Koi Sushi

AYCE sushi was great! The AYCE deal is well worth it - plenty of different sushi rolls to choose from and a good variety of appetizers included as well. Service was good, they have an efficient process for ordering. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a sushi spot to enjoy with friends.

Currently on the hunt for the best AYCE sushi in Chicago and decided to check out this place - tldr: not the best but I've also had worse. Maybe come for lunch instead of dinner!My group of 3 and I came around 5pm on a Sunday - it wasn't too busy. There's plenty of street parking - I think the spots along Koi Sushi on Southport Ave might be free, but we did paid parking along Clybourn. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was bigger than I expected! They also have a bar with what seems like an extensive drink menu. Their AYCE menu was a lot smaller than I expected.The apps selection was ok! We got edamame, fried calamari, soft shell crab, crab rangoon and the baked mussels. They were all average - I think other spots I've been to seem to have more app selection and were more enjoyable. Sushi-wise, their sushi rolls seem good and the rice balance was good for the rolls. The nigiri selection was expansive but was a little rice-heavy - the fish was good! The sushi is presented so well and they like to use a lot of dry ice for it all!The one thing I will mention for this place is their sashimi. It is fairly large but you get 3 pieces per 1 roll that is ordered. I don't eat a lot of sushi rolls so not sure how big of a win this is.

Amazing value for weekday lunches! All you care to eat for $23!Visiting Koi sushi was a delightful experience. The variety of sushi rolls and menu options was impressive, ensuring there was something for every palate. Each dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and tasted exquisite. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was attentive, ensuring our plates were always full. It's a must-visit for sushi lovers looking for a great value and a fun dining experience.

I had been hearing about Koi Sushi and the AYCE menu forever! Finally got a chance to try it for lunch. There's a $10 price difference between lunch and dinner and you don't get all the options for lunch as the dinner menu. Certain rolls you'll find are not available and appetizers/dessert. All the rolls we had were tasty! However, it's a strong shrimp tempura presence. I love me some shrimp tempura rolls, but a little more variety would be great. The nigiri is a great deal. Lots of selections and no limit. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. Overall, a really good spot for a good price when you're feeling really hungry!

Koi sushi is my go to for all you can eat sushi. Their fish is always fresh and there are various choices in their appetizers, sushi rolls and sashimi/nigiri pieces. One of my favorite things is that you can order three pieces of sashimi per sushi roll/hand roll. I eat here monthly. I've decided to rate them four stars because within the past two months, the service has been very slow. Where we've waited an average of 30-45 minutes for our first food items. I'm hopeful they can improve on the waiting time. Since koi has a bigger side room, the actual waiting time to get a table has never been more than 20 minutes - in my experience.

A great sushi spot if you're in the Lincoln park area. You get a great portion of food! Also a must try is their crispy Kani salad I have to have it every time I come here! They recently upgraded their location and it's even bigger now, it's also great for large groups.

THIS IS A MUST EATARY FOR BOTH CHICAGOIANS AND OUT OF TOWNERS. $23 AYCE SUSHI AND APPETIZERS.. FOR 3 HRS?!?! You simply can NOT and will NOT find that any where else!! The service is beyond amazing and their staff are really friendly & accommodating and their sushi is FRESH BEYOND MEASURES!! Oh, and their cocktails are soooo delicious!! I got the Mai Thai punch bowl. I can't remember exactly what I ordered as I'm writing this review (listed in receipt) but nevertheless everything was superb!! I'M TELLING EVERYONE WHO COMES ACROSS CHICAGO TO STOP HERE!!

We went for the all you can eat. The sushi here is absolutely delicious. We got a variety of rolls and all of them were great. The appetizers on the other hand, did not shine so bright. The gyoza and the rangoons were good but the octopus salad, calamari, and miso soup were not the best. The service was quick and the restaurant was nice and quiet. The all you can eat is definitely worth it as long as you stick to sushi.

A pleasant surprise! I used to only go to Sushi Taku for AYCE, but I'm glad I found Koi! I took my friend here for her birthday on a Thursday night. We got right in, no wait, and there were drink specials ($7 on select cocktails). Obviously, on my first time here, I got a little excited and over-ordered. I had a lot of leftovers and was charged a left-over fee. I see this coming up a lot from other reviews and I think the business can make an easy fix- just limit each person to 2 or 3 rolls per order, and then they can order more after they finish. This way, there's no assumed mal-intent for attempting to over-consume. OR make the rolls smaller/ half portions.The menu is extensive and there are dozens of signature and regular rolls. Some felt a little similar/repetitive. Based on my first time here, my favorites included: Mexican, Green Turtle, and Pink Lady. I still want to try New Moon, Cherry Blossom, and Sweet 16. Overall, I liked my appetizers and rolls.I was so full that I didn't even get to order dessert.I will be back! There's still so much more of the menu for me to explore :)

Went back here for an AYCE Sushi lunch because we had such a good experience the first time! I was visiting my brother and he wanted to come back here, so thats exactly what we did! We always have awesome service here, and we asked them if we ordered enough sushi that they could bring it out in a boat and they happily did! It was such a nice lunch with awesome people! It was packed during lunch, so it looks like a bunch of people stop in during the work week for a delicious meal!
