Keenan's at the Pier

Finding parking around here can be a bit of a hunt, but a short stroll south often reveals some roadside spots. Our quest led us to this hidden gem, perched on a terrace offering sweeping views of the bay and lively Boardwalk.We settled in for a laid-back drink session, basking in the sun-drenched ambiance. I decided to explore their mocktail menu, and boy, was I in for a treat! The "Thyme Out" with its thyme syrup and ginger beer hit just the right spot, reminiscent of a Moscow mule but with a subtle, complimentary twist of thyme. Then there was the "Blackberry Fizz," a delightful pink concoction bursting with the refreshing combo of blackberry and mint, even for someone like me who's not big on carbonation.Service was on point, though it got a tad stretched as the terrace quickly filled up. But our lone server handled it like a champ, maintaining his friendly and professional demeanor throughout. As things got busier, the pace understandably eased off, but the team swiftly rallied, lending a hand to ensure everyone got served without a hitch.Tucked away in a hotel, this spot surprises with a tranquil koi pond right by the entrance, complete with a soothing waterfall--a perfect little bonus to wrap up our visit.

We had the pleasure of taking two guests from Italy to Keenan's for lunch recently. We wanted to find a place that showed off Bellingham's beauty and offered PNW seafood. Keenan's fit the bill perfectly.We were greeted warmly and offered either inside or outside seating. Our guests wanted outside so we were seated on the covered porch. Heaters provided just enough heat to make it comfortable on this beautiful spring day We shared a hummus appetizer and then moved on to cream cakes, fish tacos, and seafood chowder. All of the dishes were flavorful and well prepared. The crab cakes had plenty of crab, the chowder was loaded with fish, and the hummus was perfectly seasoned and tasty.Keenan's is always an attractive place to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner and we'll prepared food.

How this restaurant has 4.1 stars is beyond me.The food is mediocre at best. Three of us had the fish and chips and they were all over cooked.The service was three stars but the food was one and a half.The Ambiance wasn't as fantastic as I had heard from friends who raved over this restaurant. It was okay.All said, no need to return here.

Nice place. Ok service and food. Not bad, just could be better for the price.The place was full, I arrived as a single and was seated right away. Great start. I knew what I wanted so ordered the cioppino. While waiting I enjoyed the view although it was a drizzly evening.The cioppino arrive and was good. I would have thought some bread would come with it but no. A server never came back to check on me so I never had a chance to ask.

Pretty great restaurant. Obviously, you cannot beat the location or the view... Sitting right on the Pacific Ocean staring at the sun setting is pretty hard to beat.All the food is good, limited menu for sure. But that allows them to specialize. We have been here a number of times, and the service is always top shelf as well. All of that to say, it is not cheap. So expect to pay more and your expectations will be met. And a lot of their cocktails they have their own personal spin on, including even make their own tonic, which is fantastic.

I have been here a few times. The view is nice and the food is always good. I try to visit this place whenever I go to Canada. You can also walk out on the dock

Went to Keenans at the Pier in Bellingham and I really only liked 1 dish and it was the arancini appetizer. I had Dungeness crab soup and the garbanzo bean burger, both were just ok, the soup was really thin and the burger kept falling apart. For a higher end restaurant I expected the textures and consistency to be on point but it wasn't. Our waitress was friendly and patient since we were with our toddler, the restaurant is designed really comfy and rustic with all the wood elements with the water as the view from every seat. Overall it was ok, maybe ill have to try something else next time .

I absolutely love this place.Great atmosphere, always amazing food and pretty view.I loved the hummus plate, and the fish tacos. Their breakfast dishes are large portions and you leave feeling full and satisfied. 10/10 recommendation!!

Disappointing experience from start to finish. We had a reservation for brunch; when we arrived a few minutes early, there was a queue of 4-5 groups. We waited 10 minutes, at which point the hostess allowed a group behind us with a reservation to go first despite having a reservation ourselves. We were then told our table was ready when it wasn't and were told to go back to the waiting area. Once sat, they completely forgot about us; after 30 minutes, I finally was able to flag someone down. The food took another 40 minutes after ordering. The food was excellent, but after we finished, it took another 20 minutes to get our check. By the time I left, it was 1 hr 55 minutes after arriving. The views and food is great but what a waste of a morning.
