Wilma's Good Food

We had Wilma's fried chicken and mashed potatoes yesterday. They were located outside of Crane Brewing Company. On Sundays, they only do fried chicken, but it is delicious! The chicken is fried fresh when you order it- the batter is fantastic and it is served with mashed potatoes and gravy. One serving is large- we shared one plate and were satisfied.

Great fried chicken at Cheesy corn today at Wilma's located outside of Crane Brewing Co. in Raytown, MO. $12.00 bucks even gets you half a fried chicken and one side of either mashed taters or cheesy corn. The chicken is cooked fresh and is juicy and flavorful. Enjoyed with either a beer or cider from Crane Brewing Co, a delicious meal. Only one suggestion to the owners if possible - Maybe more shaded tables outside? There were only two this afternoon and both were taken by long term campers. People are frequently considerate of others needing a table. But, as we all know, that's just some of us - not everyone.

The fried chicken was scrumptious and finger licking good. We got four big pieces of hot mouthwatering bird that had me swinging my foot. You know it's good when you don't want to talk. The mashed potatoes and the gravy let me tell. Baby, I could bathe in that stuff. It was so yummolicious!

My friend hired Wilma's food truck for his wedding and it was AWESOME! I would've never thought to have a food truck for a wedding meal and I would totally consider it after this. The food is AWESOME!! I had the Notorious P.I.G and it was so good. I wanted to eat 5 more. Also had the mashed potato balls, they were just as amazing. Everyone needs to try this if they get a chance.

Bret has an amazing menu and its some of the best handcrafted food in KC. YOU will love any item off the truck. Plus Bret's a hell of a guy and won't stop until your satisfied 110% LOVE ME SOME WILMAS!

I received a paid lunch from Wilma's Food truck courtesy of a raffle at my job. It was to include 1 appetizer, 1 entrée, and 1 drink. For purchasing patrons, the price was listed at $15 for those 3 items. I selected the Fried Mashed Potato Balls, & the Terra Incognita Slider along with a bottle of water.The mashed potato balls came 3 to an order and were fried REALLY well. They were super crispy. However they were VERY bland. These would definitely benefit from an aioli or other dipping sauce.The Terra Incognita slider was indicated as a braised & pulled pork sandwich with pickled onions. It was pretty delicious, although not very visually appetizing. Very beige & mushy looking. Also, the onions seemed to be fried rather than pickled. Maybe they were pickled and then fried? The sandwich came on a nice little toasty roll, however the roll seemed too small for the amount of filling.I'd be willing to give Wilma's another shot, although it was pretty pricey for what you got. I can't say if this is indicative of their normal pricing structure or not since it seemed to be for a hired event.

This guy has steadily impressed me time after time. I would suggest usually one or two items on a menu, but his is awesome all the way around. Make it a point to check out one of KCS premier food trucks

Wilma's Food Truck is FANTASTIC beer food. KC Cheesesteak is the bomb. Smoked BBQ brisket, cheese sauce, and fried onions. YUM.

Despite operating out of a humble food truck, owner/operator Brett Atkinson cuts no corners with his made-from-scratch menu. All of his food is thoughtfully conceived, and painstakingly prepared. The care and creativity he puts into his dishes set him apart from other eating establishments, even the brick-and-mortar variety. Seek out his stainless steel trailer if you're in the mood for satisfying, homemade cuisine.

I've tried about every food truck in the KC area, but I keep coming back to Wilma's. The menu is very creative and the execution is always spot-on. Great chef, great people, great truck!
