Konito's Cafe

A simple, no-frills eatery on the eastern edge of Pacific Beach that has a range of scrambles, burritos, and more. I've never been disappointed by portion, quality, or service at Konito's. Come hungry--the servings are healthy and you will leave stuffed.For ~$12 you can have a coffee and a filling home-style cooked breakfast. Definitely a good spot for take away or for chowing down with your crew. The salsas are also delicious, especially the green. Nothing negative to say about Konito's!

Based on outstanding Yelp reviews, I decided to give Konitos a try for lunch. The small informal restaurant is close to bare bones when it comes to seating and service, but customers have been very happy with the food and value. This bright small spot is located in the Vons shopping center in PB where I'm sure the landlord has almost sucked the life out of most small businesses there. Of course what a business pays for rent has to be measured against foot traffic and the business it brings, assuming you have something good and different to offer. I ordered eggs with fruit and toast. Couldn't eat toast today as I was recovering from recent oral surgery. No toast then. Settled for a muffin instead. Muffins rang up at $4.50. I'm 95% sure they come from Costco, which is fine, however I was a little annoyed that I wasn't offered a discount because I was unable to accept their toast that I was paying for. I let that slide. Order at the counter and pay. Your food is brought to you. Now the good. My scrambled eggs were excellent and the coffee was A+! The generous large cup of fruit sections was a disappointment though. How uncaring is it when you carefully section unripe fruit and serve it to customers anyway? Add the fact that this casual restaurant is located right next to a good size Vons makes the oversight (?) worse. The kitchen staff (3-4 people) all certainly knew what they were serving. They just decided to not care and ignore it!And for that failing I'm allotting Konitos a mere 3 stars instead of 4. The canned pineapple mixed in was especially insulting because this restaurant has Hawaiian roots where pineapple cultivation has been a major focus for more than 100 years!Please fix this shortcoming, and I'll add a star soon. This is a good place that deserves to continue to flourish.

Perfectly executed breakfast sandwich, just what I wanted, supernice staff! Go-to anytime I'm in PB mornings!

Awesome mom and pop shop! definitely a good place to get some breakfast. The food was hot and tasty! Will be back for sure!

Group of 4 for to-go on a rainy Saturday morning in San Diego. We called in to Konito's Cafe since Kono's Cafe wasn't answering haha. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, egg burrito #1 and 2 big breakfast #1. The star rating is for food taste. The food were definitely big portions and a good deal for the amount of food you get. I wanted to like it - but the food was just so bland. They offer salsa, and the usj breakfast accompaniments like syrup/jam/butter. My fave part of the big breakfast plate was probably the eggs as they were nice and fluffy. We all shared and still had a good amount leftover. Nice for a nostalgic, no frills breakfast. But could use a bit more seasonings

I found this small cafe on Yelp when I was in San Diego on vacation with my family. Great neighborhood place. Seemed like a lot of regulars there. The service was friendly. The food came out really fast and the serving sizes were huge for their reasonable prices.

If you visit PB, you have to munch breakfast at Konito's. It's a must. I've been coming to little Kono's since it opened. I continue to be thrilled every time I indulge. Today I bought two ham breakfast burritos with bacon! I'm truckin' this home for later. The bag weighs at least two pounds. Rock on with your breakfast self at Konito's

The burritos are great. I was told by several people that this was the place to get breakfast burritos and they weren't wrong. I am always happy with my meal when I get it here.There is usually a line, because it's that good, but it goes fast, but sometimes if you time it just right, you can arrive with no line at all.They have options to eat in or outside.They even have a mini fridge where you can grab their fresh hot sauces/salsas.Make a trip here if you like breakfast burritos.

The breakfast quesadilla was amazing. I'm usually a purist when it comes to quesadillas but the green chili and onion were a subtle and nice touch. I'll def be back.

First time here. Classic breakfast options that taste good, come in large portion sizes, and are good value. Would recommend & come again. Had the egg scramble with sausage & egg burrito #1. Konito's potatoes were pretty cheesy , for those that like that.
