The Tempura appetizer was so wet with oil that I couldn't eat. They really need to fix this. The fried rice tasted very good, but they said it would have zucchini and broccoli. There wasn't any. My friend liked the sushi.

I was on my way home from work, feeling hungry but too exhausted to cook. I decided to have some sushi and udon since I thought it would be a nice, clean meal. The restaurant had decent Google reviews, and the menu prices suggested that it would at least be of average quality. However, what a disappointment...The nabeyaki udon had no vegetables at all, and the broth was incredibly salty. The sushi was even worse--the fish was mushy and had a strong, fishy odor. To make matters worse, the maki rolls had fish with discoloration, indicating it was not fresh. After enduring this horrible meal and leaving a tip, my bill came to around $60. I can't help but wonder how a restaurant owner could serve such poor-quality food. Even though some Westerners might not be familiar with authentic Japanese cuisine, this was beyond unacceptable. Serving udon made with the cheapest ingredients and using fish unfit for sushi is simply inexcusable. If this place doesn't improve, it shouldn't stay in business. It's one thing for food to be unremarkable, but it's entirely different to serve inedible, potentially unsafe food.

Meshiagare Welcome to the @kyotogardensushi in Glenview! Such a beautiful restaurant inside and out as you can enjoy their lovely patio while you have lunch or dinner we were so lucky to be winded to this event and try so many delicious food items on the menu We have pictured here:*AAC *Edamame *Smoked Madai *Sake Toro *Tempura Fried Calamari *Lychee Martini *Beef Tataki *Kyoto Garden Volcano Roll *Chicken Yakisoba *Green Turtle *Madai Carpaccio *Mochi ( and )*Sparkling Peach Sake All the food was on high quality and it was exactly as it was described on the tasting menu:) The favorite of the night had to be the volcano roll, the scallops inside were so fresh and we love a good volcano roll anywhere we go! The service was wonderful and everyone who worked there was so sweet and it was nice for them to come check in on us and see how we were doing:) we've passed by this restaurant many times and so grateful we finally got to go inside, and we will be going inside more often, it's a gorgeous ambiance and place!

Stopped in here for lunch recently. The atmosphere is clean and inviting, a refreshing kind of calm. Staff is always friendly, and the service was quick. I loved the rainbow roll. Everything we've ordered here has been excellent.

This was a pretty decent Japanese restaurant. Quality and prices aren't the best but they have nice decor and the portion sizes are very generous. I guarantee you won't go starving if you order entrees and sushi rolls. I think they try to add some "fancy items" but they should just focus on keeping it more simple. This is far from being fine dining. I got the tonkatsu entree, green turtle speciality roll, and a scallop sake shooter. Tonkatsu was a little dry but still edible. They probably shouldn't have cooked it too long. Green turtle specialty roll was good. It's shrimp over bbq freshwater eel and it does contain some wasabi mayo. Everything was balanced, not too much rice. The scallop sake shooter was a bit of a letdown. Maybe the oyster would have gone down easier. The scallop took a bit to slide down from the glass to your mouth. It does have a bit of spice to it. Overall, a 3. Service was okay, they could be more attentive like refilling waters and asking if we need anything.Tonkatsu - 3.5Green turtle - 5Scallop sake shooter - 2

Food: I think this is the best Japanese restaurant I've eaten at. The best salad we've ever had. Ginger house salad was amazing. The miso soup was super flavorful. The teriyaki chicken was perfect.Service: Immediately sat down, ordered, very friendly and quick.Ambiance: Very very clean. Holiday deco, soft music was nice.

I passed by this place all the time. i dont know if they just move in to the area? , so i decided to try it, and what a better way to do it was on fathers Day. My kids love Japanese food too, so we did. I love the selection of the menu they offer and was not disappointed in our choice of what to eat that day. Service was great, we didn't have to wait long for our order and the the restaurant itself is very clean, tables were not to close to each other and very comfortable. We would love to come back and enjoy the other menu. Definitely will spread the news. And the dessert was to die for esp. The chocolate pyramid. Not to sweet.

This review is based solely on a carry out sushi order. I would give Kyoto another chance, but while dining in and getting something besides sushi. I needed a sushi fix and have been wanting to try Kyoto Garden for some time. I ordered a couple of maki rolls and some chicken gyoza. The rolls were subpar for the price paid and compared to other sushi places in the area. I was SO sad. Neither roll hit the spot. The gyoza was good. Like I said, I'll go back...but, not for sushi!

First time dining and the dining area was very inviting. The service was good and the food was decent. We ordered a few maki rolls which were average for the price I paid. I also ordered chicken karaage and chicken gyoza which were actually pretty tasty but nothing special.
