Karavan

Amazing experience at Karavan this morning evening! My friends and I needed dinner after a convention in Romeoville and some had been to karavan before and had only good things to say. First of all I loved the decor! Feels like you've been instantly transported to another land. We arrive early for our reservation but they were able to get a table ready for our party of 8. Food: I had heard great things about the lagman (think a hearty lo mein but with a savory sauce with a kick and homemade hand pulled noodles! We really wanted to try the manty (a dumpling) with pumpkin but they had run out cause it's such a popular item so we got the beef instead with was delicious! For the table my friends ordered the eggplant salad. I loved it form the moment it hit the table. It smelled so good! It's a little crisped with a sweet and sour sauce, fresh tomatoes, and herbs! It was so good I ordered a second one to go. We also tried the borsook think little pillowy pastries served with a sour cream sauce. Our server Askot was super knowledgeable and thorough with explaining the menu and all the dishes I loved learning about the central Asian culture through these flavorful dishes. Lamb kabobs were great we had the roasted potatoes with dill it great light tomato sauce on the side. The panna cotta was wonderful as well loved the top layer with the passion fruit and lime. Great place I'd definitely go back!!

Had dinner there last night.... I noticed the on line menu didn't mention alcohol so I call to see if they were a BYOB, and yes they are.My daughter and I are not beef eaters and a lot of the menu items were with beef. We both ordered the chicken skewers with roasted potatoes.... OMG, the chicken was absolutely delicious, and the roasted potatoes that can be dry at times were also excellent. The service was also very very good.I'm looking forward to going back.

A delightful Kyrgyzstan restaurant with lovely decor, friendly professional service and outstanding food. The kattama is a must try starter and both the eggplant salad and the lamb plov are delicious. A new favorite for me and family.

Solid food with great service. Meat was cooked right, portions were decent and okay for the price. Our server, I cannot remember his name but he was light skinned with light brown hair early 20s, was so kind and informative. Hes the reason Im giving 5 stars. Location is also right off the highway. I thought I took pictures but guess I didnt. Either way go check this place out and they are 100% halal. Had a video of the food but Yelp app isn't letting me upload videos for some reason. So I attached the only picture I took.

My husband and I loved the food it was so fresh. Very impressed with cleanliness and atmosphere. Bring your family it's got friendly servers.

I've had 2 great experiences here. The food is delicious and the service is great. I recommend the eggplant salad, skewers, noodles, plov, and honey cake. Everything is a unique twist on familiar foods, even my kids enjoyed it.
