Kyoto Sushi

Really wanted to like this place but maybe I visited on an off day. It was the only sushi place that I could find that was open on a Monday, by the airport. I was open to eating there but the sewage smell when I walked in was just too much for me to stay. They said it was from all of the rain they recently had. So I took it to go. It could be my imagination but the rice tasted like it too, so unfortunately I did not eat a lot of my order. My body reacted to what I did eat and it wasn't pretty.I went with the sushi plate and replaced the California roll with a salmon roll for an up charge. I originally wanted a cherashi and spicy salmon roll but apparently neither were on their menu.The peeps there were super nice, but guess it just wasn't my thing.

Very misleading on prices during happy hour they advertise one thing however not the case but more importantly the sushi not that good at all. The higher ratings doesn't make sense to me for those of us that frequent sushi restaurants. This was very mediocre at best.I went once before didn't care for it yesterday a friend brought sushi over he didn't ask where to get it he randomly chose here it was near the direction he was headed - I wish I had known where he was getting it from to have advised him to have gone on Rosecranse not Midway.

Amazing sushi at Kyoto Sushi! I found my new favorite sushi place in San Diego! The garlic edamame is so yummy! Spider Roll and Smoked Roll were my favorites!! 80's music is playing lightly in the background. Totally awesome!Parking can be tight on a busy night!

While waiting to check into our hotel. We visited Kyoto sushi to have a late lunch and we weren't disappointed.It's not very big but the ambiance was very pleasant and the decorated with framed images of geisha and other Japanese cultural icons. Certainly, there is no mistaking you're in a Japanese restaurant. The service was good, and patient consider we had an 18 month old. Ultimately, the food was very good.I don't remember exactly all that we ordered as a family, however, we've had enough Japanese food to know that what they provided us was delicious.We defiantly recommend a visit if you're in the area!

Came here after going to an event across the street. The sushi rolls were delicious and the owners Mike and Maria even brought my daughter deep fried Oreo cookies to celebrate her birthday! Will definitely be back again soon!

WOW!! I wish I lived close by so I can be a regular here. Such AMAZING service and top quality fish!! This place is located in a plaza and it's a small mom and pop shop! We sat at the bar in front of the chef/owner. He was soo awesome! We ordered spicy garlic edamame, salmon and spicy tuna hand roll, and two sushi rolls. One was an eel roll with soy paper and the other was a custom sushi roll! It was yellowtail sushi and he made it with shrimp inside and cilantro and jalapeño on top with lemon drizzled on top! Soooooo good!!! Will definitely be back the next time we are in town!! Thank you for the amazing service

Some of the best sushi we've ever had (the chilango roll is to die for). Seriously. Mike, Maria, and Megan are amazing.

Amazing food, and the family ambiance to close to none. You feel like part of the family eating here and the food is much the same. Thank you guys for a great experience and we will be back!

Sushi was alright but don't trust the menu prices on Yelp. Was charged $10 more than the prices from 1 year ago.... Wish they would actually put the prices on their website
