L'Artisan Pastry

I needed fresh croissants and didn't have time to travel south to Seattle, thanks to Yelp I located L'Artisan Pastry a hidden little gem tucked away in Silver Lake. Customer service was excellent, everyone behind the counter were all very kind. The shop was extremely clean, and quiet. Our croissants were fresh, flaky, and delicate (perfect.) I also ordered a pastry and one chocolate eclair which were split between my family both were really tasty and not overly sweetened.I will definitely return, and highly recommend!

We came for a small dessert and a cake for my dad's birthday. We were wavering between an almond pear tart & the Brazilian mocha cake. When the cashier shared what was in the cake, we were sold! Almond meringue bottom, coffee custard, chocolate cake, all covered in coffee butter cream. It was delicious, and my dad enjoyed the cake. Also, the staff was very friendly and patient as we were trying to decide.We're excited to come back and try other pastries another time!

I'm on the fence... The service was amazing but the food was good but borderline okay... I would want to go back at least one more time to try different items to see if its better but I doubt I'd go out of my way to get it like this visit.Parking: Shared retail parking lot Pet friendly: NoFamily friendly: YesFOOD - disclaimer: this was a take out order. 1. Raspberry Mousse (vanilla sponge, raspberries mousse, raspberry glaze): 2 Stars - This was okay... The sponge was moist and overall it wasn't too sweet which was good since everything else was kind of overkill. The mousse was a bit too firm if that makes sense2. Snow White (vanilla cake, lemon cream cheese mousse, white chocolate ganache): 2 Stars - For me it was unexpected to taste lemon. To be fair when I went in the pastry shop, they don't have any description outside of the name of the items. They didn't have any more slices in the case but they said they had more so I actually purchased this solely based on the name. 3. Truffle Tart: 3 Stars - If you love chocolate this is the one for you - chocolate crust, chocolate sponge, chocolate mousse with chocolate topping. I think I would have liked this more if I didn't have the chocolate cake from Touba Bakery. 4. Napoleon (puff pastry layers filled with custard cream and vanilla and chocolate glaze): 3 Stars - I love a good Hong Kong Napolean so I figured I'd like to try this as its similar with you know, less "stuff." Plus its puff pastry, who doesn't like a good flaky pastry. OMG this hurt my teeth so much. After the first couple of bites, I realized it's the vanilla and chocolate glaze so I chucked that off my plate. The custard cream had great flavor but that's all I can really say about this pastry... 5. Croissant: 5 Stars - THE BEST THING I HAD from this place. I actually had the croissant first so my it set my expectation pretty high when I turned my attention to the pastries... Very big, flaky, buttery yet super light and it doesn't hurt it was $4 only.MENU/RESTAURANT: I kind of have low expectation going into the shop... only because where you park your car you can only see the door and a hallway. The one large window they had was the view of their kitchen. I actually was expecting something very industrial, without a sit down area. Once you walk down the hallway, it opens up to a little area that is bright with 3 large cases to display their pastry. Everything looked so pretty with all the great colors, cakes, and friendly staff. I will say, I didn't even notice the wall menu as I just was staring at the pastry LOL I ordered based on the visual (or also not visual since I didn't see the Snow White) and the names... The menu I did see didn't have cake details either. You can visit their website that has some description but these are based on their cakes. SERVICE:The team was so friendly which is one of the reason I do want to go back and maybe try the pastry while I'm there vs. take home. The person that at the front was very vibrant - personality and style. She leaned hard into the French theme while everyone else was in "standard" uniform.

Since I was in the area I decided to check this place out as it looks delicious. It is located in a small complex and I think the entrance is a little confusing. It's a small door and you probably Miss it because you are distracted from looking at their kitchen and try to open the employee only door instead :)They have 2 displays, one with cakes and desserts and the other are various croissants.I got the chocolate croissant and a snow white cake. Both were pretty good. I do wish the croissant was flakier though. Pricing was decent as well. Definitely would come back to try their other stuff in the future.Oh the paying system is a bit weird too. It took many attempts for me to be able to pay successfully. The staff are nice though

Fabulous French treats. When I come to a party I bring something from here. Always a crowd pleaser.

This weekends holiday treat The Brazilian Mocha, take a look at that beauty so good you can almost taste it. Well hands off it's mine go get your own. Seriously this is my favorite sin these cakes are to die for and I will die trying to eat all of it and die ding three days in the gym burning it off. Don't take my word for it people get down there and try these delicacies for yourself you will not be disappointed as I have said before. Check out the picture and go indulge. You know it makes sense.

Wonderful bakery! I used to love their lunch specials, when they had them. Their baked goods are very good. Service and ambiance were good before lockdowns. It seems their selections, hours and ability to eat in- restaurant haven't come back to pre-lockdown levels, but I haven't been since. Again, the food is great!

We drive here all the way from federal way and it's worth every traffic we ever had to endure. Their raspberry mousse cake is the best thing I've ever tasted. Staff is very nice and friendly.

Delicious Pastries.....all are very good. I like the mocha, chocolate ganache, and passion fruit boule(only have for special occasions) Fruit tarts, different croissants like plain, almond, and chocolate. Have many more options as well.

This bakery has gone down hill, AVOID at all cost! Last time I was there my experience was atrocious. I ordered a drink and a slice of cake to enjoy there. My drink was disgusting, cake was ok. But what I witnessed happen to another customer was what really struck me. There was a lady there that ordered a drink, slice of cake and 2 croissants and had her drink and cake there as well. She went to eat one of the croissants and she couldn't even take a bite of it! The croissant was nothing like what they were selling in the display, it was flat and did not look fresh. I watched her go to the counter and ask to exchange it for a fresh one since this one was not edible. The lady behind the counter was so extremely rude! She grabbed the croissant and threw it in the garbage and said that since she already touched it they won't be exchanging anything- her tone was so disrespectful. The customer tried to explain that it wasn't even edible but was told that it's already in the garbage and she shouldn't have touched it if she wasn't going to eat it. The whole experience was just unbelievable. I have never seen such horrible customer service! It was obvious that they sold something that wasn't fresh but how they treated their customers is just not ok! This kind of behavior will lose you customers, I know that day you lost at least 2 since I know I will never be coming back and I'm sure that lady that was treated so rudely by you will not be back either.
