Kisser, located in Nashville, has earned its spot among the nation's top dining destinations, and its accolades speak volumes--2024 Best New Chef by Food & Wine, 2024 Best New Restaurant by Bon Appétit, and a James Beard nomination for Best New Restaurant. The experience here is nothing short of extraordinary. We began with the Beef Tartare, which was nothing less than indulgent, offering a luxurious blend of texture and flavor. The Shrimp Inari followed, delivering a delightful burst of unexpected flavors that left us wanting more. But it was the Chicken Katsu Sandwich that truly stole the show--crispy, tender, tangy and unforgettable. The Bacon Curry Udon was the perfect conclusion, with its rich, creamy yet sweet and spicy notes creating a satisfying depth that epitomized comfort. The ambiance is intimate and inviting, making you feel as if you've been welcomed into someone's home--warm, cozy, and relaxed. Despite its small size, the space radiates charm, and the service is nothing short of stellar--attentive, thoughtful, and genuine.Kisser is a true gem, offering an experience that feels both personal and elevated. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for standout, inventive cuisine in Nashville's dynamic food scene.

get ready to EAT! (and spend!) their creative japanese cuisine had us hooked. everything (and i mean everything) was beyond delicious! be sure to get on the waitlist early (a QR code by the front door) as their restaurant is on the smaller, intimate side and definitely check out the garage sale vintage store/bar around the corner while you wait!!!

Dining at Kisser in Nashville, TN, is an absolute delight for the senses! From the moment you step inside, the restaurant exudes a sophisticated yet cozy ambiance, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal.Let's start with the food, which is nothing short of spectacular. The Yellotail Collar is a standout--perfectly cooked to juicy perfection, and the 24-hour marinade ensures it's packed with flavor. The portion is generous enough for two, and honestly, the dish stands so well on its own that you don't even need the ponzu sauce. The Beef Tataki Udon was another highlight. The soy-based dashi broth is a bit on the salty side, but the beef is tender and has a delightful smokiness that's out of this world. While the noodles are good, I'm looking forward to trying them in a cold udon dish next time to experience that chewy texture even more. The Curry Rice with Chicken Katsu was a comforting and delicious treat. As someone familiar with Asian cuisine, I was impressed by the lightly breaded, perfectly cooked chicken katsu that stayed crispy throughout the meal. The curry had a spicy kick at the end, but overall, it brought back fond memories of curry rice from Japan. The Miso Creme Brulee was an adventurous choice. While the idea of combining miso with creme brulee is intriguing, the dish was too salty for my taste. I prefer the classic version for its perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. The service at Kisser is exemplary. Even though an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill, the service exceeded expectations. The staff was attentive, food was served promptly, and they were quick to clear the table, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The ambiance is equally impressive. The interior design is chic and inviting, and the kitchen's cleanliness speaks volumes about its commitment to quality.Overall, Kisser offers an exceptional dining experience with delicious food, top-notch service, and a lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return!

Best onigiri in town! 10/10 it can get pretty busy so go early or during the week! Mexican coke in a bottle available! Friendly service! This place is located inside a building with other businesses and there's a cute thrift store you can drink or shop at while you wait for your table.

Kisser is tapas style and can have a long wait so be prepared for a possible wait! Me and my friends ordered the spicy miso ramen, beef tartare, chirashi bowl, chicken katsu sandwich, inari, onigiri, and the beef tataki udon. My favorites were the spicy miso ramen, beef tartare, chirashi bowl, inari, and beef tataki udon. They were all so good, full of flavor, and refreshing! The chicken katsu sandwich and onigiri were fine and fun to try too but they just weren't my favorites.

10 out of 10! My husband has been wanting to try this place and we finally did. We ordered onigiri yaki (vegan style), chopped salad, spicy miso ramen, chicken curry rice, chicken katsu sandwich (took all toppings off for my toddler) and strawberry matcha latte with oat milk.Everything was seasoned perfectly and absolutely delicious! You can tell they take pride in their dishes and cooking. Their customer service was excellent and they accommodated my toddler since they don't really have kid friendly meals. She absolutely loved the chicken sandwich, she cleaned her plate. Overall super cute place. We will definitely return. You all HAVE to try this place!

The food at @Kisser_nashville was so delicious. This Japenese Cafe is a James Beard Finalist for Best New Restaurant and it shows!Inari--sushi rice, shrimp, masago. Each bite was balancedBeef Tataki Udon--The noodles were homemade!! Every topping was added with thought to make the perfect bite. I especially loved the mushrooms and crunchies on top.Miso Creme Brulee--stunning. The miso added a slight tang (like you would find in cheesecake). I could not stop eating it despite being full.Yuzu Lemonade was the perfect refreshing compliment!

Nestled in Highland Yards in East Nashville, Kisser invites you to experience a contemporary homage to the traditional Japanese kissaten. From the moment you step into this bustling yet serene space, your culinary adventure begins. A simple scan of the QR code adds you to the waitlist, and while a 20 - 45 minute wait is typical unless you arrive at opening, the anticipation only heightens the experience to come. Upon being seated, the display of exceptional service immediately stands out. The menu is a carefully curated selection where every bite is a testament to the chef's dedication to quality and artistry. Small plates like the snow crab onigiri, inari, and beef tartare offer a delightful exploration of flavors and textures, each dish meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. The bigger plates continue this journey of culinary excellence. The chicken katsu sandwich is a must-have, embodying the perfect balance of crispy and tender, while the yellowtail collar, marinated for 24 hours and then expertly grilled, offers a rich and satisfying taste. To complement the exquisite dishes, I often enjoy a thoughtfully selected sake. For a refreshing note, I elect a yuzu lemonade, a simple yet invigorating drink reminiscent of summer all year long. Ending the meal with dessert is essential; the miso crème brûlée or yuzu parfait provide a sublime conclusion to an extraordinary dining experience. Kisser is more than a restaurant; it is a refined tribute to the kissaten, blending traditional Japanese elements with modern sophistication. A casual neighborhood spot. Each visit is a vibrant and vivid celebration of culinary artistry, making Kisser a standout destination for discerning palates.

This is the most excited I've been to try a restaurant in a while and Kisser didn't disappoint! I went at 10 AM open on a Sunday and the restaurant was already at least half full when I arrived. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the whole place was beautifully well lit. It felt both open and cozy at the same time. Service was quick and courteous. And despite the great atmosphere and service, the food here is definitely still the star of the show.My friend and I shared the onigiri (cod roe yaki style, crab cucumber avocado, and kabocha curry), the kabocha arugula salad with yuzu dressing, the chicken katsu sandwich, and the miso creme brulee. Everything was fresh and delicious. The yuzu dressing with the sweet kabocha and slightly bitter arugula was out of this world--so simple but so effective. The only thing I would change is to remove the benishouga from the katsu sandwich because it was, for me, a little too acidic. This meal made me so unbelievably nostalgic for Japan because the food was authentic and well-priced. I seriously can't wait to go back.

We've been trying to get into Kisser for a while now but the wait was over an hour, so we had to leave. This time we went before it opened & there was already a line down the hall. The restaurant filled up right away so we ended up sitting in the hallway. I guess they change up the menu, which is a good thing but I really wanted to try some of the stuff on the old menu. We started with the beef tartare, it was good but I wish it had more flavor. The inari was refreshing, it's just sushi rice, shrimp & masago. The charashi bowl was good, it's basically like a sushi bake. We could've done without the Japanese pancake, everything started to taste the same cause all those dishes had the same ingredients. We really liked the spicy udon the broth was really flavorful and it wasn't salty at all. I'd go back and try other things but I wouldn't wait an hour.
