West Flanders Park

I grew up visiting this park and I have to say it's the exact same after all these years. This park has it all: restrooms, a pavilion that can be rented, a .5mi walking trail that goes around a playground (old school plastic one) and a flower/butterfly garden, and plenty of parking. There's plenty of empty grass for kids to run around in. This park is so beautiful and peaceful. It's perfect for family time!

This is a very popular Shawnee area park. After school and on weekends their parking lot is full! They have a concrete walking trail that loops around the park. Even on the coldest day in winter you'll see people out walking on it. They have permanent bathroom facilities (closed in winter) and drinking fountains with dog dish attachments. There are two large shelters with picnic tables under them. The large playground is castle themed. They even have a dragon to climb on! Lots of climbing, swinging, and sliding going on here. They also have benches surrounding the playground for tired parents. :)The park has lots of open grassy areas and mature trees. I believe there is even a small rose garden, but it's hard to tell in early spring. ;) Great park! Check it out if you get the chance.

This was a cute little park to take my two year old and walk around a bit. It's quiet and peaceful. The play area for the kids is small but the park as a whole is very nice.

It's a nice park. Within walking distance from our house. Great for walks or for our daughter to go play. It's a smaller play area for kids, but it's good if you only want/need a little time at the park. Some of the bigger parks you could easily spend hours at but this is good for maybe an hour or so.
