Wanted to try Kathmandu Momocha food truck for a while now.. Been following them ardently on Instagram to get their schedule so I can go and devour their himalayan momos (steamed dumplings).. Tried their chicken momos (the best), beef momos, veg pakoras, potato and cheese balls.. everything was really good but I personally loved their chicken momos.. the sauce gives these momos a very nice flavor and I wanted more of that sauce.. I wish they could offer different spice levels for their sauce so I could try something hotter.. Since we ordered togo the sauce was loaded in tiny containers vs sauce spread over the momos if you eat it there (this lets the momos soak up the sauce really well and enhances the taste in my opinion)..I can see myself craving these weekly so I am going to stalk their food truck schedule on Insta.. They typically are in Ballard at least twice a week next to some brewery so that gives me a nice reason to have a beer and eat momos.. Pretty authentic.. Definitely recommend these guys..

I used to absolutely love this food truck. But over time their quality seems to have taken a hit, recently the momos have felt undercooked and rubbery. Also, their employees at the Ballard Salehs location always shut shop 1.5 hours earlier claiming that they are sold out, but we have seen them literally throw away a large tub of momos. In the past, my favorites here used to be the veg pakoras, chicken momos & beef pepper jack momos.Their chutney too was really good.

Tried the chicken dumplings (half order) and the potato cheese balls. The food truck was at the Shoreline Farmers market. Both items were flavorful, and the potato cheese balls were freshly made. The dumpling skin is thicker and chewier than I am use to. I chose the mild sauce (they also have a hot sauce) and it was tasty. They have a gluten free option (veggie pakour) but they use the same fryer as glutinous items; which is absolutely understandable.

I went to their food truck and was happy to see that they offer half orders of their momos (these are similar to steam buns or xiao long bao, but with different filling)I ordered a half order of the pork momos and the potato and cheese balls. It sounds like the momos are typically ready made, but the cheese balls are cooked to order. The price and portion size was reasonable. They offer the option of a mild or spicy sauce with the momos - I opted for spicy (it has a nice kick but not overly spicy). The cheese balls were hot, fresh and delicious! Had kind of a rice like texture on the inside, and very flavorful but even better dipped in the spicy sauce. The momos were good, but a bit on the drier side. Unfortunately, the top of the dough part seemed a little undercooked (the reason for 4 stars), otherwise it would have been much better. A note about the dessert options - they had a mango coconut ice cream desert on the menu. I ended up not ordering it, but I saw someone get one and I literally thought they had just gotten a side of sauce at first. It came in one of those small plastic sauce containers, maybe a slightly larger size (3 or 4oz, maybe?), and looked very different from the photo. I heard that it cost $4.50, so be prepared for the size and presentation if you order that dessert. I do not know how it tasted - maybe it was delicious and worth it!

So happy to see this Nepali restaurant in my old work neighborhood. The place is decorated like typical Newari style venue. The food is great, even in addition to the momos. Staff and ow eta are super friendly and attentive. While very delicious, I think the dumplings may be mechanically closed versus the more traditional had pinching. Check it out!

Tried this food truck since we were craving some momos, and we regretted it. The vegan momos tasted pretty disgusting so would stay away from that (could not finish it), giving this place 2 stars since the chicken momos tasted okay and the filing was seasoned well.
