I like Kempers.I do not like Kemper's prices these days. But the food is good so as you see; people come back.The Jerk Chicken is great - the jerk chicken pasta (Made to order) even better.Their brown stewed and curry chickens are also delicious and everything is very flavorful.Their jerk chicken pasta; even a small is enough to give me 2 meals. It's delicious. Their Oxtail? Also good; but the prices make me want to buy a cow instead.Long story short - the food is good, but the prices are high. But go get a jerk chicken (or salmon) pasta and a strawberry ginger lemonade and you'll be fine.

The cashier was so sweet and patient with me. The food was amazing. Definitely will visit again.

Recently visited Kempers for the first upon the recommendation of some coworkers and was quickly reminded why I don't take people's food recommendations at face value. The food was just as nasty, if not worse, than the staff's attitude. The prices are ridiculous for the portions they serve you. Remind you this is my first time, so I ordered a lunch plate (see attached image) not knowing what the portions would be like. I frequent several Jamaican restaurants and the lunch plates are normally the same serving size as a small plate, not here. Not knowing this, I placed my order and proceeded to pay. Once receiving my food, I looked and saw three (3) small pieces of chicken and knew that wasn't enough for me so I asked what's the price difference between the lunch and the small plate. The lady told me the price but stated that since I had already paid, I couldn't pay the difference to upgrade to a small plate. She proceeds to tell me that she already gave me extra because it supposed to only come with two (2) pieces. I honestly don't even know if it was chicken or not b/c you can't even tell what part of the chicken it is, it's like they had cut it into smaller pieces. I also paid extra to upgrade one of my sides to Mac N cheese b/c it looked so good --it tasted like water. No flavor whatsoever! Really the only saving Grace, was the curry.I will NEVER go back here, even if someone else is paying, and I would not recommend this restaurant. Oh, but if you do decide to visit for yourself take cash b/c they also charge extra for you to use a debit/credit card.If you want some good Jamaican cuisine in the metro area visit: Tastee Spoon or Jamrock.

Visiting ATL for a Spiritual retreat, we chose Kemper's for lunch...and my my my!!! I ordered Curried Shrimp extra spicy with Cabbage and Mac n cheese! It was by far the best Jamaican I've had in quite some time. In fact, if my Jamaican food doesn't have the same level of flavor, freshness and perfect amount of spicy (FINALLY!) when I always request such as Kemper's brings--I just don't want it. The cabbage was cooked to perfection, still having a slight crisp to it--peppers and onions in the curry as well. There's truly an art to maintaining the nutritional value of veggies by not cooking them to Death!! The shrimp--of course, we all know how devastating an overcooked shrimp can be--this was NOT THE CASE WITH KEMPER'S!! Again...They have master chefs in the kitchen clearly and I for one love to praise and compliment those much deserving of such! Kudos Kemper's--definitely a Diamond in the a rough!!! I know Whenever I return to ATL I'll definitely be a repeat patron!

They have the most nastiest attitudes I've ever seen with such high prices, I tried to give them a second chance but I'm done! . It smell really bad out the restaurant

The food and service is consistent and amazing. The wait might be a lil long, but always worth it! The turkey meatloaf is to die for!!! The most consistent Jamaican restaurant in Atlanta thus far. I have been here 12 years now and they never disappoint.

We went here on a whim today and I had to write a review as SOON as we got done eating. This was our first time here and never heard of it so wasn't sure what to expect. It's very mom and pop but it had a nice and simple vibe when you get inside. There were two women working when I went in and they made sure to speak. Not overly friendly but polite. There wasn't a menu anywhere which made knowing what I wanted difficult, but I just figured I could order two plates. The first one I got was a medium curry chicken plate with rice and peas and cabbage. The second was a small jerk chicken with rice and peas and mac and cheese. There was confusion when I went to pay because I told the other lady what I ordered but the first lady making my plate gave me a medium jerk chicken meal and not a small. I was fine with them just adjusting the portion of food so as to not give me more than I was paying for, but it looked like that was too complicated and she just gave me the food without the extra cost. She did seem a little frustrated but I appreciated the customer service. I felt bad about the misunderstanding, so made sure to leave a tip. Because there were no menus anywhere I was a little thrown when I saw two plates cost me $40. BUT you get a lot of food and it was so GOOD! I was shocked reading some of the reviews below because every part of our food was bomb. Full of flavor in each bite and hot. I do think having menus visible could be a huge help. This place is definitely worth the visit and we will be back!

I came right in before they were closing but everything was just as fresh as it ever could be. Like the bused out the new Mac n cheese and didn't give me the last scoop of the previous pan. Really above and beyond good service and quality. Now let me tell you about the ox tails, best I've ever had in my life. Perfect mix of veggies and the sweet potato had so much ginger flavor really 100/10 honeslty of of the best meals of ever had in my life I can't wait to stop back there.

1st time stopping through. I had jerk chicken cabbage rice with oxtail gravy it was good jerk was sweet and hot pretty good will be back

One of my favorite Jamaican spots in Atlanta. Be sure to try the kale and the butter beans. You won't be disappointed!
