L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

The food and people are great. The food is delicious and made right on time! Great atmosphere with a large selection of food. The only issue would be the flooring that was not mopped correctly.

A disgrace to L&L Hawaiian BBQ. I don't know where to start. I usually go to the Mira Mesa location but decided to go to this one since it's on my way home. Such a big mistake!The kalua pork was horrible. Didn't even shred it and lumps of fat is what I got. No flavor, it was bland and salty. Also very oily.The BBQ mix plate also a huge disappointment. The meat was tough and overcooked. Seemed like they were trying to cover up for old meat ready to spoil. This franchise needs improvement. You're better off making the food on your own even if you have to spend the time doing so.

I love this place. They make wonderful food. Sometimes I come here and just order the barbecue chicken plate which comes with a lot of chicken and also rice and macaroni salad. I eat it for a couple of days. It's perfect for a single person. I also love their spam musubi Kahlúa pork Everything there is good highly recommend recommended

40 dollar went in the trash tonight. My husbands Kalua pork smelled bad when he opened it , tired a bite and almost gagged. My ribs were pretty fatty/gristly , chicken lots of skin and fat, but when I got to the beef I agree with the below poster, about trying to cover upMeat ready to go bad, I tried two bites and almost gagged from the off taste. A few years ago we noted over salting in the Mac salad , it was not as bad this time but not ONO as Hawaiian food should be.

I haven't had L&L in awhile and I think it's my first time having it in San Diego versus a different city. Definitely hit the spot. Combo Mix plate and Kalua Pig and Lau Lau. The food was good. It was nice to have a little bit of everything, it was better than expected. I thought the beef rib was going to be dry but it wasn't so that was nice. It was ready super fast, ordered over the phone and when I arrived it was pretty much ready. I waited about 1 min. Friendly and fast service. I was pretty much in and out. Wish they have malasadas. See you next time.

The food was excellent (as usual), but the service here was by far above and beyond. Dania was very friendly, helpful and attentive to us. The whole night crew was amazing!! Thanks for a great experience.

I am Polynesian and my first job was at L&L in PL so I'm well aware of the standards at this establishment. This location is by far the worst in customer service, cleanliness and food quality, oh and there was NO MUSIC PLAYING. Floors were so sticky and obvious- my flip flops were constantly getting stuck with every step I took. Cashier was not attentive at all. Our food sat in the window for 4 minutes while she was chit chatting and it would have probably sat longer if I hadn't gotten up to remind her. While we ate all we could hear was her talking smack about previous customers- mind you there is still no music playing (I even asked her to play some) so all we could hear is her conversation. Two more customers walk in and we watch this girl stand behind in the kitchen continuing her conversation with the cook while they waited for her to finish. I could tell the oil in the fryer hadnt been changed bc my katsu tasted old. Bbq chicken was horrible- chewy, fatty and dark. Overall super disappointed in this restaurant. Will not be returning and definitely won't recommend to my family.

My kids and I stopped at the L&L Santee, CA location this weekend. I was pleasantly surprised by this location. All of the L&L's in San Diego that I have been to, are not very clean. The food is always great, but because of the condition of the dining area, we normally just pick up and take our food to-go. The Santee location was very clean and I didn't have any problem staying and enjoying our lunch in this location. On top of that, the staff was amazing. Everyone was very friendly. They gave us our order number, and there is a pick up area. We waited for our number to be called...however, the server actually brought our order to our table, which was very nice. This is not the case in the other locations that I have visited and I appreciated the extra effort. The Santee location is not our local L&L, but we were in the area today. This will definitely be my location of choice when I am able to visit.

Service is so welcoming, sweet, and helpful!I had a hard day at work and was excited when I thought about Masubi Monday and didn't realize until I was in the parking lot that it was Tuesday. I decided to try something new but the extensive menu slightly overwhelmed me (very glad they have such variety! I just didn't know what I wanted). The staff was busy but made sure to welcome me and greet me with a contagious smile. I let the sweet girl at the register know I was unsure of what to get but she was more than happy to give me the top-selling food items. Energetically, her coworker chimed in with what she thought was the best. I took her advice and now I have a new go-to food item that I would have never tried without her. I am grateful for the smilie and helpful staff. They made my day so much better. 10/10 would recommend.

Pure disappointment. Got a poke bowl. Tasted off. Was just rice and tuna and some sauce that was bland. Total waste of money
