Kawaii Sushi

The waiters here are so sweet! The food here was spectacular! And i even had a chat with the owner of this business... and no surprise she was super friendly!!! overall my review is 5 stars because the sushi was so mmmm I had the lemon roll and shrimp tempura roll, while my boyfriend got the hot night roll, the lion king roll, and the shut up roll. (Too bad it didnt make him shut up though..hehe) We also recommend the cream cheese wontons and the beef yakisoba! Ou and can't forget their delicious boba drink! I got the Thai tea and my boyfriend got the coconut smoothie. The owner of the restaurant even gave me and my boyfriend a little surprise treat! It was this asian sweet tofu with boba on top. So yummy! She was very sweet to us and told us all the problems she had to deal with while trying to open up her restaurant... it was so sad But i am glad she pulled through and got this restaurant back in business baby! The restaurant is very quiet when there are few people but rush hour came in right after us and it got very loud and very busy! I am glad to see the store getting busy and i hope it goes well for them... I will be coming back with or without my boyfriend haha

Dinner was amazing tonight! So glad we took the chance and tried something new. Staff is super friendly, prices are great and sushi was very good. We got the lemon roll, crispy onion roll, garlic edamame (so so good!) and cream cheese wontons. All the rolls were presented so beautifully and delicious. Great sushi spot addition to the la Mesa area. They even had a free school supply section for kids at the front door which is awesome. Have nothing but great things to say! Be back soon.

We went for happy hour but there's not really a deal unless you get a large beer or saki and even then you have to spend $20 to get something from their happy hour menu for $3.99. My husband got the sake but said it was not good. The Cali roll was meh. I got miso soup which was ok. I also got a dragon fruit smoothie with banana and OMG. I had to throw it away. I think they put all the sugar they had in the restaurant in that one smoothie. It was horrible.Also the short guy who made the sushi literally sat there and stared at us from the time we finished until we paid as though we were going to dine and dash. We won't be back.

The food was good but it seemed a bit overpriced. It was happy hour and they also had a buy one get one half off deal, it was still $150 for 3 people. The service was ok, nothing special. The menu was difficult, the pictures of the rolls were on a different page than the descriptions so you had to go back and forth to figure out what was what. Be careful if you have jalapeño on top of your roll, it actually burned my skin which is pretty unusual. I had a red burn on my chin where one slipped off the roll. I have never had a reaction to a jalapeño before.

Mother daughter bonding time brought us to this location. We stumbled on it as we began our adventurous afternoon together.A previously established restaurant, this is a new location. We must have arrived in their early days as it's beautiful and clean inside. Almost feels like you're going to a spa!Food was fresh which is the first thing of concern at a sushi restaurant! We started with chicken and shrimp egg roll which was delicious. Mom had bento lunch which came with 6 pieces of shrimp crab and calamari ( in the pic you won't see calamari as she opted for more shrimp instead). She really enjoyed it. I had the hot lunch special choosing cheese wonton and salmon roll. We both had miso soup which was nice and light.Overall a great, slightly experience. Tip, ask about happy hour as apparently the hours are random (started earlier than the menu says, as we overheard upon leaving).

Nice to have a sushi spot back in this area again. Kawaii Sushi definitely scratches the itch. Very clean, lots of seating, and spacious. Sat at the sushi bar and ordered a couple Supreme Rolls (~$15) ; the Sonya's R and the Rose's R. Clean presentation, normal size in diameter and plenty of wasabi too. The young server was attentive. Give this place a try.

Came to visit some family and stopped in here for a bite to eat. When you walk in, there's a counter to place a to-go order, order a smoothie or boba, or to request a table. We opted to dine-in. Our server let us know that they had their grand opening a couple weeks before. They have a great lunch special! I ordered the California 18 piece roll to share. These are my favorite because the rolls are a little smaller and they have the seaweed on the outside. I also ordered a lemon roll and miso soup which were delicious. Their prices are very reasonable! I ordered a Thai tea to go for a little dessert. A lady who worked at the restaurant, I'm assuming is the owner, came by to bring us the check. We told her it was our first time and she was so excited she brought us a little dessert. It was a custard/flan type of dessert with boba pearls and brown sugar syrup. It was delicious! She shared that she found the recipe from a cooking show and decided to try it. If you're in the area, definitely worth the stop in!

Wonderful service! Food arrived quickly and the quality was amazing me and my mother enjoyed the sushi and jalapeño poppers, I would 100% recommend!

Very tasty drinks and food. Cool atmosphere in the restaurant. Great respect to the owner, in the restaurant there is a table where there is an office for children to school for free. I was very pleasantly surprised by this, even though I have no children. The service is amazing! They treat guests and couriers very well. Thank you for your human attitude and for the delicious food!!!
