Review for Friendly Bean Coffee and Woodneath Library. Just went this last week for studying for finals and was pleasantly surprised to see it so busy! Love seeing so many community members together in a shared space. Everything was clean and the coffee was great! I would ask for only 2 pumps of lavender though if you don't want it to be too strong. Highly recommend getting out of the hot summer weather and spending a day in the library.

Woodneath is not only an amazing library, but one of the greatest historical preservation accomplishments in Kansas City!Mid Continent Library system has taken the 1855 Woodneath estate house and the surrounding 33 acres and created one of the true public gems of the metro. The original structure has been turned into themed story rooms with an attached north wing that houses the large library, a coffee shop, display cases, tons of seating options and conference rooms. The south wing attached only by covered walkway and separated by a large courtyard houses event space for regularly scheduled readings and lectures. With gardens, wetlands and trails covering the remaining acreage and connecting it to the neighborhoods and elementary school nearby. Stunning inside and out and looks similar to a presidential museum and library in it's grandiose setting with historic brick and modern stone structures juxtaposed.A hidden jewel in Clay County and Kansas City!

This library and facility is absolutely beautiful. It's modernized, clean, with polite and helpful employees. Attached to the library is the mansion of the owner. She donated the land for the library. The mansion has a meeting area. The cafe was closed when I attended my event. There's displays in the windows of the library. It's probably one of my favorite places to go in Kansas City.

Such a unique library! Very modern inside, clean, and beautiful outside. The library is built into an old manor house! The staff is friendly and helpful and they have meeting rooms you can reserve. The staff is friendly and helpful and it is a convenient location. Our group meets here weekly to use their reserved rooms. I love this place!

I visited this library for a special event with several authors. It's a really nice library and everything was really well organized.I do wish they'd have closed the blinds behind the stage because it made it a little hard to see the authors with the sun behind them. Also, they have since of the tiniest little uncomfortable folding chairs.

Gorgeous library! Lovely comfy cafe with great light. Awesome conference rooms for seminars. A little far for me, but if I was closer I'd visit this library often.

Woodneath Library is a great community resource. It's been around a couple of years, and I love the new amenities modern design. It has a great children's area, with a play area and a room for storytime. Tons of books to keep little ones of all ages engaged. The weekly story times are a highlight. I love to attend, knowing that they'll be a mixture of Hands-On play and learning. Most recently we went to Storytime with Santa. It was great. So many fun community events, to really make early reading a fun experience. There's also a lot of amenities for adults, including a nice cafe that has great lattes and sofas throughout the library to sit and relax.

This is a beautiful facility and I have been to several recent author events here that I very much enjoyed! If I wasn't already so married to the downtown KCMO Public Library, this place would totally be my go-to!

This location has the most amazingly, talented and creative staff! They truly care about the patrons and are always willing to help. The facility is gorgeous with the juxtapose of the new modern building against the old home. It is equipped with a computer lab, meeting rooms and a coffee shop! It houses the Story center including the fascinating book press. It is truly a destination to behold. :)

I love all the Mid Continent libraries, but this one is special. It's built adjacent to an old house and the property is so beautiful I took my senior photos there. The collection is wide and whatever isn't in the system can likely be borrowed through inter library loan. My brothers and I love the teen events held here, and the story time barn in the children's section is amazing. The library has many study and meeting rooms available as well. I especially love the mini museum it has with the history of the property as well as artwork from nearby schools. This is definitely a good place to go!
