Attended the Book Launch For Every Black Boy, by my friend, Jake Smalls, held at the fabulous Kushala! The atmosphere, the food and the event were amazing. The owner, general manager and staff were all quite attentive and courteous. I will definitely drop in on my next visit to Chelsea!

The food here was wonderful. The staff was very kind and accommodating. I asked to move tables to be close to a charging outlet and they were more than happy to help. I didn't know what to try, so I picked a few things that sounded good and was not disappointed with any of it. For two people, the tapas were very filling. The combination of ingredients was perfect. I'm not sure what kind of bread the pizza was on, but wow! it was good. I only wish I lived here so that I could return many more times and try everything. Even the black iced tea was flavorful and didn't need sweetener.

Traveling to my home town from Phoenix as often as I can creates an opportunity for a "find the best coffee" adventure. This time around I stumbled upon Kushala Sip Coffee on Yelp and made my way to Chelsea. The owner was as sweet as can be, vibe and atmosphere cozy and clean service was fast and the barista was especially nice and helpful. I got the Kala special Chino Kanda thing. It was delicious made my day! Went back a second time next day got the same thing but hot. I'd like to better blended but still excellent coffee.

Ok so it feels crazy that this place has been here for almost a year and I just now discovered it...Came in on a snowy Saturday night and am so glad we ventured out! It definitely has strong coffee house vibes, but the food is amazing! A lot of places in the Eastie/Chelsea area offer pan-Latin "tapas", but some fall a little flat... but not this! We started the carrot hummus, which had nice crispy hazelnuts and whipped feta. Super tasty-- I could have done with a little more salt/acid/brine, but super solid. Next we had the pulpo de la plancha, with papas bravas -- not tough, super flavorful; again, my palate could have used a touch of finishing salt, but just my preference. We also had the mole grasshopper tacos, sopes, and beef empanadas. So, first time eating grasshoppers... the mole sauce was so good you could have put it on a shoe and it would have been delicious, but I actually tried some of the grasshoppers by themselves, and they were crunchy and salty and kinda great! Plus the homemade blue corn tortillas were amaaaaazing. Which was a theme -- the tortillas, the sopes, and the empanadas-- the cook on the masa was what made each of these items stand out. Perfectly crispy, didn't fall apart, well seasoned-- this can make or break (and often breaks!!) these dishes, but every item here was perfection. I wasn't totally clear if they had a cordial license or a full license-- my guess is cordial, but our drinks were pretty great. Standouts were the Spanish G&T with chamomile syrup, and the Oaxacan Old Fashioned. We had great service every step of the way. They have reallllly good looking coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and desserts-- and they assured me that everything can be made with decaf which is important for this grandma-at-heart. Overall, so glad we stopped in, and can't wait to try everything else!

Been driving past this place for the last year, not knowing it existed. Boy were we missing out! We did a bunch of shareable items. Empeñadas. Grilled octopus, hummus, sopes and grasshopper tacos. The tacos use homemade tortillas that were excellent - and the mole sauce was a gamechangerCocktails were tasty and well balanced. Service was warm, friendly and inviting. Atmosphere was really cozy with all the Edison lights. There was also live music - amazing Latin singer doing folk songs on guitar. Very relaxing atmosphere. Overall, amazing underrated spot.

we stopped by Kushala Chelsea yesterday afternoon for a glass of wine and an small plate. What a great experience! Lovely place, unique, friendly. The wine list is small but very special, all wines coming from small boutique family vineyards from the Rueda region of Spain. I had a delicious white Verdejo - wow. The red wine options are mostly Tempranillo based. The food was equally unique and delicious. The owner & staff are help and friendly. We will be returning!!!Phil and Renee

The pastry / cafe manager (short female) was very crappy in responding to an old chocolate croissant-- that was hard. The pastry was stale and instead of being apologetic she opted to argue the fact that it was not old, repeating they purchase them daily, after the male barista who assisted us confirmed the batch was 3 days old.Sadly the service has deterred us from coming back. The worst was she started speaking Spanish to my non Spanish speaking partner, which caused the whole matter to escalate.
