WestSide Grill and Bar

Think of "Neighborhood Bar" - that dying breed of locally owned (usually family owned) restaurants/bars where being a "regular" is an earned status. Think Cheers without the neckties, and within driving distance before your air conditioning can cool off your car. That's WestSide. Located in a Lee's Summit strip mall, anchored by Big Lots and Starbucks, on MO 291, it's about as neighborhood as you can get. Why don't be surprised if the staff remembers your drink and maybe your food order by your third visit (your name might take a bit longer).Anyway, I have always gotten excellent and friendly service along with very good food. There are daily meal and drink specials. Any meal I have ever had that wasn't up to snuff was immediately taken back and replaced with whatever I actually ordered. Servers? Think "the girl next door, but with a smile and a good attitude." Parking is abundant with adequate handicap spaces near the door. It's well lit and has that safe suburban feel. Their prices are reasonable (even in our current economy), and the menu should cover most reasonable tastes, without being overwhelming. I now consider myself a regular (I did verify that status with both the bartenders and a server the other night). It's a friendly, comfortable place that's easy to relax in.

Everything is a 5/5. We were looking for somewhere else when we happened to find this place. There is a bar vibe with great food- generous portions, served very hot. Prices reasonable. Service genuine and appropriate.

This is the first time I've ever given any place this low of a rating. We came in after any lunch rush. No one greeted us or acknowledged us. There was one woman working the bar and talking to those seated there. One table of two women were done and trying to get a ticket to pay... They went up to the bar and were able to pay. There were three or four tables with people just sitting there. No drinks, no menus. We found a table and sat down and waited. This really is just a bar with a few tables around the edge. And the floor and tables all had that sticky feel like the spilled beer didn't get cleaned up too well. We looked at a specials laminated menu, but it clearly wasn't a regular menu. There really wasn't much of anything on the specials. We kept waiting. This really feels like a sad lonely place. I'm not sure why anyone would come here. We decided to just leave and go somewhere else where our business was wanted.

I visited Westside with a friend this week and I'll definitely be back again soon... We sat at the bar and felt welcomed right away by all the regulars around us (including the bartender and owner, Chelsea) Great drinks, weekly food specials & a local hometown "Cheers" vibe- be sure to stop in soon!

Placed an order via door dash and my food was so under cooked I had to throw it away. I called to let the restaurant know and the young lady who answered the phone said "sorry we didn't get any order". I stated I have my receipt here from your location. she then stated" I thought you wanted your burger medium." When I never physically talked to her. The burger was filled with avocado sauce, extremely soggy bread from over done condiments. Please don't waste your time.

Sat outside on the patio which sometimes can result in poor service but this was my worst experience yet.We ordered fried pickles for an appetizer, they were good but we found a hair on one of them.We asked two separate servers for a wine and beer list and eventually went to the bar and got one ourselves.Once the food came out, we asked for refills and extra napkins which were never brought. The sweet potato fries taste good but were cold. The smokehouse burger tasted like it was made with very cheap beef.On a positive note the chicken tenders were very good.Loved this place when it was on 150 hwy but they have let this location go. Will not be back.

Good food service was great and enough TV's to watch multiple games at once. Friendly family vibe with a cheers feel.

My food was cold and took 30 minutes to receive my burger. I did not like the soggy fries and it looked like the workers were not doing their job well.

I had a delicious cheeseburger and fries. It was cooked perfectly. The beer was cold. Our server (Erin) was so very nice and friendly. I will go back again. The place was like a nice neighborhood bar and grill. The other customers were friendly and welcoming.

Nice atmosphere, I had catfish bites and my wife a burger. Both of us were very pleased, no soggy fries, all was very good including service.
