Wow! I had no idea Hoorah had food in the evening. I had been there for breakfast, and this surprised me. My friend and I dropped in after seeing they had a happy hour. Plus, the food sounded delicious. Got there in the nick of time 6 mins before the happy hour ended. Lol! I decided to try the lumpia and the sizzling sissig. The sissig came with an egg in the middle that you mixed up on the sizzling dish to cook it (crispy bits). Talk about fun! There is a lot of tasty food. Can't wait to go back and try something else. They have so much. Ice cream, teas, halo halo...

I was blessed to celebrate my birthday weekend last week where I celebrated with my extended family on Saturday, with my Best Friends on Sunday, and with my immediate family on Monday. That Monday, I redeemed my free birthday breakfast at Dennys, met up with my wifey for a couples massage, and ended my evening by eating dinner at Kusina ni Tovi. Being able to chow down at a Filipino restaurant that's near our home was the proverbial icing on my birthday cake.If you're familiar with where Hoorah Breakfast Cafe and Bar is located in Rancho Bernardo, then you'll easily find Kusina ni Tovi because this restaurant can be found in the same spot. It is situated in the same strip mall as Perfect Pizza, RB Sushi, Pho Hoang Express, and it's across from McDonald's. Not sure what's the relationship between the owners of Kusina ni Tovi and Hoorah, but they are run by different people. While Hoorah operates from 7am to 3pm, Kusina's hours are Sun-Thurs 4:30pm to 8pm and Friday-Sat 4:30pm to 9pm. Take advantage of their Happy Hour specials from 4:30pm to 6pm. Open mic and karaoke night occurs on Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 9pm. The dining space is the same as Hoorah's with plenty of seating, distressed laminate flooring, and a brick facade wall. You order from the register and you'll be provided with a number if you're dining in. The young man behind the counter displayed quality customer service and the family who runs Kusina were friendly and kind. There aren't any closeby Filipino food options in the Rancho Bernardo area. For me to get my Filipino food fix on, I either have to drive to Poway, Rancho Peñasquitos, or the North County Filipino food mecca of Mira Mesa. When I found out that Kusina ni Tovi was a Filipino restaurant, I was like a kid in a candy store because Filipino grub is one of my last meal requests when God calls me home. My Filipino family aren't as enamored as me when it comes to Filipino food, but since it was my birthday, I got to choose where we were having dinner. I had to order one of my fave dishes, which was sizzling sisig; we ordered lumpia; ordered chicken bbq skewers; full size of pancit bihon; and you can't eat Filipino without a full size of garlic rice and a side of white rice. The sisig is served on a hot sizzling skillet with minced pork, chicken liver, chopped onion, and fried egg. Combine this mixture of meat yumminess with rice and this birthday boy was one happy dude. Lumpia aka fried spring rolls were too small for my liking, but everyone likes lumpia. The chicken skewers were the stars of our meal because they were cooked perfectly, marinated, hearty, and we devoured these. The pancit bihon is rice noodles with sautéed vegetables, chicken, and shrimp. This was beautifully presented and they aren't stingy with the noodles, chicken, and shrimp. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes we ate at Kusina.I'm thankful to God for allowing me to celebrate another birthday and I'm thankful to the owners of Kusina ni Tovi for opening a Filipino restaurant nearby, so that my Filipino food cravings can be satisfied quickly. I would order everything again, but I definitely want to try their other dishes and their Halo Halo, which is a refreshing and sweet Filipino dessert.

Been here a couple of times already, their bbq pork is so good! My husband loves sisig, but he hasn't had good sisig until Kusina Ni Tovi! He said it's the best sisig he's ever had! Their tapsilog was delicious, I love the taste of the calamansi flavor, you could tell it was made from scratch. The staff and service was great. They have karaoke nights, and if I could sing, I definitely would have sang, but unfortunately I'm part of the 1% of Filipinos who didn't get the singing gene. All jokes aside, I would recommend this place. My overall experience was awesome. Can't wait to go again!

We went for the grand opening night. The drive from Irvine was worth it. We tried the Pancit Bihon, Nachos Lovers, Liempo and Pork sisig. These were all delish- no food wasted as you can see in the "after" photo. We orderes halo-halo for dessert. It's the best one I ever had in the USA. The location is serene. The restaurant is spacious and the staff are all warm and friendly. If you go on Fridays or Saturdays, there is a live band and if you are gutsy, you can go up the stage and render a song with the band. It's so much fun. Will definitely return. It's a great place to meet family and friends for get-together.

Hoorah did not disappoint. Their food is fresh, made to order and delicious! A very nice, inviting, warm restaurant atmosphere. The chef came out to greet and thank our family for our support. The staff is super helpful and friendly. We ended our meal with the most artistic and generous halo halo dessert portions ever. Come support this family friendly, local restaurant with great food!
