Excellent first experience. I ate way too much though. Food is fresh and delicious. Nice decor and ambiance. Friendly wait staff. What's not to like? I'm just glad there's new sushi in my area. Previously my go to was I love Sushi in Bellevue but it's nice now to have other options. I also enjoy Flo in Bellevue and Oto in Redmond (not the Kirkland location which I find to be not as good). In any event, we went early on a Friday (5 p.m.) and some tables were occupied. By 6 p.m. there was a line out the door. Not sure if they take reservations but definitely give this one a try. This establishment is in the busy Eastgate Plaza shopping center with a major grocery store, banks and other restaurants so parking can be challenging. I'm just glad this soon to be regular is only 10 minutes from my house.

Food (dined in):- Veggie combo: Kim bap and nigiri. The lumbar is different, given that they included seaweed salad into this instead of the usual spinach. It lends a very very strong seaweed flavor. I wasn't the biggest fan, but it might be some other people's preference. Nigiri included a large wedge of avocado, very thick cuts of sweet potato, fried burdock ( really chewy), tempura asparagus. The rice here is purple, which lends an earthier flavor. They also add more vinegar into the rice than most places. As a vegan, it was real surprising to find a piece of chicken fried to the edge of the fried sweet potato ( dinner companion confirmed it was indeed chicken). For anyone with similar or more strict dietary considerations- be mindful that they definitely are cooking items all together in the same oil, and are not properly cleaning out in between tempura batches. Other dishes:- Sushi: in general the raw items are a good quality, just be mindful the portion sizes are very small. For one person- they ordered 3 rolls are were still hungry. - Yakisoba: fairly classic dish and preparation. This person was also still hungry after eating their meal. All in all:- Service is fairly friendly, and will check in every so often. - The food portions are really small, with high price points. - For veg minded diners: be mindful of bits of meat in food.

Great place! I got the aquarium because it had a large variety of fish. It was very tasty - all their rolls here are unique in that they use purple rice. Not sure it tastes too different but it certainly looks more eye catching.Service was really good too - the server came up and told us she was sorry that we were waiting for a long time (didn't feel too long to me) and in the end they gave us some yuzu sorbet as an apology! I really appreciated their thoughtfulness.

Great options for vegetarians! I love the crushed tofu specialty rolls. They also have veggie tempura and a veggie combo meal. Very beautiful presentation with purple rice and edible flowers.

Glad I stopped by this sushi place in Eastgate! I recommend going during their happy hour times because the prices are a tad high, but everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. I had the lunch chirashi that came with generous slices of fish on top of purple sushi rice and a lot of salad. My wife's shio saba yaki was perfectly grilled/broiled, and also came with rice and salad. Service is fast and friendly, and I really like the modern ambiance of the decor. Lots of parking since it shares the lot with Safeway.

Came here on an early Sunday night. We didn't have reservations and only 3 other tables were occupied. Promptly sat and waited on. Items we ordered Agedashi tofu appetizer - tasted greatPlain udon - good Saba shio yaki - Thought it'd be dry but still moistSalmon sampler - 3 pieces of sushi and a roe piece. It was okay. 20 pc omakase nigiri - Presentation was top notch. We shared the pieces so can't attest to how each one was, but the ones I did eat was great. Definitely recommend. It's a tad on the expensive side but you're on the East side and the decor and presentation of dishes matches the price. I'd definitely go again if I was in the mood for fancier sushi.

A new sushi treasure in Bellevue. It's funny, we had wanted to have sushi at the wonderful revolving sushi restaurant Kura, but after an hour wait, we decided to try this new place. Boy was it worth the drive away from Kura. The ambiance is warm and super friendly. It's a little pricey, but worth the extra spend for the freshness of the fish and the friendly experience. The nigiri was delicately prepared with a dollop of yuzu paste on the succulent sweet shrimp and a healthy dose of thick salmon row atop the wonderful Ari roll with salmon, spicy tuna and cucumber. A flavor bomb.Nigiri is roughly $8-12 for two pieces depending on what you get. Pricey, but so fresh and worth the splurge. Beer on tap is $7. A.so highly recommend the agidashi where the tofu squares were cooked to perfection with a crispy crust and tender inside bathing in a delish dashi broth that was excellent to dredge other pieces through. If you're looking for the world's best salmon skin hand roll, this was disappointing. Limp salmon skin was way too fishy. Otherwise, the place is a perfect high end sushi find.

Good quality momma pop nice feel restaurant. Opened July 2023. Food-Sushi rice- added black rice to make overall purple rice. Seasoned fine. *Sushi HH special- Nigri the piece of rice is small,Perfect for putting into mouth. Fish tasted fresh and tender. *Yellowtail Nigiri HH $10- 3 pieces. Tender and fresh. * Ari roll- not super spicy. Yummy! * Kuro roll- flavors as expected with those ingredients. Yummy. *Yuzu sorbet- so fresh, love it. *coffee jello- good, coffee forward, topped with condensed milk and whipped cream. Soft gelatin, not as chewy or milky as the Tokyo Sushi (in Factoria). Service- it was fine. Though server did "push" for the $28 rolls. Ambiance- nice. Enjoyed the festive Halloween decorations. Value - fair. The rolls were the same quantity, quality and value as what you would at Japonessa. Location/Parking- in Safeway plaza. Lots of parking space, but weekday work hours because of construction across the street. Recommend- yes! Nice not needing to go into downtown Bellevue for low key neighborhood for quality sushi.

I was in Bellevue for work this week, and I stopped in at Kuro for dinner one night. I think it's new, and I'm so glad I gave it a try! I read the reviews about them using purple rice, and I really liked it. I don't think it changed the flavor of the rolls at all. I tried the aquarium roll and the cowboy roll, and both of them were unique and delicious. The cowboy roll had a really awesome presentation- it came out on fire! The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the tables were spaced out nicely. I went on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't very busy, but I highly recommend checking this place out! I'll be back next time I'm in town.

I have to admit, this is probably one of my top 3 sushi spots in the area! My friends and I came with no reservations on a Thursday evening and were able to get seated immediately. The staff were kind and I feel like they delivered great customer service. Each of us ordered a variety of different kinds and enjoyed it! The rolls were bigger than we thought and became very full. I personally ordered the crab tower and LOVED it! Presentation, taste, and flavor were all spot on. Overall, this is a great spot that offers Happy Hour on Monday - Friday, from 11-3 and 4-5. I'd also recommend the choya plum wine as a drink option for something on the sweeter side. Tons of parking available and overall clean restaurant. I'll definitely be coming back!
