But overall the place is not good for kids that wiggle around and want to walk around. The chairs is not the most comfortable and the bench seats would be a bit too tallAnd they DO rotate what they have so if there is a particular thing you want you might want to call before hand. There is a very clean bathroom too.But food wise I would give them a 5+!!

I am so happy that there is now a French bakery on Front Street. Such a darling interior! The apricot tart is the perfect balance of tart and sweet with just the right custard, I do wish the pastry was less soggy. Service was prompt and friendly, unfortunately they did not ask me if I was dining in or want to take out or; serve me the pastry in a box and the cappuccino in a paper cup. The reason we are getting three stars today is because my cappuccino is really hot and has far too much milk for a short. I want this place to improve, so I'm writing a tough review and hopes that the owners will take heartfelt feedback and make improvements. Perhaps some staff training, especially barista skills, are in order here

This cafe is located near the bottom of the Issaquah Talus community in the former Anchorhead flagship location. They kept the Anchorhead colors and finishes inside. I had been eyeballing the place for a while, but never had time to stop before today. I kind of wish it was still Anchorhead. Em. Maybe it's a French thing but I just wish there were more flavor options to choose from or something more unique than vanilla, caramel or chocolate. They have a handful of delicious and expensive pastries to pick from and. The chco-nut looks like an eclair but is not! Basically has a cookie bottom, big chocolate ganache filling and a chocolate frosting. $14. How can they justify $14 for a pastry the size of an Oscar Meter wiener? It was delicious, but I can't get over that price.Maybe they should put out the prices. The Kouign-Annan and almond croissant were 8 dollars each. GeezAnd the shot in my mocha was bad. I went back and asked for it to be remade and the employee gladly did it..... but it still tasted bad. Not a great first impression. It will probably be my last "experience" at L'experirnce.

If you live here, and need a local place for a nice tête-à-tête with your neighbors, this might be a reasonable cafe, but I wouldn't take the time to drive here. The pastries were stale, with my smoked salmon tart topped with dry pieces of lox, the edges already leathery. If the coffee and tea was half the price, they would be OK, but thats extremely expensive for a teabag in a cup of hot water. The latte earned them a star for being tasty and nice and hot.

When we arrived this morning to the cafe, we were both surprised and not surprised that we were the only guests - Surprising because it's a Sunday morning and not surprising since this cafe is in a neighborhood. We were greeted by two staff members who were polite and friendly. They took our order without rushing us and brought it to us after a while. Coffees and pastries were good, but not exceptional. We will return when the weather is better to take advantage of their outdoor seating and to try lunch options. I'd recommend this cafe as a place to bring your laptop and get some work done while having a bite.

Overpriced. Underwelcoming. Not a neighborhood feel at all. It's disappointing. We have stopped in numerous times and the only thing I would recommend is the almond croissant. They are pretty tasty but not for the price $8-$12 for a breakfast danish, no thanks. Their coffee is good and about $5 or tea is $7.Once, I bought a loaf of bread and it was hard as a rock. I called to complain and the gal said she gave me yesterdays loaf by mistake. I was able to exchange it for the same day loaf but it was spendy $$$

Loved spending my morning enjoying a delicious cappuccino and almond croissant at this super cute Parisian cafe! Kelly was a gem and was so welcoming that I decided to stay a while and do some work! It made my day! The dining area was immaculate, the music transported me and I left there feeling caffeinated and productive! They offered excellent service, amazingly friendly conversation and I will definitely return soon! Thank you Kelly and Erin!
