Food was delicious, the restaurant was cozy but felt upscale. Server was super friendly and attentive. The curry is flavorful and lovely.

This my go-to place for curry. I love all of their dishes but my favorite is the Green Thai coconut. I sub the bell peppers for broccoli and the cooks do an amazing job. It's so rich in flavor and filling. The service is great, the ambiance is nice and moody; perfectly lit and casual.

[To-go experience]Online menu was excellent and easy to read. Ordering was simple enough. It was ready pretty quickly. Unfortunately, when our food arrived, while the flavors were good (and spicier than Thai food typically comes - yes even for Thai food!!), it was all a bit dry and overcooked. The noodles just fell apart - but the GF calamari my friend ordered was a favorite!I've been told by locals that our experience was not typical of ZenZeros quality. I hope so!

There was only one server for the entire restaurant so my Pad Thai had been sitting for a while and was gummy. It was not enjoyable at all and though I got a to-go box, I decided to pitch it once I left because I figured if it was bad once it would be bad twice. I sympathize with staffing problems but I still want decent food, you know? It's not exceptionally cheap so I felt like I didn't get my money's worth. They should hire more staff if possible - I know it's hard, especially when you don't pay enough. I would prefer not to go back here.

I stopped into Zen Zero last night for dinner before a show at Liberty Hall. I lived in Lawrence for years and never got around to trying them. I knew it was Asian food, but didn't know anything else about it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had Panang curry on the menu so I got it. It was really well done. I've had better, but it was delicious enough that I didn't waste any. The service was good, but nothing spectacular. The restaurant wasn't the cleanest I've seen and there was nothing special about it, but I don't usually expect much from a downtown Lawrence restaurant. All in all, it was a good experience and I would return.

Pretty meh, but have to remember it's a college town, so standards may not be super high. But staff was friendly. Ordered the khao soi. It came in a small bowl and it was more dense pho noodles with a gravy than egg noodles and more soup like curry. It didn't taste bad, but it was so different that it really took me out of it. Otherwise, pretty standard sit down experience.

Zen Zero has been one of my go-to Lawrence Restaurants for 15 + years. They have put a great spin in Thai/Thai fusion and perfected classic dishes like Singapore Noodles, Pad Thai and Massaman Curry. Since the pandemic some of the recipes changed a little with supply issues which has been a hard adjustment for me but I still consider ZZ to be a great and family/vegetarian/vegan friendly option.

Dellish GF options! Pad Thai is a must. My husband enjoys more traditional Asian food, and he even liked the choices to try something new.

We came based on pretty good Yelp reviews and oh my gosh were we disappointed! Maybe we came on a bad day? I'm not sure! The Pad Thai smelled and tasted like vomit. My daughter could not eat it and I took one bite and lost my appetite. My bowl of noodles had absolutely no flavor. It was like plain noodles sitting in hot water. When I asked for hoisin so I could add flavor, the server charged me for it. Almost all Thai or noodle restaurants automatically give you things to add to your soup, such as sriracha and hoisin. Not here. My husband and other daughter ordered the same bowl of noodles and added dumplings to their bowl for an additional $2. They each got ONE dumping in their soup. WHAT?! So we paid $4 extra for TWO dumplings...We will unfortunately never return and do not recommend.
