I have been looking forward to trying this place the moment I heard about it. The honeycomb style booths lived up to their hype and we loved it. There were also private booths in the back separated by noren curtains I thought were awesome too.We were immediately seated and instructed to press the call button for drinks, food, and paying the bill. The most genius thing on their menu was giving the customer the ability to choose the sweetness and amount of ice in your drink. My sister got a lychee lime green tea with 50% sugar and 50% ice. I got a mango lemonade with 25% sugar and 50% ice. Let me just tell you that it was the best lemonade I had. It had fresh squeezed lemons in the cup and had so much flavor. I loved being able to choose the sweetness level because I'm not much of a fan of sugary drinks and LOVE lemon. I would have ordered another one on the way out the door but my stomach was bursting from being so full haha.We ordered okonomiyaki as an appetizer and it tasted like heaven. It was so fluffy and creamy and full of flavor I loved it. We also got the classic omurice with demi glace. It was brought by a server and they sliced the egg open and poured the demi glace for you. It was an entertaining tableside experience. The flavor of it was wonderful and we were so happy to be able to finally try a "traditional" omurice dish. A free Thai iced tea came with this dish and it was wonderful and refreshing. It wasn't too sweet or bitter at all.Lastly, we ordered the chicken ramen. It was just as flavorful as the other dishes and filled us up to the brim. Each dish we ordered was a medium-large sized portion that prevented us from being able to finish each dish fully in order to be able to try the other dishes we had but we didn't care since it all tasted so good. I would 100% come back here again and try other items and will forever be dreaming of that mango lemonade.

We had a large party of 10 come for lunch and had a great time. The favorite thing about this place is how beautiful it is! The interior decor is so cool and almost feels like you're in a museum. There are private rooms for large parties and elevated "honeycomb" dining areas for smaller groups. I would come back just to experience dining up there!Service here is on point! We were seated in a private room that had a button to call our server anytime we needed her. This worked perfectly and we really appreciated it! The food was solid. I had the Kyushu spicy tonkotsu ramen and the curry omurice. Thought the ramen broth was good but wasn't amazing or anything. The curry rice was pretty enjoyable. My main thing with the food was how expensive it was! $18 for a bowl of ramen and $24 for the curry rice is pretty insane. Would love to come back!

This was yummo. Really great ramen... gigantic bowls. We also got some dumplings as an app and they were delicious too.The atmosphere is the best part. We were seated in a private booth with curtains that closed us in. There is a button you press when you're ready for a server. It is very efficient. The staff was friendly. The location is great for tourists.

I've been wanting to go here for a long time and finally made it and I absolutely loved it!! This place is fantastic. Such a fun vibe with good service and amazing food. I love the honeycomb shape idea. It looks so cool. The menu has a nice variety of Ramen, appetizers Boba Tea's and their famous Omu Rice. I do hope that they have more Ramen options without the pork broth because we only had two choices, one vegetarian Ramen and one chicken Ramen. Every other Ramen had pork broth. I really hope the restaurant starts accommodating more non-pork broth for people who don't eat that. We tried a bunch of items from the menu and we loved everything we ordered. We had the spicy edamame, shrimp tempura, Gyoza, Thai iced tea, fruit tea, Omu rice, Chicken Ramen and Vegetarian Ramen. You cannot go wrong with ordering anything on their menu. Everything taste delicious. I love that the food arrives quickly and is hot and fresh.

TLDR; - honeycomb seating is 1st come, 1st serve- weekends can get crazy busy so line up early --------4.5 stars rounding up~Shoutout to Pam for accommodating Bonnie C. and I with the honeycomb seating! Thank you Brent too for being so awesome!(Thanks!) Bonnie C. found this place on social media and ooof, on a Saturday later evening (8pm-ish and later) it was packedddWe were seeking for the honeycomb seating since we hadn't found anything like it in SF and Pam (staff member) mentioned to us that it's typically 1st come 1st serve but was really sweet in making it happen for us!Menu offers ramen on one side and on the other side, a variety of milk teas , appetizers and desserts. They even offer ramen combo options too!I took advantage of their ramen bowl combo~ Tonkatsu Curry Ramen, Pork Bao and Thai Tea, everything was delicious and I left with a filled and happy tummy! Only thing to mention is the Tonkatsu was OK, the breading was eh since it wasn't a lot of flavor and the chicken itself was pretty standard. Pork Bao was a tasty little snack and the Thai Tea definitely hit the spot after a long day.Would recommend to check out if you're wanting ramen, but don't forget to line up early for dinner!**note; since we waited for the honeycomb seating, that added more waiting to being seated (I'd say at least 20, if not 30mins more)

For many years, our favorite restaurant in Chicago made the best dumplings in the United States. Over the pandemic it transformed into a ramen-focused establishment with an authentic atmosphere. The ambiance alone is worth a visit if you find yourself in the area. However, while the overall experience was enjoyable, I admit that the ramen fell slightly short of expectations, rating a six out of ten. We've sampled ramen from various places across the globe, I found that the noodles were undercooked, and the service could have been more attentive. Unfortunately, our server did not return to our table after delivering our food to inquire about our satisfaction or offer refills, which was disappointing.Nevertheless, despite these minor shortcomings, the restaurant provided an incredible experience overall!

My friend and I came around dinner time on a weekday. We didn't have to wait long and got seated right away. Too bad there weren't any available seats in their cute honeycomb cutout area.. This place is so instagrammable! Open kitchen concept so you can watch the BOH prepare your food. Service was incredibly fast! We got seated and ordered. Moments later, the food started coming out.We ordered takoyaki balls to share. It had way too much bonito flakes. The takoyaki wasn't crispy as I would liked. Kinda soggy. 8/10. Spicy tonkotsu ramen -- it was ok. There was definitely some spice and it tasted like they used lots of togarashi for their spice. Not my thing. Broth could have used more flavor. Egg was cooked nicely. Noodles were perfectly chewy. The meat was soft. 7.5/10 because I feel like I've had better ramen elsewhere. Classic Japanese omurice combo (with Thai iced tea) -- what a great deal! I asked for less ice Thai tea but they still gave me like the normal amount of ice. Ugh. It was soo watered down :( I even had to remove the ice myself. Love the presentation of the omurice. They cut it and pour the curry sauce in front of you! It was good but I noticed my omurice was lukewarm and not hot enough! Something about eating cold eggs and rice didn't leave a good impression on me.

If you're in Chicago and have a craving for top-notch ramen and Omurice, Kyuramen is the spot you need to visit. This cozy gem stands out not just for its inviting atmosphere but for its exceptional food that will keep you coming back for more. The ramen at Kyuramen is a revelation. Whether you go for the classic shoyu or the more adventurous miso variety, each bowl is crafted with care and brimming with fresh ingredients. The noodles have just the right bite, and the toppings--think tender slices of pork, soft-boiled eggs with yolks that are just the right amount of runny, and crisp vegetables--add layers of flavor and texture. But the ramen is only part of the story. Kyuramen's Omurice is a delightful standout. The fluffy, golden omelette envelops a bed of savory fried rice that's seasoned just right. The combination is simple yet satisfying, and the dish is served with a rich, tangy sauce that complements the flavors perfectly. It's comfort food with a gourmet twist. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, with a modern yet cozy vibe that makes it a perfect spot for a casual meal or a relaxed night out.
