We were excited to try this new place, but were sad to leave disappointed. We went for lunch around 1pm and were the only ones dining there. The prices were average for this kind of restaurant. There was one person at the cash register and serving us. She was good overall, but it would have been nice if she checked if we needed refills on our hot waters. Our table shared a chicken karaage, I had the niku udon, and the others had tonkatsu ramen.Chicken karaage: I thought it tasted fine, but the others weren't a fan. It would have been better if it were crispy, but they served it with the sauce on top, which made it not.Niku udon: The meat itself was nice and plentiful, but the broth was sooo salty and the udon noodles were too soft. I didn't drink any of the broth after the first taste, but everything still tasted so salty as I ate it.Tonkatsu ramen: I didn't personally try this, but according to my two friends, the soup wasn't hot (which was weird, because we were the only ones there) and it was lacking flavor. One friend and I both had pretty bad stomach issues in the evening, through the night. Neither of us felt like eating dinner afterward, and we still felt pretty gassy in the morning. Not sure if anyone else has experienced that after eating here, but I'm not willing to give it a second try after that. I would give 2 stars for the food, but it's 1 star because of the after-experience.

Ramen was good not great. Ambiance is a bit lacking, music choice was a bit interesting (explicit rap). Price was ok. It is close to our place so maybe I will go back.

I will always welcome a New Ramen spot, located on Long Point, with a small and modern interior. I hope they do well because I'm praying for the rapid gentrification of Spring Branch. There's maybe like 6-8 table here so it could get busy pretty quickly. Very clean on the inside and water is brought to the table in a nice chilled carafe. For apps we ordered the edamame for the little one to snack on, the chicken and ribeye skewers, and the sweet potato tempura. The theme from these was that everything was excellently prepared, great look and textures, but lacking much flavor. Skewers and sweet potatoes needed to be seasoned with more salt or some other spice to make it more craveable. Wife went with the Tori Paitan ramen (first thing on the menu) for here main and when I went to order the Tonkotsu Udon, I was steered away from it by our server. He asked if I'd been there before to order that. It was our first time visiting. Which he said that I should go with Ramen just to be sure, since the udon doesn't come out right every time. I listened to his advice and corrected myself to the Tonkotsu Ramen instead. We deleted both of our bowls, and I was pleasantly surprised with the delicious broth. A bit of a reversal here, I'd say the flavors were all great here and the prep wasn't right. The pork chashu was a small serving with the soup and the bamboo might have been overcooked, it was bit chewier than I've had elsewhere. Pay at the front when done :)

We stopped here party of 3 for lunch at approximately 4pm. There was no one else here. Heard they are brand new just opened. They don't even have their alcohol license yet (no alcohol menu and they're an izakaya means snacks and beer basically). There's 6, 4 seat tables inside. And one girl working the restaurant. Food: (8/10) ~very small portion of skewers. I thought they'd be a lot larger but I forgot I'm eating at an izakaya. One skewer was the size of my pointer finger. It was still good though. Good flavor just itty bitty portion. ($5 per 2 pc seems not worth, but it's fine)~miso ramen was good flavor! Little salty but all good ramen is a bit. Service: (7/10)~I know the restaurant is very new and there were no other customers, but in my opinion this is the best time to show the best customer service. Put your best foot forward Yknow? She wasn't bad. She did her job. Bare minimum. Was on her phone a lot. Ambience: (8/10)~cute little shop. Big Japanese street wallpaper~only complaint is there was no background music so you're eating in complete silence unless you're talking with your food partners. TVs were off as well. Recommend to friends? Doesn't hurt to try!

You would be forgiven for looking at this place from the outside and thinking that it's not fire, but IT IS fire. It's a tiny little new place, but the owner definitely knows what he's doing. I've been to all of the popular ramen spots in Houston and this place's ramen absolutely stands to task. The tori paitan, as advertised, offers a softer, glossier texture of noodle with a rich chicken broth. The spicy shrimp ramen is strong on flavor and offers a shrimp skewer the same way that Tamashi's shrimp ramen does. The flavor is different -- not good or bad -- but the quality is even, in my opinion. People's preference will differ.I also enjoyed the tonkatsu udon. Sounds like a strange combination, but the tonkatsu actually comes separately so that it doesn't get soggy in the broth, which is definitely the right move. The tonkatsu is as it should be: a crispy bite with breading that cuts exactly where you bite instead of getting dragged off of the meat -- always a shame when the batter on something fried doesn't behave properly. The udon has a very noticeable flavor of (shiitake?) mushroom to it so that it isn't too bland. Very well put together. If you're lost on appetizers, I'd say the sweet potato tempura and calamari are the must-haves. The sweet potatoes are not the orange ones, but the green ones -- I actually wouldn't describe them as sweet, but if you've never had them, then you know what...you should. The batter seems to be a bit sweet, which I think makes a great complement to the potato anyway. Calamari is well-breaded, crispy, things of that nature.I haven't had EVERYTHING on the menu so I am absolutely not making any promises that every single thing on the menu is a banger, but there are some gems here and you only need a few heavy-hitting dishes to want to keep coming back to a place. I'd definitely recommend people give the place a try. Jinya and Tamashi are ramen classics in Spring Branch, but Kazami earns a spot in the same sentence as them. Great to have some more variety in the neighborhood!
